Dear parishioners and friends,
Without a doubt, everything in our lives is a gift! Are not the
greatest blessings one can have: family, friends and faith? How
thankful we must be to the GIVER of all gifts for the manifold
blessings we enjoy!
Over the next several weeks all parishioners will have an opportunity to reflect at a deeper level upon the multitude of blessings
received in their lives. St. Mary of Czestochowa Parish will be
engaging in a STEWARDSHIP AWARENESS PROGRAM.
Through education, prayer and reflection we will become more
cognizant of the many blessings in our lives. Among other truths,
we will learn that STEWARDSHIP is not a matter of giving more;
rather, it is a way of life.
During our parish's reflections on the deeper meaning of
STEWARDSHIP, you will learn what it means in terms of your
personal spiritual lives. You will be asked to reflect upon the
three areas of stewardship and how they are lived in your life:
• TIME - How much time do you set aside each week in
prayer and involvement in volunteer activities in our parish
and in our community?
• TALENT - How are you using your talents for the betterment of our parish and greater community?
• TREASURE - How do you financially support our parish
and other charities?
It is my hope that during these weeks of reflection on the meaning of STEWARDSHIP, your awareness of God's glory in the
"everyday" will increase; you will be strengthened in your relationship with God; you will be lead to thank God for your profound abundance, and you will be encouraged to share your
blessings. We will learn that when we help our parish get on
solid ground, it is a "win-win-win" for everyone!
Please pray for success as we launch our STEWARDSHIP
AWARENESS PROGRAM, so that many will hear God's call and
respond, "HERE I AM, LORD!"

THE CALL….”COME AND SEE”
Stewardship is part of the Christian vocation a call to be a disciple of Christ. Jesus not only
calls people to Himself but also forms them
and sends them out in His service. To be
disciples - to follow Christ and try to live His
life as our own - is the common vocation of all
Christians; discipleship in this sense is Christian life. We do not
hear the Lord’s call in isolation from one another. Next week, we
will hear more about THE CALL TO STEWARDSHIP!
LENTEN FISH FRY
The Parents’ Club of St. Mary’s School is sponsoring a FISH FRY every Friday during Lent in the
school hall from 2PM to 6PM. All proceeds will
benefit the school.
Fish dinners are $6.00 per person.
Drinks will sell for $1.00 each.
Additional side dishes will cost $1.00
Carry-out services will be available.

Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence from meat. Everyone is
invited! Come and enjoy a delicious home-cooked, meatless meal
and support our parish school!

MARKET DAY PROGRAM
Our parish school benefits greatly from
the Market Day Program. All profits are
deposited directly into the School Fund.
Last month, through the efforts of the
supporters of Market Day, we earned a large freezer for our
school because there were more than 49 orders! This month we
could receive a Bonus and our profits will grow if we can sell at
least 249 pies (see insert in order sheets)! The pies are delicious
and can be used as a part of your Easter dinner! Orders are due
by Tuesday, March 28th. They can be dropped off at the school
office or at the rectory office. Internet orders can be placed as
late as Monday, April 3rd, (by noon). Pick-up Date/Time is
THURSDAY, APRIL 6TH from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM in the school
hall. We can arrange for your food to be delivered to your home
- please call Blanca at the rectory office (652-0948) or (708) 7957848 for more details about home delivery and other information
you may need. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated!
The next Religious Education Class is scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2006. The class
will begin with Mass at 8:00am, and the students are to meet in the church. The RICE
BOWL, mission collection, will be taken up at
this time.

1 Corinthians 1:22-25
Pam was ready to buy a table at a Flea
Market when a man came up and told her
that the old table wasn’t sturdy and would
not hold up well. While this presented a
stumbling block, Pam bought it anyway.
About twenty-five years ago, a friend told Jim about a new
software company, which he was thinking of investing in. Convinced it was a failure, Jim’s dad called the investment a waste
of money, but Jim didn’t listen. He went ahead and bought some
shares of the stock.
Two years later, Pam had her table appraised and was told it
was a valuable antique worth $50,000. Jim’s investment, in a
little-known company called Microsoft, has multiplied over and
over again and made Jim a healthy sum of money
A stumbling block? Foolishness? Perhaps. But these were the
same words that St. Paul used in describing the gospel. The
image of a crucified Messiah was a stumbling block to Jews. His
life did not match up with the way they were expecting God to
save them. Likewise, the logical Greeks could not fathom Paul’s
explanation of salvation. To them, it was nothing more than a
good story.
On the other hand, a few Jews and Greeks accepted Paul’s
words, believed in Jesus, and gave their lives to him. The early
Christian churches that these disciples built had one unique
message that formed the foundation of their faith: the message
of a crucified and risen Messiah that sounded like folly to Greeks
and scandal to Jews..
Two thousand years later, this same Jesus is at the center of
our faith. It is this “foolish” gospel that draws us together each
Sunday. And how blessed we are to believe in such folly! We
have found a magnificent God who loves us completely. Let’s
make today’s celebration special. Let’s all tell Jesus that he is
our God and we are his people.
“Dear Lord, you are wise and loving. Come make your
home in me. I want to embrace the incredible ‘folly’ of your
salvation.”

TERCER DOMINGO DE CUARESMA
Se acercaba la Pascua de los judíos y Jesús subió a Jerusalén. Y
encontró en el templo a los vendedores de bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los cambistas sentados; y, haciendo un azote de cordeles,
los echó a todos del templo, ovejas y bueyes; y a los cambistas les
esparció las monedas y les volcó las mesas; y a los que vendían
palomas les dijo: Quitad esto de aquí: no convirtáis en un mercado
la casa de mi Padre. Sus discípulos se acordaron de lo que está
escrito: "el celo de tu casa me devora". Entonces intervinieron los
judíos y le preguntaron: ¿Qué signos nos muestras para obrar así?
Jesús contestó: Destruid este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré.
Los judíos replicaron: Cuarenta y seis años ha costado construir
este templo, ¿y tú lo vas a levantar en tres días? Pero él hablaba
del templo de su cuerpo. Y cuando resucitó de entre los muertos,
los discípulos se acordaron de lo que había dicho, y dieron fe a la
Escritura y a la Palabra que había dicho Jesús. Mientras estaba en
Jerusalén por las fiestas de Pascua, muchos creyeron en su nombre, viendo los signos que hacía, pero Jesús no se confiaba con
ellos, porque los conocía a todos y no necesitaba el testimonio de
nadie sobre un hombre, porque él sabía lo que hay dentro de cada
hombre.

Estimados Feligreses y amigos,
¡Sin duda, todo en nuestras vidas es un regalo! ¿No son los
mejores regalos: la familia, amigos y la fe? ¡Que agradecidos tenemos que ser con nuestro Creador por todas las
bendiciones que disfrutamos!
En las próximas semanas todos los feligreses tendrán la
oportunidad de reflexionar en nivel intenso a la multitud de
bendiciones que recibimos en nuestras vidas. La Parroquia
de Santa Maria de Czestochowa participara en el programa
de STEWARDSHIP AWARNESS. Con la educación, la oración y reflexión estaremos mas alerta a la cantidad de bendiciones que hay en nuestras vidas. Entre otras cosa aprenderemos que STEWARDSHIP no solo es de quien da mas,
si no, que es una forma de vivir.
Durante nuestras profundas reflexiones aprenderemos el
significado de STEWARDSHIP también aprenderemos lo
que significa para nuestras vidas personales. Se te pedirá
que reflexiones en tres áreas de STEWARDSHIP y como se
desenvuelven en tu vida:
• TIEMPO – Cuanto tiempo dedicas a la semana para la
oración, tu tiempo como voluntario a las actividades de
la parroquia y a tu comunidad?
• TALENTO – Como estas usando tus talentos para el
mejoramiento de la parroquia y comunidad en general?
• TESOROS – Como ayudas financieramente a la parroquia y sus eventos?
Es mi deseo que durante estas semanas de reflexión en el
significado de STEWARDSHIP tu reconocimiento de la Gloria Del Señor superara cada día, tu relación con El Señor
será reforzada, tu serás llevado a dar inmensas gracias por
las abundancia disfrutadas, y te sentirás con las ganas de
compartir tus bendiciones. Aprenderemos que cuando ayudamos a la parroquia construir una fundación sólida, el resultado; es que todos ganaremos!

III Niedziela Wielkiego Postu
Zbliżała się pora Paschy żydowskiej i Jezus udał się do
Jerozolimy. W świątyni napotkał siedzących za stołami bankierów oraz tych, którzy sprzedawali woły, baranki i gołębie.
Wówczas sporządziwszy sobie bicz ze sznurków, powypędzał wszystkich ze świątyni, także baranki i woły, porozrzucał monety bankierów, a stoły powywracał. Do tych zaś,
którzy sprzedawali gołębie, rzekł: Weźcie to stąd, a z domu
mego Ojca nie róbcie targowiska! Uczniowie Jego przypomnieli sobie, że napisano: Gorliwość o dom Twój pochłonie
Mnie. W odpowiedzi zaś na to Żydzi rzekli do Niego: Jakim
znakiem wykażesz się wobec nas, skoro takie rzeczy czynisz? Jezus dał im taką odpowiedź: Zburzcie tę świątynię, a
Ja w trzech dniach wzniosę ją na nowo. Powiedzieli do Niego Żydzi: Czterdzieści sześć lat budowano tę świątynię, a Ty
ją wzniesiesz w przeciągu trzech dni? On zaś mówił o świątyni swego ciała. Gdy więc zmartwychwstał, przypomnieli
sobie uczniowie Jego, że to powiedział, i uwierzyli Pismu i
słowu, które wyrzekł Jezus. Kiedy zaś przebywał w Jerozolimie w czasie Paschy, w dniu świątecznym, wielu uwierzyło
w imię Jego, widząc znaki, które czynił. Jezus natomiast nie
zwierzał się im, bo wszystkich znał i nie potrzebował niczyjego świadectwa o człowieku. Sam bowiem wiedział, co w
człowieku się kryje.

Drodzy parafianie i przyjaciele,
Bez wątpliwości, wszystko w naszym życia jest darem! Czyż nie jest błogosławieństwem: rodzina, przyjaciele i
wiara? Jakże wdzięczni winniśmy być naszemu Bogu za wielorakie błogosławieństwa, jakimi nas obdarza.
Przez następne kilka tygodni będziemy mieli okazję
zastanowić się głębiej nad obfitością błogosławieństw otrzymanych w naszym życiu. Nasza parafia bierze udział w programie
„Stewardship Awareness”. Przez edukację, modlitwę i refleksję
będziemy mogli bardziej pogłębić świadomość otrzymanych od
Boga błogosławieństw i darów. Wśród wielu tematów, będzie
okazja uświadomić sobie, że „Stewardship – zaangażowanie”
nie jest sprawą dawania więcej, lecz jest to sposób życia.
Podczas tych refleksji nad znaczeniem
„Stewardship”, będziemy odkrywali jak ważne jest w naszym
życiu zaangażowanie. Zapraszam więc każdego z Was, abyście
się zastanowili nad trzema obszarami swego życia:
• CZAS - Ile czasu poświęcasz każdego tygodnia na modlitwę i zaangażowanie się w działalność w swojej parafii?
• TALENT - Jak używasz swoich talentów dla rozwoju twojej
parafii i społeczeństwa?
• SKARB - Jak finansowo wspierasz swoją parafię i inne
dzieła miłosierdzia?
Mam nadzieję, że ten program pomoże każdemu z
nas jeszcze bardziej docenić wszelkie dary, które otrzymujemy
od Boga, a także wzmocni więzy międzyludzkiej solidarności
prowadzącej w konsekwencji do głębszego zjednoczenia z Bogiem.
Proszę o modlitwę w intencji podejmowanych prze
