BartoszZajaczkowski,PhD Introduction: I am a researcher and a lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering at Wroclaw UniversityofScienceandTechnology(WrUST).Inmarch2009IreceivedmyPhDdegreewithhonours bydefendingathesisonheatandmasstransferprocessesinadsorptionsystems.Thisgavemethe opportunitytoworkasapost-doctoralresearchfellowintheUnitedStatesandintheNetherlands. Currently,IamemployedasanAssistantProfessorintheDepartmentofThermodynamics,Theoryof MachinesandThermalSystemsattheFacultyofMechanicalandPowerEngineering. My research interests include thermal and mechanical processes, particularly in the area of power engineering, environmental engineering and cooling. Currently I focus on three specific research topics:modernrefrigerationtechnologiesforintegratedco-generationandtri-generationsystems(i.e. adsorption refrigeration), low-pressure phase transitions, and implementation of nanoparticles in ordertoincreasephysicalandthermalcapabilitiesofrefrigerants.Ispecializeintheoreticalanalyses based on numerical simulations of complex systems (simulations based on lumped parameter differentialmodelsdescribedwithmultiplebalanceequations). FormanyyearsIhavebeenanactivememberofvariousnon-profitorganizationsforstudentsand researchersincl.theEuropeanStudentsForumAEGEE,theInternationalAssociationfortheExchange ofStudentsforTechnicalExperienceIAESTE,andcurrentlyintheAssociationoftheTop500Innovators ProgramAlumni.
