organizatorów tej prestiżowej imprezy: władz samorządowych Bydgoszczy oraz Polskiego Związku Lekkiej Atletyki.
would like to give a warm welcome to the participants of the IAAF World Junior Championships
in Bydgoszcz. Following the 1st IAAF World Junior
Championships – Under 18 years, under 23 European Athletics Championships, and the European Cup, the king of
sports rules the city once again. It is a great honour and
proof of recognition for the organisers of this prestigious
event: for the local government in Bydgoszcz and the
Polish Union of Athletics.
S Doceniając rangę i znaczenie Mistrzostw dla Polski oraz
w przekonaniu, że udział wielu utalentowanych zawodników
uczyni z tych zawodów wspaniałe widowisko, objąłem Mistrzostwa Świata Juniorów w Lekkiej Atletyce Bydgoszcz 2008 honorowym patronatem Prezydenta Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej.
Przez kilka lipcowych dni Stadion im. Zdzisława Krzyszkowiaka, jednego z najwybitniejszych powojennych polskich długodystansowców, rekordzisty świata, mistrza olimpijskiego
i mistrza Europy stanie się areną zmagań dla blisko dwóch
tysięcy zawodników z ponad 150 krajów. Jestem przekonany,
że bydgoska publiczność przyjmie wszystkich serdecznie, dopingując do zmagań w duchu fair play.
Obecne Mistrzostwa odbywają się w przededniu wielkiego
olimpijskiego święta. Już niebawem, w sierpniu 2008 roku,
zapłonie w Pekinie znicz XXIX Letnich Igrzysk. Życzę przybyłym
do Bydgoszczy lekkoatletom, aby uzyskiwane w sportowej karierze wyniki pozwoliły im sięgnąć po olimpijskie laury.
Serdecznie pozdrawiam organizatorów Mistrzostw Świata Juniorów w Lekkiej Atletyce oraz wszystkich sportowców i trenerów. Życzę zawodnikom powodzenia w walce o mistrzowskie tytuły. Życzę władzom Bydgoszczy i Polskiego Związku Lekkiej
Atletyki satysfakcji z udanejj imprezy, a kibicom wiele sportowych emocji i zadowolenia z osiągnięć polskiej reprezentacji.

I Appreciating the rank and the importance of the Championships for Poland and convinced the conviction that
many talented athletes will make these competitions
a wonderful sporting event, as President of the Republic of
Poland I have accepted the patronage of the IAAF World
Junior Championships in Athletics Bydgoszcz 2008.
For several days in July, the Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium
bearing the name of the best Polish post-war longdistance
runner, world record holder, Olympic and European Champion, will become the venue of the competition for almost
2000 athletes from over 150 countries. I am convinced
that Bydgoszcz sports fans will cordially welcome all
guests, keeping our fingers crossed for their success and
encouraging them to play fair in their contest.
These Championships take place on the very eve of the
great Olympic celebration. In August 2008, the flame of
the XXIX Summer Olympiad will soon be burning in Beijing.
I wish the athletes who will be attending Bydgoszcz every
success so that they may reach their sports goal enabling
them to pave the way to Olympic laurels.
I would like to express my warmest greetings to the organisers of the IAAF World Junior Championships, to all the
athletes and their coaches. I wish the athletes success when
competing in the championship’s titles. I wish the Bydgoszcz
authorities and the Polish Union of Athletics satisfaction
from a successful event and to the fans that they enjoy
the experience when the Polish team achieves and wins.

J e souhaite très cordialement la bienvenue aux participants des Championnat du Monde Juniors de’IAAF
à Bydgoszcz.
Après les 1ers Championnats du Monde Juniors des moins de
18 ans, les Championnats d’Europe des moins de 23 ans et la
Coupe d’Europe, une fois de plus le roi du sport règne dans
cette ville. C’est une grande distinction et un témoignage de
reconnaissance pour les organisateurs de ce prestigieux événement – pour les autorités régionales de Bydgoszcz et pour
I’Union Polonaise d’Athlétisme.
Appréciant le rang et l’importance de ces Championnats
pour la Pologne, et persuadé que de nombreux athlètes
talentueux feront de cette compétition un magnifique
évènement sportif, j’ai accepté en tant que Président
de la République de Pologne le haut patronage de ces
Championnats du Monde Juniors d’Athlétisme de l’IAAF
Bydgoszcz 2008.
Pendant ces quelques jours de juillet, le Stade Zdzislaw
Krzyszkowiak (du nom d’un des plus éminents coureurs
polonais de longue distance d’après guerre, champion
du monde, champion olympique et champion d’Europe)
deviendra l’arène de compétition pour près de deux mille
athlètes de plus de 150 pays. Je suis convaincu que les
fans sportifs de Bydgoszcz accueilleront cordialement tous
les invités, croisant les doigts pour leur succès et les encourageant à soutenir l’esprit de fair-play.
Cette année, les Championnats se dérouleront la veille
de la grande fête olympique. Très bientôt en août 2008,
la flamme des XXIX Jeux Olympiques d’été sera allumée
à Pékin. Je souhaite aux athlètes venus à Bydgoszcz que
les résultats obtenus dans leur carrière sportive leur permettent de gagner aussi des lauriers olympiques.
Je tiens à transmettre mes meilleures salutations aux
organisateurs des Championnats du Monde Juniors de
l’IAAF ainsi qu’à tous les sportifs et leurs entraîneurs.
Je souhaite aux athlètes de remporter des victoires pendant ce noble concours. Quant aux autorités de Bydgoszcz
et de l’Union Polonaise d’Athlétisme, je leur souhaite
une manifestationréussie. Enfin pour le public beaucoup
d’émotions et de satisfaction pour les réussites de la représentation polonaise.

est avec grand plaisir que j’écris ces
quelques lignes pour le Bulletin destiné
aux organisateurs des Championnats du
Monde Juniors de l’IAAF de Bydgoszcz. Cette cité du
nord de la Pologne, baignée par la Brda et la Vistule,
est relativement modeste en termes de population
(400 000 habitants) mais elle est capable de rivaliser
avec les plus grandes villes dès lors qu’il s’agit de la
passion de l’athlétisme. Bydgoszcz avait déjà accueilli
la toute première édition des Championnats du Monde
Cadets, ainsi qu’une longue liste de compétitions qui
avaient rencontré le plus vif succès. Nous sommes donc
particulièrement heureux de revenir avec une manifestation qui revêt une telle importance pour l’avenir de
notre sport.

Polsce, nad rzekami Brdą i Wisłą, jest wprawdzie stosunkowo niewielkie, o populacji 400 000 mieszkańców,
ale pod względem miłości do lekkiej atletyki jest prawdziwym olbrzymem. Bydgoszcz była gospodarzem pierwszych
w historii Mistrzostw Świata Kadetów, a następnie kolejnych zwieńczonych wieloma sukcesami imprez lekkoatletycznych, i jesteśmy szczęśliwi, wracając tam z imprezą,
która tak wiele znaczy dla przyszłości naszej dyscypliny.

Le monde d’aujourd’hui file à vive allure et les choix les
plus variés s’offrent à nos adolescents, qu’il s’agisse de distractions, de sport ou même de loisirs. Aussi devons-nous
travailler d’arrache-pied pour assurer la pérennité de l’athlétisme et pour qu’il y ait toujours de grands athlètes.
Aujourd’hui, je suis convaincu que notre sport doit impérativement atteindre cette catégorie d’âge. Nous devons
les aider afin qu’ils se prennent à leur tour de passion
pour notre sport. Quand j’étais jeune, l’athlétisme constituait la base même de l’enseignement sportif a l’école.
Que les adolescents deviennent ensuite footballeurs ou
nageurs, ils partageaient tous l’expérience commune de
l’athlétisme. Bien sûr, parce que nous avions tous fait
de l’athlétisme, il était évident que les plus talentueux
étaient repérés et devaient réaliser par la suite de grandes
choses.
Pour cette raison, il est du devoir de l’IAAF de ne jamais
laisser passer l’occasion de semer les graines de l’avenir
afin de s’assurer qu’en 2012, au moment du centenaire de l’IAAF, l’athlétisme retrouve sa place de sport
numéro un a l’école et séduise de nombreux jeunes.
Les Championnats du Monde Juniors offrent une occasion unique d’aider les athlètes en herbe a acquérir
une précieuse expérience, à améliorer leurs meilleures
performances et à leur permettre de nouer des relations
d’amitié avec leurs adversaires venus des quatre coins
de la planète.

J W dzisiejszym szybko pędzącym świecie nastolatki mają
tak wiele wyborów, tak wiele możliwości rozrywki, nie
tylko w odniesieniu do wyboru dyscypliny sportu, ale
również innych form spędzania wolnego czasu, że nasza
dyscyplina musi pracować niezwykle ciężko, aby być pewnym, iż wychowa w przyszłości wielkich lekkoatletów.
Jestem dzisiaj przekonany, że nasza dyscyplina musi
w stanowczy sposób wyjść do tej grupy wiekowej;
musimy zachęcić ich do żarliwej miłości do naszej dyscypliny. Za czasów mojej młodości lekkoatletyka stanowiła podstawy sportowego programu naszej szkoły,
co oznaczało, że niezależnie czy młodzież ostatecznie
wybierała piłkę nożną czy też pływanie, wszyscy wywodzili swe korzenie z lekkiej atletyki. Oczywiście, ponieważ wszyscy trenowaliśmy lekkoatletykę, bardziej
prawdopodobne było, że ci utalentowani zostaną odkryci i będą kontynuować treningi, by osiągnąć wiele
w tej dyscyplinie.
Dlatego też obowiązkiem IAAF jest siać ziarno tam, gdzie
to możliwe, by w setną rocznicę założenia IAAF, w 2012 r.,
lekkoatletyka była ponownie najważniejszą dyscypliną
sportową w szkołach i atrakcyjnym wyzwaniem dla młodych ludzi. Mistrzostwa Świata Juniorów są niepowtarzalną szansą, by pomóc zawodnikom zyskać cenne doświadczenie, poprawić życiowe osiągnięcia i zbudować
przyjaźnie z rywalami z każdego zakątka świata. Lamine Diack

I am delighted to write a few words for this Bulletin of
the organisers of the IAAF World Junior Championships
in Bydgoszcz. This city in northern Poland, on the
Brda and Vistula rivers, may be relatively small in size, with
a population of 400 000, but in the meaning of love for
athletics it is a giant. Bydgoszcz hosted the first ever edition of the IAAF World Youth Championships, and a succession of other competitions with great success and we
are delighted to be going back there with a competition
that means a lot for the future of our sport.
In today’s fast paced world, teenagers have so many
choices, so many distractions, not only when it comes to
choosing a sport, but choosing other leisure activities as
well, that our sport is working really hard to ensure that
we continue to have great athletes in the future.
I am convinced today that our sport must reach out in an
assertive way to this age group; we must encourage them to
fall passionately in love with our sport. When I was young,
athletics formed the basis of our school sport curriculum,
which meant that regardless of whether youngsters ended
up being footballers or swimmers, they all shared a common background as athletes. Of course, because all of us
did athletics, it was more likely that the talented ones would be discovered and would go on to achieve great things
in our sport.
For this reason it is a duty of the IAAF to plant seeds wherever it can, to ensure that by the time of our centenary
in 2012, Athletics is once again the first sport in schools
and an attractive challenge for young people. The World
Junior Championships offer a unique opportunity for helping athletes to gain valuable experience, to improve personal bests, and to build friendships with their rivals from
every corner of the world.

przyszłego roku. Impreza ta odbędzie się w Bydgoszczy –
– prawdziwej stolicy lekkiej atletyki w Polsce. To tu odbywały się największe lekkoatletyczne imprezy rangi europejskiej i światowej.

On behalf of the Polish Athletic Association
I would like to express my immense joy for
having been granted the organisation of the IAAF World
Junior Championships in 2008 – the most important
event of the year in this age category. This event is to
take place in Bydgoszcz – the true capital of athletics in
Poland. This is the place where the greatest world and
European events have been held.
Pragnę przypomnieć, iż to właśnie Bydgoszcz była gospodarzem I w historii Mistrzostw Świata do lat 17. Mistrzostwa te zakończyły się wielkim sukcesem. Teraz po
latach spotkają się w Bydgoszczy najlepsi juniorzy świata. Zarówno Polski Związek Lekkiej Atletyki, jak i Władze
Miasta Bydgoszczy szykują się do organizacji tej imprezy
z ogromnym zaangażowaniem. Chcąc zapewnić bardzo
dobre warunki startu umożliwiające zawodnikom uzyskanie jak najlepszych wyników sportowych, specjalnie na tę
imprezę przebudowywany jest stadion Zawiszy – będzie to
najnowocześniejszy obiekt lekkoatletyczny w Polsce.
I would like to remind you that Bydgoszcz hosted the 1st
in history World Youth Championships in history. These
championships were a great success. Now, several years
later, the best world juniors will meet in Bydgoszcz. The
Polish Athletic Association and Bydgoszcz city authorities are preparing the organisation of this event with
great commitment. Aiming to ensure excellent conditions
which will enable athletes to achieve the best possible
results, the Zawisza stadium is being rebuilt specially for
this event – it will become the most modern athletic venue in Poland.
Jestem głęboko przekonana, iż Mistrzostwa Świata Juniorów będą wspaniałą imprezą i wpiszą się złotymi zgłoskami
w historię zarówno polskiej lekkiej atletyki, jak i Polskiego
Związku Lekkiej Atletyki. Zawodnikom życzę uzyskania
w sportowej rywalizacji wielu rekordowych wyników,
a wszystkim Uczestnikom wywiezienia pięknych wspomnień z pobytu w Bydgoszczy i w Polsce. Serdecznie wszystkich pozdrawiam, czekamy na Was z otwartymi sercami!

I’m truly convinced that the IAAF World Junior Championships will be a splendid event and will go down in
the history of Polish athletics and Polish Athletic Association. I wish the athletes many records, and to all the
participants many beautiful souvenirs from your stay in
Bydgoszcz and Poland. With my best greetings to you all,

Au nom de la Fédération Polonaise d’Athlétisme
je voudrais exprimer mon immense joie de me
trouver à la tête de l’organisation des 12èmes Championnats du Monde Juniors de l’IAAF – événement le plus important de cette catégorie d’âge en 2008. Cet événement
aura lieu à Bydgoszcz – véritable capitale de l’athlétisme
en Pologne. C’est ici ou les plus grandes épreuves d’importance européenne et mondiale ont pris place.
Je souhaiterais vous rappeler que ce fut justement à Bydgoszcz, que furent organisés pour la première fois dans
l’histoire, les Championnats du Monde des moins de
17 ans. Cet événement s’est avéré être un grand succès.
Maintenant, des années plus tard, les meilleurs juniors du
Monde vont se rencontrer. La Fédération Polonaise d’Athlétisme et les autorités de la ville de Bydgoszcz, se préparent à l’organisation de cet événement avec grand sérieux.
Désireux d’assurer de bonnes conditions de participation
pour permettre aux athlètes d’obtenir les meilleurs résultats, nous reconstruisons actuellement le stade Zawisza,
spécialement pour cet événement. Ce sera par la suite le
plus moderne de Pologne.
Je suis sincèrement persuadée que les Championnats du
Monde Juniors seront un événement remarquable et qu’ils
entreront aussi dans l’histoire de l’athlétisme polonais et de
la Fédération Polonaise d’Athlétisme. Je souhaite aux Compétiteurs de battre de nombreux records et à tous les Participants de garder un bon souvenir de leur séjour a Bydgoszcz
et en Pologne. Avec tous mes meilleurs souhaits pour chacun d’entre vous, nous vous attendons tous à bras ouverts.

areną dla lekkoatletów rośnie w oczach, a Komitet Organizacyjny robi wszystko, by zawody zostały przygotowane na
najwyższym poziomie. Z nieskrywaną radością zapraszamy
do Bydgoszczy wszystkich miłośników „królowej sportu”
chcących uczestniczyć w szczególnym wydarzeniu.

We are finalising the preparations, the
proverbial crossing of the ‘T’s and dotting of the ‘I’s; the
new Zawisza stadium with the fabulous, modern athletics
arena is growing before our eyes and the Organising Committee is doing everything possible to ensure the event
will be prepared to the highest standards. It is with great
pleasure that we invite to Bydgoszcz all lovers of “the King
of Sports” wanting to participate in this special event.
O Na starcie staną zawodnicy z niemal dwustu państw
świata. Współzawodnictwu blisko dwóch tysięcy młodych zawodników, osobiście i za pośrednictwem mediów,
kibicować będą miliony. Nie liczby są jednak w prawdziwym sporcie najważniejsze, ale duch fair-play, szczególna
atmosfera stadionu i wspólne przeżywanie radości zwycięstw szlachetnych, sportowych wartości.
Spotkajmy się w lipcu w Bydgoszczy! Niezapomniane chwile
staną się naszym udziałem. Wspólnie zapiszemy najważniejsze rozdziały sportowych kronik. Wzbogacimy lekkoatletyczne tradycje naszym entuzjazmem i radością.

W Competitors from almost two hundred nations worldwide
will line up at the start. Millions of fans will be cheering
the nearly two thousand young competitors, either in person, or through the media. However, sporting records are
not the most important, but rather, the spirit of fair play,
the special atmosphere of the stadium and the shared enjoyment of experiencing noble sporting values.
Let’s meet in Bydgoszcz in July! Unforgettable moments
will be shared by all. Together we will write the most important chapters in sporting history. We will enrich the
athletics tradition with our enthusiasm and enjoyment.

N ous comptons déjà les jours jusqu’aux
Championnats du Monde Juniors de l’IAAF.
Les préparatifs sont en route: les travaux
du nouveau stade de Zawisza avec une magnifique arène moderne pour les athlètes, progressent devant nos
yeux et le Comité d’organisation fait tout son possible
pour une préparation des épreuves au plus haut niveau.
C’est avec une grande joie que nous invitons à Bydgoszcz
tous les amateurs de „la reine des sports” qui voudraient
assister à cet événement particulier.
Deux cents pays du monde entier vont participer
à ces Championnats. Des millions d’amateurs Sportifs
assisteront personnellement ou par l’intermédiaire des
médias aux compétitions regroupant environ deux mille
jeunes concurrents. Toutefois dans le sport ce ne sont pas
les performances qui comptent mais l’esprit de fair-play,
l’ambiance du stade et le fait d’éprouver ensemble la joie
des victoires et des nobles valeurs sportives.
Alors, retrouvons nous tous en juillet à Bydgoszcz! Nous
allons vivre des moments inoubliables. Nous allons écrire
ensemble les plus importants chapitres de notre histoire
sportive. Nous enrichirons la tradition athlétique de notre
enthousiasme et de notre joie.

Województwo kujawsko-pomorskie i szczególnie Bydgoszcz
to miejsca obrosłe bogatą lekkoatletyczną tradycją. Tu wychowało się wielu rekordzistów i medalistów mistrzostw
świata i igrzysk olimpijskich. Jedna z takich postaci, wybitna
polska sprinterka i płotkarka Teresa Ciepły, trzykrotna medalistka olimpijska, była zawodniczką Zawiszy Bydgoszcz
i trenowała na bydgoskich bieżniach. Na organizowanych
co roku lekkoatletycznych imprezach najwyższej rangi miasto nad Brdą gości u siebie najlepszych na świecie biegaczy,

Region of Poland, especially Bydgoszcz is a particular
place that has a rich athletic tradition. Here many record
breakers, World Cup and Olympic medal winners have
grown. One of such notabilities, an outstanding Polish
sprinter and hurdler Teresa Ciepły, a triple Olympic winner was a member of Zawisza Bydgoszcz sports club and
trained on local tracks.

Soyez les bienvenus dans notre région, à lajoyeuse fête du sport – Championnats du Monde Juniors de l’IAAF Bydgoszcz 2008. La région polonaise
de Cujavie-Poméranie et Bydgoszcz en particulier ont une
riche tradition athlétique. C’est dans cette région que beaucoup de champions et de médaillés des Championnats du
Monde et des jeux olympiques se sont développés. Parmi
ces personnages une grande sprinteuse et coureuse haies
polonaise – Teresa Ciepły. Trois fois médaillée olympique,
elle était membre du club sportif Zawisza Bydgoszcz et
s’entraînait sur les pistes de Bydgoszcz. Durant les grands
événements sportifs d’athlétisme organisés chaque
année, la ville sur la Brda accueille les meilleurs coureurs,
marcheurs, sauteurs et lanceurs.

ydgoszcz usytuowana jest pomiędzy dwiema
rzekami – Brdą i Wisłą – oraz kanałem zbudowanym wiele lat temu. Obecnie Kanał Bydgoski
jest jedną z pereł światowej architektury technicznej. Poprzez wieki Bydgoszcz wzrastała jako ważny ośrodek handlowy, silnie związany z rzeką. Setki budowli z XIX i XX
wieku – kamienice czynszowe, obiekty publiczne, przemysłowei militarne reprezentują rozmaite style – klasycyzm, eklektyzm, secesję, modernizm. Dziś stanowią one
unikalne jednostki architektoniczne. Wewnątrz miejskich
granic splot dwóch rzek i kanału tworzy węzeł wodny,
zjawisko nieczęsto spotykane w europejskich miastach.
Bydgoszcz jest wyjątkowa również z powodu swych pięknych terenów zielonych – parków i promenad okalających
rzekę i kanał. Do terenów tych zalicza się także ogród botaniczny oraz Leśny Park Kultury i Wypoczynku, usytuowane na obrzeżach miasta. Z jednej strony Bydgoszcz otoczona jest Puszczą Bydgoską, natomiast od strony północnej
sąsiaduje z Parkiem Narodowym Borów Tucholskich.
Bydgoszcz jest miastem pełnym życia. Słynie ze swoich
corocznych festiwali teatralnych, muzycznych i operowych.
Jazz, jak i inne rodzaje muzyki rozbrzmiewają dookoła
z kawiarń i klubów.
Bydgoszcz jest miastem sportu. Lekkoatletyka, wyścigi żużlowe, kajakarstwo, żeglarstwo i inne dziedziny sportu uprawiane są w niemal 30 klubach sportowych. To tu, z myślą
o rozwoju sportu, zbudowano szereg obiektów, aby w ten
sposób stworzyć znakomite warunki do organizacji zawodów
o randze ogólnopolskiej i międzynarodowej.

ydgoszcz is situated between two rivers – Brda
and Vistula – and the rivers’ channel, built many
years ago. Nowadays Bydgoski Channel is a pearl
of technical architecture. Throughout the centuries Bydgoszcz has been growing as an important trade centre,
strongly connected with the river. Hundreds of buildings
from XIX and XX century – tenement houses, public, industry, military buildings represent various styles of architecture – classicism, eclecticism, secession, modernism. Today
they are unique urban architectural units. Within the city
borders, a connection of two rivers and the channel builds
the water node, very special to Bydgoszcz and unlikely to
be seen in any other European cities.
Bydgoszcz is also unique because of its beautiful green
areas – parks and promenades along the river and the
channel. This green area is enlarged by botanic gardens
and Forest, Parks and Recreation situated around the city
suburbs. On one side, can be found what is left of Bydgoszcz Wood, and on the other, north of the city, there
are the forests of Tuchola Woods National Park.
Bydgoszcz is a full of life city. It is famous for its annual
theatre, music and opera festivals. Jazz as well as other
types of music is played in the cafes and clubs.
Bydgoszcz is the city of sports. Athletics, canoeing, yachting and other sports are practiced in 30 sport clubs. It is
here where having in mind the sport’s development, many
venues have been built to create excellent conditions for
the organization of national and international events.

L a ville de Bydgoszcz est située entre deux rivières – la Brda et la Vistule – et son canal construit il y a bien des
années. Le Canal de Bydgoszcz est une perle d’architecture technique. Pendant des siècles Bydgoszcz s’est
développée en un centre de commerce important, fortement lié à la rivière. Des centaines d’édifices du XIXe et
XXe siècles – immeubles à usage locatif, bâtiments publics, industriels, militaires représentent les styles architecturaux
variés: classicisme, éclectisme, sécession, modernisme. Aujourd’hui ils constituent des unités architecturales uniques.
A l’intérieur de la ville, les deux rivières et le canal se rejoignent en un nœud aquatique, phénomène rarement présent
dans les villes d’Europe.
La ville de Bydgoszcz est exceptionnelle aussi grâce à ses espaces verts – les parcs et les promenades entourant la rivière
et le canal. On peut voir également le jardin botanique et le Parc Forestier de la Culture et de la Détente aux alentours
de la ville. La Forêt de Bydgoszcz borde un côté de la ville, et le Parc National de Bory Tucholskie est situé au nord.
Bydgoszcz est une ville pleine de vie, bien connue pour son théâtre et ses festivals de musique et d’opéra. Le jazz,
comme, bien d’autres genres de musique, résonne dans les nombreux clubs et cafés.
Bydgoszcz est aussi une ville du sport. L’athlétisme, le canoë-kayak, la voile et bon nombre d’autres sports sont pratiqués
dans plus de 30 clubs. C’est ici où, pour le développement du sport, une infrastructure sportive complète avait été
créée dans le but de développer des compétitions de rang national et international. En 2008, Bydgoszcz sera l’hôte des
12èmes Championnats du Monde Juniors de l’IAAF.
