The major subject of his works was the urban architecture. An exceptional part of them is inspired by Jan Bulhak. The features of his works are mostly every-day people from the city. The architecture, shown often as a labyrinth, was like a setting to an "every-day life of the streets" performance was played. The puzzle of the setting - as Maciej Szymonowicz writes - was emphasized by a characteristic way of showing light. Gardulski, like Bulhak, used the low light of the morning or the afternoon, which gives the effect of glowing when it falls on wet walls of the buildings. In claustrophobic vision of the city, Gardulski uses the light to show the structure of the city-space. This creates a different, unreal picture of the city, divided by light and hidden by it" The Organizers of the Exhibition: Galeria pf from Poznan and History Muzeum of Photography in Cracow.
