45 PRESENTATIONS WITH RESULTS OF RESEARCH AND IMPLEMENTATION
During the Conference more than 40 specialists from revitalization field will show effects of their research and
practical activity concerning reorganization of degraded areas. Shown results of the research may become
a chance for rising new Projects and tightening the cooperation among scientists, degraded land owners and
investors.
SPECIAL SESSION
During the session Tools for identification of main sources of underground water contamination the following
topics will be described: application of passive sampling in contamination assessment of water environment,
integral groundwater investigation (Integral Pumping Tests), environmental forensics and isotopic fingerprinting,
backtracking and contaminant transport modelling and environmental and health risk assessment.

The conference will be held in the town of Ustroo, located in the heart of the Silesian Beskids, at the end of
a mountainous part of the Vistula valley, between Równica and Czantoria hills. It is a well-known health resort and
a holiday destination. Picturesque landscape, long tourist trails and healthy climate attract tourists, health resort’s
patients, holiday-makers, as well as lovers of mountain sports and fishing.

The conference will be held in Polish and English.

We welcome state and private organizations as well as local governments involved in the process of
revitalization of degraded areas, particularly post-industrial sites, i.e. local and regional authorities, site owners,
companies dealing with soil and groundwater remediation and land reclamation, construction companies,
academia, R&D units, experts, consultants, financial institutions, and insurance companies from Poland and
abroad.

Registration fee includes participation in the meeting, conference materials, accommodation, meals and

CANCELATION OF PARTICIPATION
Cancelation must be submitted in written form (by fax) at least 3 days before the beginning of the Conference
to qualify for a refund. Resignation in later term is connected with necessity of defraying 100% of organizational
costs. Absence during the Conference does not dispense from registration fee.
CONFERENCE MATERIALS AND MONOGRAPH
Abstracts will be published in a conference brochure, full texts will be disseminated on a CD. After the
conference the papers will be approved by the Scientific Program Committee and published in the monograph:
‘Innovative Solutions for Revitalization of Degraded Areas 2011’.
