Sun City Million Dollar Race 1st place winner - RUBBELLOS.
I was there that year for the race and saw RUBBELLOS
arrive by herself more than 3 minutes ahead of all the rest
of the birds. There were head winds, weather was clear
but very hot, in the mid to upper 90's with high humidity. A
very tough day for a race I told myself it takes a totally
different pigeon to race under these conditions, especially
as a youngbird 8 months old. I tried to buy RUBBELLOS
but was outbid and regretted not buying her for months
after. :rhen along came her father - SUN CITY - I bought
him so all turned out for the best.
DV 1219-12-0029 - SAID IN SPUN SILVER. Winning 2nd Place
South Africa Million Dollar race. There were two birds that
arrived together UNTAMED DESERT (NL 1231153-12) and
SAID IN SPUN SILVER. UNTAMED DESERT walked in for
first place. These two winning pigeons won over $345,000
USD. They raced against 2,793 birds from 593 km with
temperatures over 96 degrees and 100% humidity.
In the No.1 pigeon race in the world , SAID IN SPUN
SILVER also won:
380 km 2,960 birds Care Race #5 23'd Place

was known for the longer distance tougher races. This
