Firma PGNIG Upstream International AS, wyłącznym
Głównym tematem niniejszej pracy jest system depozycyjny Tunfisk, rozpoznany i udokumentowany w utworach neogenu, w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie złoże Skarv, we wschodniej części basenu V0ring. Norwegian Continental Shelf. Petroleum geology and sedimentology of the Neogene deposits to the south-west of the Nordland Ridge. PGNiG Upstream International AS is wholly owned subsidary of the Polish Oil and Gas Company, since 2007, with exploration activity focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. In December 2012, the company began production of crude oil and natural gas from the Skarv field, located in the Norwegian Sea. The Skarv field was discovered in shallow marine Middle Jurassic sandstones of the Garn, Ile and Tilje formations. In the Skarv area, PGNiG UI holds interest in a few additional exploration licenses, where exploration activity is carried out in cooperation with other oil and gas companies. The first part of this Ph.D thesis is devoted to the migration history of the tectonic plates. An evaluation of this is key to the development of the NE Atlantic rift and its relationship with paleogeography and lithostratigraphy of the Møre and Vøring basins, where the Skarv field is located. The main goal of the Ph.D thesis is discussed within the second part of the thesis; a geological analysis of the Tunfisk depositional system, which was recognized in the Kai formation (Neogene) in vicinity of the Skarv field. The Tunfisk depositional system consists of a deep marine canyon, which is filled by deepwater turbidites channels, slumps and levee deposits. Additionally, significant hydrocarbon shows have been recorded in the canyon area by exploration and production wells drilled on the Skarv field in the last 15 years. The main part of Tunfisk is located inside the exploration license PL558, where shares are held by the four oil companies, including PGNiG UI.
