Stewardship Note. “The greatest among you will be the one who
serves the rest,” Jesus says in today’s Gospel. What wonderful
good news for those who give of their time in service to others!
Word of life. The most profound reason why the campaign for
assisted suicide is a threat, and not an aid, to human freedom has
to do with the very reality of the human person. The founders of
our country declared that each human being has certain
inalienable rights that governments mut PROTECT. The first
right is the right to life. It is named before the right to liberty and
the pursuit of happiness. It is the condition for enjoying all other
rights and all other goods. Each human life is sacred. One cannot
uphold human freedom by undercutting its foundation, the
sacredness of human life, of each person.
THIRTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
The greatest among you must be your servant.
Matthew 23:11
GOD IS IN CHARGE
“Who do you think you are?!” today’s readings
demand. We are brought up short, put in our place, given
a dose of reality. Who is God? Who is in charge? Who
is the greatest?
We begin with a passage from the prophet Malachi, one
of the latest prophets, who wrote after the Jews returned
from Babylon. Calling the people to task in God’s name,
he condemns the divisions and false teachings that have
arisen, reminding them that all were created by the one
God. Paul tells the Thessalonians the same thing, but in
a positive way–praising them for remembering that it is
God who is at work within them.
Finally, the Gospel presents Jesus speaking out against
hypocrisy and vainglory. “You have but one teacher . . .
you have but one Father” (Matthew 23:8,9). We are
firmly put in our place. God is in charge.
ALL SOULS DAY CEMETERY PROCESSION
This Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm, in a spirit of prayer and
loyalty to our deceased loved ones we will gather at Saint Joseph
Garden of Peace Cemetery. On All Souls Day, the Universal
Church entreats God’s mercy on all who still wait in Purgatory to
enter God’s kingdom. It is a time to offer prayers, Masses, and
acts of charity on behalf of our loved ones. It is a unique
opportunity to obtain a plenary indulgence once a day for a
particular soul and partial indulgence as many times as you visit
the cemetery or Basilica, pray for the intention of the Holy Father
and receive the Eucharist or sacrament of Penance if needed.
A special votive light designed for All Souls Day should be
placed on the grave of our loved ones as a sign of our prayerful
remembrance. If your family member is buried elsewhere you are
invited to leave your candle at the foot of the Cross.
We invite all parishioners, parish organizations, the Children
of Mary, Altar Servers and Boy Scouts, to come with their
respective banners and medals to join us on this meaningful day.
Those who cannot walk may come in cars and participate in this
centuries-old prayer service.
On Wednesday, All Souls Day every priest has the privilege to
say three Masses–one for the intention of the Holy Father, second
for all the souls in purgatory and the third in a particular intention.
Page 3
30 October 2011 - 30 pazdziernika 2011r.
During the general intercessions we will read the names of your
loved ones that you submitted in the envelopes called wypominki.
The Masses will begin at 6:30am with a solemn mass at 8:00am for
all deceased parishioners. During the year we offer approximately
40 Masses for those souls you recommended to prayers of the
Church.
Reminder: The Bereavement Ministry cordially invites all

Remembrance on Wednesday, November 2nd at 7pm.

KRONIKA PARAFIALNA
TRZYDZIESTA PIERWSZA NIEDZIELA ZWYKºA
30 païdziernika 2011
„Najwi“kszy z was niech b“dzie waszym s»ug.” (Mt 23, 11)
Jak myÑlisz, kim jesteÑ? Kim jest Bóg? Kto jest najwi“kszy? Dzisiejsze
Wzywajc ludzi do pracy w imieniu Boga,
pot“pia jednoczeÑnie podzia»y i fa»szywych nauczycieli, którzy powstawali w
narodzie. Przypomina, óe wszyscy jesteÑmy stworzeni przez jednego Boga.
Podobnie Pawe» piszc do Tessaloniczan wyraóa swoje zadowolenie z ich
ÑwiadomoÑci z obecnoÑci i dzia»ania Boga poÑród nich. Wreszcie w Ewangelii
Jezus, przemawiajc przeciwko hipokryzji i próónoÑci tych, którzy wzi“li na
siebie odpowiedzialnoу za przywództwo w Izraelu, mówi: „…albowiem jeden
jest wasz nauczyciel… jeden bowiem jest Ojciec wasz…”. Kaódy z nas ma
swoje miejsce i zadanie wyznaczone przez Boga, ale to On wszystkim kieruje
i rozporzdza.
PROCESJA NA CMENTARZU DziÑ po po»udniu, o godz. 14:00, w duchu
modlitwy i przywizania do naszych bliskich, którzy odeszli juó do wiecznoÑci,
gromadzimy si“ na cmentarzu parafialnym. Cz»owiek od Boga przychodzi i do
Boga powraca. Przed kaódy cz»owiekiem stoi alternatywa: niebo albo piek»o.
Wybór ten naleóy do nas. Wszyscy zblióamy si“ do momentu kiedy
przejdziemy do wiecznoÑci i mamy nadziej“, óe miejscem przeóywania
wiecznoÑci b“dzie niebo. W dniu Wszystkich Ðwi“tych celebrujemy radoу
tych wszystkich, którzy osign“li juó wieczne zbawienie. W Dniu Zadusznym
modlitewnego wsparcia. Nasze modlitwy, dobre uczynki, Msza Ñw., uczynki
mi»osierdzia to wspania»e dary jakie moóemy ofiarowaƒ Bogu w ich intencji.
zmar»ymi. Zapraszamy jednoczeÑnie Dzieci Maryi, Ministrantów, Skautów i
wszystkie organizacje parafialne do wzi“cia udzia»u w procesji.
UROCZYSTOЂ WSZYSTKICH ÐWI’TYCH w tym roku obchodzimy we
wtorek. W tym dniu nasze myÑli kieruj si“ ku tym, którzy wychwalaj Boga
w Niebie.
ChrzeÑcijan ïród»em wiary i si»y do pokonywania óyciowych trudnoÑci i
znoszenia przeÑladowa½. Chwa»y nieba dost“puj ci, którzy wiedli heroiczne

Wszystkich Swietych. Pelne wspomien i nostalgii spotkania rodzinne,
nabozenstwa w kosciolach i na cmentarzach, roswietlone noca nekropolie,
zapalane znicze i zywe kwiaty. Wszystko to tworzy niezapomiana atmosfere
tajemniczosci i swietosci.
to on nas nie przeraza, a wrecz odwrotnie, pociaga i fascynuje. Dlaczego? Bo
dotykamy tajemnicy zycia wiecznego.
Nasze wyniesione z domu tradycje i wspomienia gubia sie gdzies posrod
nowych, pociagajacych i kolorowych wydarzen. Czy mozemy jednak zastapic
Wszystkich Swietych celebracja Halloween?
naszej wiary? Odpowiedzmy sobie sami szczerze przed Bogiem....
