Call for Participation
The Polish Society for Information Science, together with the Polish
Chapter of the International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO –
PL), invites to Zakopane, Poland (24-27 September 2013) for the
international conference – XII Forum on Scholarly and Technical
Information. This year the conference will focus on “Society – Information
– Innovation Challenges of the Digital Age”.
The Forum has been organized biennially since 1991. In Poland, it is the most
important series of conferences related to Information Science. In previous years the
Forum has also attracted international speakers from the Czech Republic, Germany,
Italy, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain and United Kingdom.
This call for participation is addressed to all those interested in the contemporary
information world, both theorists and practitioners.
Thus, invited are:

researchers and scholars from LIS, information technology, social sciences,
and related areas,

information professionals, librarians, ICT specialists,

information policy makers and stakeholders,

information users.

Fees and accommodation

The conference fee is 650 PLN (Polish zloty) (before 30 June 2013) or 750
PLN (Polish zloty) (after 30 June 2013).

Payment has to be made by 15 August 2013, at the last.


Papers’ features and formats required of Authors

Time of speech: 20 to 30 minutes

The papers will be reviewed and published in the post-conference book.
Selected texts will be published (in English) in the peer-reviewed scholarly
journal PTINT – Praktyka i Teoria Informacji Naukowej i Technicznej.

The papers, saved in .doc or .rtf formats, should be 10 to 15 standard pages
long, including bibliography. Send the full texts to [email protected]

Abstract (approximately 200 words) should contain the purpose of the paper,
major research findings, conclusions, etc. and a few keywords.

The text should be divided into unnumbered chapters with individual headings.

All the tables, figures, charts and diagrams should be numbered consecutively
using Arabic numbers. They should have individual titles. Furthermore,
author's name and the date of creation should be written. Reprint permission
should be enclosed if needed.

In case of Web pages, the author, title, the date of publication (or last
modification), URL and the date of visiting (in square brackets) should be
given.

References should be shown within the text by giving the author's family name
followed by a comma and a year of publication, all in square brackets, e.g.
[Smith 2011, p. 70].

The bibliography/literature should be placed at the end of the text in
alphabetical order.
