Abstract
The main theme of this article is specific perceiving of reality and the historical process in the
literature of Russian emigrants the first wave. The history was one of the popular topics of
emigrant’s writers prose. Individual writers, however, approached this problem in different
ways. The article presents three different visions of history in the prose of the first wave of
Russian emigration. Ałdanow made history main theme of his work and is representative of
the classic historical novel. N. Berber represents the type of biographical novel, B. Zaitsev,
however, is the author of an autobiographical novel.
