The ensemble's popularity began with participation in a long-running series of educational concerts for children broadcast by BBC Radio. Fine Arts Brass has built up an extensive repertoire, embracing all types of work from the Renaissance through to the contemporary avant-garde. The ensemble has already performed over 50 premiere performances of works composed especially for it, by Malcolm Arnold, Robin Holloway, Michael Nyman, John Woorlich and Michael Torke among others. Its musicians are highly flexible in terms of performance style, offer a uniquely rich pallete of sound and play with passion and a particular sense of humour; for this they are constantly receiving invitations to perform.
