Point defects: density and mobility. Diffusion and relaxation processes of point defects in metals and alloys. Interstitial diffusion. Solid solutions. 4. Introduction to dislocations. Properties of dislocations (illustrations). Interaction of dislocations with point defects. Dislocation movement on slip plane – realistic picture of dislocation motion in random stress field.
