LETTER FROM THE PASTOR
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
St. Paul reminds us today that we are temples of God and
that the Spirit of God dwells in us. He also warns us against
considering ourselves wise in this age for the wisdom of the
world is foolishness in the eyes of God. Recall that last week
St. Paul made reference to God’s wisdom, mysterious and
hidden from the proud of this world.
It is no wonder that the dangerous divide we suffer in our
nation is in large part a consequence of two things. On one
hand, generally speaking, we have unwisely decided the
public worship of God is no longer a necessity. On the other
hand, in too many places of worship the spirit of the world
seems to hold precedent over humbly surrendering our lives
to the Spirit of God.
In his Epistle to the Romans, St. Paul urges us by the
mercies of God, to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy
and pleasing to God, our spiritual worship. He warns us not
to conform ourselves to this age but rather to be transformed
by the renewal of our minds that we may discern what is the
will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. In this
regard we are cautioned to not grow slack in zeal, but to be
fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, enduring
in affliction, and persevering in prayer.
Precisely for this reason we are challenged here at St.
Stanislaus Kostka to safeguard and maintain our sacred space
for the proper worship of God. It is only through Jesus, and
by the grace of the Holy Spirit that we offer our lives to the
Father for the renewal of our mind, body, soul, and spirit.
Remember, the only spectator in the holy drama of the Sacred
Liturgy is God the Father. All others, including the Son and
the Holy Spirit, are active participants in the sacred worship
of God the Father who has grafted us into the Body of Christ.
We are truly loved sons and daughters of God.
Even in the Sacred Liturgy, the Holy Virgin Mary and
the Communion of Saints intercede on our behalf and
actively worship the Father through Jesus and in the grace of
the Holy Spirit. Truly a hidden and mysterious wisdom –
that wisdom of God which only the humble perceive.
The Annual Catholic Campaign, along with the need to
increase our weekly contributions to the parish, and the
invitation to be a Patron of Our Lady are concerted efforts to
protect the sacred space of St. Stanislaus Kostka. In this
sacred space we are properly nurtured in the charge to be
temples of God, each and every one. In this we make a
worthy contribution to the healing of a deeply divided nation.
Christianity is in a position to lift the nation from the
dregs of society upwards to a place of dignity and respect.
This work of the Spirit flows from our proper worship of
Almighty God which happens every time we humbly step
through the doors of our sacred space in a spirit of gratitude
for what God has done for us. May it be today as it was
yesterday for the well-being and sanctification of tomorrow.

CARTA DEL PÁRROCO
Estimados Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo,
Hoy San Pablo nos recuerda que somos templos de Dios y que
el Espíritu de Dios mora en nosotros. También nos advierte
contra la creencia de que nosotros mismos somos sabios ya que la
sabiduría mundana es tonta ante los ojos de Dios. Recuerden que
la semana pasada San Pablo habló sobre la sabiduría de Dios,
misteriosa y protegida de los orgullosos de este mundo.
No es sorprendente que la gran división que sufrimos en
nuestra nación es en gran parte consecuencia de dos cosas. Por
un lado, en general, hemos tontamente decidido que el culto
público de Dios no es necesario. Por otro lado, en muchos
lugares del culto de Dios el espíritu del mundo ha tomado más
importancia sobre la entrega humilde de nuestras vidas al Espíritu
de Dios.
En su Epístola a los Romanos, San Pablo nos exhorta por
medio de la misericordia de Dios, ofrecer nuestros cuerpos como
un sacrificio vivo, santo y aceptable a Dios, nuestro culto
espiritual. Él nos advierte contra el conformismo de los tiempos
de hoy y más bien ser transformados por medio de la renovación
de nuestras mentes para que así podamos discernir cuál es la
voluntad de Dios, qué es bueno, aceptable, y perfecto. En esto
somos advertidos a no perder el fervor, pero más bien ser
fervorosos en el Espíritu, sirviéndole al Señor, regocijando en la
esperanza, perseverar en la aflicción, y perseverar en la oración.
Precisamente por esta razón somos desafiados aquí en San
Estanislao Kostka a proteger y mantener nuestro espacio sagrado
para el culto apropiado de Dios. Es sólo por Jesús, y por la gracia
del Espíritu Santo que ofrecemos nuestras vidas al Padre para la
renovación de nuestra mente, cuerpo, alma, y espíritu.
Recuerden, que el único espectador en el drama santo de la
Liturgia Sagrada es Dios Padre. Todos los demás, incluyendo al
Hijo y al Espíritu Santo, son participes activos en el culto sagrado
de Dios Padre quien nos ha injertado dentro del Cuerpo de Cristo.
Somos verdaderamente hijos e hijas amados de Dios.
Aún en la Liturgia Sagrada, la Santa Virgen María y la
Comunión de los Santos quienes interceden por nosotros y de una
manera active dan culto al Padre por medio de Jesús y en la
gracia del Espíritu Santo.
Verdaderamente una sabiduría
misteriosa y protegida – esa sabiduría de Dios que solamente los
humildes pueden percibir.
La Campaña Anual Católica, a parte de la necesidad de
incrementar nuestras contribuciones semanales a la parroquia, y
la invitación de ser Padrinos de Nuestra Señora son esfuerzos
concentrados para proteger el espacio sagrado de San Estanislao
Kostka. En este espacio somos nutridos apropiadamente en el
cargo de ser templos de Dios, todos y cada uno. En esto hacemos
una contribución digna a la sanación de una nación que está
profundamente dividida.
La cristiandad se encuentra en una posición de levantar a la
nación de las disposiciones de la sociedad hacia un lugar lleno de
dignidad y respeto. Este trabajo del Espíritu fluye de nuestro
culto apropiado al Dios Todopoderoso lo cual sucede cada vez

Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie,
Święty Paweł przypomina nam dzisiaj, że jesteśmy świątynią Boga i że Duch Boży mieszka w nas. On także ostrzega nas przed tym,
abyśmy teraz uznawali siebie za mądrych, kiedy wszyscy posiadają mądrości tego świata, bo to jest głupstwem w oczach Boga.
Przypomnijmy, że w zeszłym tygodniu Święty Paweł odwołał się do Bożej mądrości, tajemniczej i ukrytej przed dumnymi tego świata.
Nic więc dziwnego, że niebezpieczny podział, który cierpimy w naszym kraju, jest w dużej mierze konsekwencją dwóch rzeczy. Z jednej
strony, ogólnie rzecz biorąc, postanowiliśmy, że nie jest już publiczny konieczny kult Boga. Z drugiej strony, w zbyt wielu przypadkach
wydaje się, że kult ducha świata posiadać pierwszeństwo przed pokornym oddaniem swojego życia Duchowi Bożemu.
W Liście do Rzymian Święty Paweł zachęca nas przez miłosierdzie Boże, aby poświecić nasze ciała jako żywą ofiarę, świętą i miłą Bogu.
On ostrzega nas, aby nie upodobniać się do obecnych czasów, ale raczej, abyśmy przekształcili się i odnowili nasze umysły oraz, abyśmy
umieli rozpoznać, jaka jest wola Boża: co jest dobre, przyjemne i co doskonałe. W związku z tym jesteśmy ostrzegani, abyśmy nie
zmniejszali naszej gorliwości, ale żebyśmy byli napełnieni duchem i służyli Panu, abyśmy byli napełnieni radością, znosili uciski, i trwali
na modlitwie.
Właśnie dlatego tutaj w kościele Św. Stanisława Kostki jesteśmy wzywani, aby zabezpieczać i utrzymać nasz ą świętą przestrzeń i aby
właściwie głosić kult Boga. Tylko przez Jezusa, przez łaskę Ducha Świętego, oferujemy nasze życie Ojcu w celu odnowienia naszego
umysłu, ciała, duszy i ducha. Pamiętajmy, że jedynym widzem w dramacie świętej liturgii jest Bóg Ojciec. Wszyscy inni, łącznie z Synem
Bożym i Duchem Świętym, są aktywnymi uczestnikami świętej modlitwy Boga Ojca, który włączył nas w Ciało Chrystusa. Jesteśmy
naprawdę kochanymi synami i córkami Boga.
Nawet w liturgii świętej, Najświętsza Maryja Panna i Wszyscy Święciwstawiają się za nami i aktywnie oddają cześć Ojcu przez Jezusa oraz
w łasce Ducha Świętego. Naprawdę ukrytą i tajemniczą mądrością jest mądrość Boga, którą jedynie skromni dostrzegają.
Doroczna Kwesta Katolicka, potrzeba zwiększenia naszych cotygodniowych składek parafialnych i zaproszeniem do zastania Patronem
Matki Bożej są wspólnym wysiłki, aby chronić te święte miejsce kościół Św. Stanisława Kostki. W tym świętym miejscu jesteśmy
właściwie pielęgnowani, aby każdy z nas był świątynią Boga. Poprzez to dokonujemy godnego wkładu, aby uzdrowić głęboko podzielony
naród.

TWELVE DIRECTIVES FOR ST. STANISLAUS KOSTKA
1. Live fully committed to prayer & include in your prayers, intentions for the spiritual, moral, & structural viability of
St. Stanislaus Kostka. Offer a rosary daily for the Church universal & St. Stanislaus Kostka in particular. Spend time
with the Lord in the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
2. Be firm in commitment & fidelity to fulfill the Sunday obligation to participate in the Sunday worship of Almighty
God, here at St. Stanislaus Kostka.
3. Give witness to Christ by inviting others to join us here at St. Stanislaus Kostka for the celebration of Mass, especially
on Sundays.
4. Be hospitable and genuinely welcome each other before and after Mass. Let no one leave here feeling like a stranger.
5. Dress appropriately for the divine worship of Almighty God. How we present ourselves before God and each other in
the sacred space of worship speaks to the seriousness of our commitment to the faith. Ours is a Divine Opera!
6. Live daily lives in conformity with the Commandments of God, in humility, and with faith, hope, and charity. Be
forgiving, full of compassion and mercy. Live the Truth with integrity. Be just.
7. Be generous with regard to weekly offering. An hour of one’s weekly wage should be the minimum of what we offer
at Sunday Mass.
8. Join the “100 Patrons.” Over and above the weekly offering, commit to an additional $1,000 yearly, that is, a little less
than an additional $20 a week. The “100 Patrons” are anonymous. Last year, much needed $125,000 donated through
the “100 Patrons” kept us from falling into operating deficit.
9. Participate in one way or another in parish fundraising events. You can’t imagine how this helps contribute to the
financial sustenance of the parish. Every little bit helps.
10. Include St. Stanislaus Kostka in your will and encourage others to do likewise. There is nothing more important in
life than to keep faith alive. The parish keeps faith alive so she can, among other things, bury the dead with dignity and
in the realm of the sacred. From God we come, to God we go, in God let us live.
11. Discern your personal participation in the ministries of the Church. As the Lord says, “The harvest is plenty, laborers
are few” or elsewhere, “Who shall we send? Who will go for us?” Especially pray for vocations to the priesthood and
religious life. Pray for Christ centered marriages and families.
12. Do your part to keep St. Stanislaus Kostka clean, immaculate, sacred and silent that God’s beauty be
perceived and his voice heard.

PROJECTS - REPAIRS - IMPROVEMENTS
Through the generous donation of time, talent, and resources of parishioners and friends of St. Stanislaus Kostka the following
projects, repairs, and improvements to the church have saved the parish an estimated $1,219,250. Please understand that wherever
you see some amount of savings next to various items it means how much the church saved on the projects. In many cases, projects
were 100% donated and cost the parish $0. In other cases, we have been given heavily discounted pricing such as the boiler or
elevator repair which resulted in hundreds thousands of dollars in savings. Many of these projects had to get done not to just
beautify the church but to address life-safety endangering issues. We should recognize that if the parish had to pay the actual cost of
all these projects it would cost us $1,219,250.

Installation of 3 iconic images of The Divine Mercy which will be a beacon leading pilgrims from the
expressway into St. Stanislaus Kostka, Sanctuary of The Divine Mercy. New lighting installed as well.
Installation of heavy-duty steel sign with lighting to name & identify the parish & its schedule of Masses
Partial restore of High Altar; full restoration of Our Lady of Czestochowa & Our Lady of Guadalupe Altars
Reupholstering of the Sanctuary kneelers around the High Altar.
Facade of the church washed & some minor tuck-pointing work on the stone around foundation of church.
Seal-coating all parking lots & marking spaces for parking. Work had to be done to preserve parking lots.
Rebuilding concrete sidewalk along the school playground. It was cracked and a hazard to the school kids.
Rebuilding stairwell leading from sacristies to soup kitchen & lower church: was a hazard to walk on.
Replacing linoleum in sacristies with hardwood floors. Old floor was in bad condition.
Repairing/repainting damaged walls in the corridors and parlors of the rectory.
Building new altar rail.
Repair and restoration of all side devotional areas of the sanctuary.
Adorning the property with 23 foot cross and artistic rendition of the Old Testament Ark of the Covenant.
Replacement of the pews while maintaining the original sides of the old pews to the new ones.
Found company willing to fix school elevator & make compliant with city code. All companies called for
$400,000 replacement of elevator since no profit to fix old one. Work done since elevator not up to code.
Church floors completely refinished: old carpet taken out & original floors refinished.
Replacement of old light fixtures in the rectory corridors and parlors.
Repainting of school hallways & gym & complete stripping / waxing of all floors during the summer 2016.
Statue of Sister Maria Teresa Dudzik to be completed for this upcoming Easter.
Found company to repair leaking boiler in church: leaking. Many companies proposed to replace leaking
boiler at cost of $80,000. Almost no company wanted to fix boiler since too risky & little profit.
Fence installed around parking lot by school. Work done as non-parishioners using parking lot.
30 new foldable cafeteria tables for school. School still had old heavy tables - hard to clean floor properly.
Donation of 4 new dining room tables for the rectory dining room.
Heating system complete cleaning: mineral deposit in boilers/pipes. Work done to increase heat efficiency
Concrete poured to extend sidewalk between school & church. Work done to decrease maintenance.
Installation of the kiosk in the vestibule of the church. Kiosk donated to facilitate electronic giving.
Monthly extermination/pest control services for church, school, and soup kitchen.
Window replaced in rectory living room. Double-pane window. Exterior pane cracked.
Church tower clock lights repaired. They were not working.
Donation of speaker system in church balcony for organist and choir.
Donation of various brass works and brass polishing in the sanctuary.
Church & school roof damaged from high winds in 2016. Only paid deductible, insurance paid difference.
Church water tank replaced since it was leaking.
The school outside boiler room heater was replaced. The school boiler room is located outside of the
school. It has a separate heater so that the pipes don’t freeze during the winter. The heater went out and had
to be replaced.

Salaries of staff: pastor, operations director for church/school, secretary, CCD
director, 2 organists, accounting assistant. We save money because we have 1
priest serving entire parish in 3 languages, share operations director 50% of
time with another parish, have only 2 full-time staff (pastor/secretary), do not
have any maintenance staff. Church cleaning/maintenance done volunteered.
Health insurance of pastor, 50% of operations director, secretary.
Federally required employment taxes that must be paid.
Employee pension, basic life insurance, social security benefits.
Support of various church ministries.
Bulletin printing, offertory envelope printing, CCD books.
Church database software, postage, payment processing, payroll processing,
Brink's secure transportation, copy machine, service fees.
Priest vehicle lease and vehicle repair.

Garbage pick-up. This used to be a free service to all churches but now the
city requires parish to pay a private garbage company for garbage disposal.
We keep our maintenance costs to a minimum but we still need to buy
cleaning supplies, pay for snow removal & salting of parking lots (average
$4000/year), emergency heat company calls, sewer rodding, organ tuning,
minor repairs.
Keeping the church open 24/7 has security costs associated with it. We have
security at night to keep our sanctuary safe for Adorers. This is an expense
that is integral to our mission. Atlas Security has generously donated $6,000
of security hours to help us offset this cost.

Each parish pays an annual assessment for Archdiocesan programs. This
supports the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center which provides savings & loan
services to parishes: administers employee benefits, property & casualty
insurance program; provides financial support to those parishes unable to
sustain themselves; operates a seminary system for the education of priests;
provides nutritional lunch & breakfast program for students; publishes a
newspaper & various liturgical-related publications; invests available funds.
St Stan's has been a huge beneficiary of the Archdiocese's generosity.
Each parish pays an annual PRMAA assessment. The Priests' Retirement and
Mutual Aid Association administers retirement, disability, health, other
benefits for the priests of the Archdiocese.
Each parish pays an annual property insurance premium to the Archdiocese
for coverage. Property casualty risks of the parish are covered by a selfinsurance program administered through the Archdiocese.
Other charges incurred by the parish such as cost of advertising, religious ad
book purchases, hosting meetings, banners, flyers, input costs of fundraisers.

Salarios de los trabajadores, director de operaciones de la iglesia/escuela, secretaria,
directora del catecismo, 2 organistas, asistente de contabilidad. Ahorramos dinero
porque tenemos 1 sacerdote que le sirve a toda la parroquia en 3 idiomas, director
de operaciones comparte 50% de su tiempo con otra parroquia, sólo tenemos 2
trabajadores de tiempo completo (párroco y secretaria), no tenemos trabajador de
mantenimiento. La limpieza y mantenimiento es realizado por voluntarios.
Seguro de Salud: párroco, 50% del director de operaciones, secretaria.
Impuestos que los empleadores deben pagar por sus trabajadores al gobierno.
Pensión, seguro de vida básico, beneficios del seguro social para los trabajadores.

First Friday Evenings before Mass from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
God speaks to us every day. You can hear Him if you listen.
Contemplatives in Action is a group of men and women who
are seeking to find “God in all things.” Through the Examen
Prayer of St. Ignatius Loyola we see how the Lord is working
in our lives in the moments of each day.
We contemplate the word of God. "Contemplation" is the word
St. Ignatius used to describe the type of prayer he recommends
in that part of the Spiritual Exercises where he shows us how to
grow in intimacy with our Lord. After listening to the Gospel,
we have a conversation about how the Lord is speaking to us
and inviting us to respond through our actions.

2017 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL
February is the start of the Annual Catholic Appeal, please
consider your donation for this year’s appeal. In addition to
providing for ministries and services throughout the
Archdiocese, the Appeal also funds services that are of great
help to ministries here in our Parish. When our parish reaches
its goal of $16,000 in paid pledges, 100% of additional funds
received will be returned to the Parish. Please give generously
to the 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal.
100 PATRONS
Join the “100 Patrons.” Over and above the weekly offering,
commit to an additional $1,000 yearly, that is, a little less than
an additional $20 a week. The “100 Patrons” are anonymous.
Last year, much needed $125,000 donated through the “100
Patrons” kept us from falling into operating deficit.

Los bautismos son el primer y tercer sábado de cada mes
a las 11a.m. Las pláticas se llevan a cabo el martes de la
misma semana del bautismo a las 7:00 p.m. en la planta
baja de la iglesia.
Druga kolekta zebrana podczas Mszy św. w dniu dzisiejszym
przeznaczona jest na Doroczną Kwestę Katolicką.
ADORACIÓN EUCARÍSTICA
Vuelve a casa amado hijo y toma tiempo para visitar a
Jesús Sacramentado. Las puertas están abiertas 24 horas
los 7 días a la semana. Favor de hacer tiempo en tu
ajenda para visitar a Dios. Favor de comprometer un día
y una hora. Ven, Jesús te espera.
LIBRO DE INTENCIONES PARA EL 2017
El libro de intenciones para el 2017 ya está abierto. La
donación para una Misa entre semana es de $10 y en
domingo es $20.
NUEVOS FELIGRESES SON BIENVENIDOS
Si le gustaría ser feligrés de la Parroquia de San
Estanislao Kostka puede tomar un sobre que se encuentra
sobre la mesa en la parte de atrás de la iglesia. Favor de
llenarlo y colocarlo en la canasta de la colecta dominical
junto con su ofrenda. Gracias.

Druga kolekta zebrana podczas Mszy św. 25 i 26 lutego
przeznaczona jest na potrzeby parafii. Prosimy o umieszczanie
kopert na Doroczną Kwestę Katolicką z drugą kolektą.
ŻYCIE PARAFII
24-GODZINNA ADORACJA NAJŚWIĘTSZEGO SAKRAMENTU
24-godzinna adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu odbywa się w
kościele (poza czasem gdy są odprawiane Msze Św.).
Zwracamy się o pomoc aby kontynuować 24-godzinną
adorację. Zachęcamy do podjęcia zobowiązania, wybrania
jednej godziny albo też takiej ilości czasu jaką możecie i
zapisania się na adorację. Formularze znajdują się z tyłu
kościoła.
WOLONTARIUSZE
Zawsze potrzebujemy wolontariuszy, aby pomóc nam w
utrzymaniu naszego kościóła. Szukamy również firm które
podarowałyby swoje usługi. Jeśli chcieliby Państwo
dobrowolnie podarować swój czas lub usługi biznesowe
zadzwonić proszę do Andrzeja na 773-865-4486. Dzięki
naszym wolontariuszom możemy utrzymać nasz kościół
niskimi kosztami.

Stanisława Kostki. Proszę przyjść do biura parafialnego w
godzinach otwarcia lub zadzwonić w tygondiu aby się zapisać.

Można zapisywać intencje na Mszę Św w 2017 roku.
Stypendium na Mszę Św w dni powszednie jest $10.
Stypendium na niedzielną Mszę Św jest $ 20. Msze można
zapisać w biurze parafialnym lub przed Mszą Św.
