Stewardship Note: “’Here I am!’ he answered.” It is easy
to say, “Here I am, Lord,” when we are kneeling in church.
Can we just as easily answer, “Here I am, Lord, “ when we go
home, when a neighbor needs our help, when a fellow parishioner asks us to join a committee, or when a letter asks for our
financial help? These are often exactly the places where Jesus
calls us to be.

LISTEN AND FOLLOW
“This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” And
listen they did. From that moment on, Peter,
James and John were ardent followers, forsaking
everything to follow in their Master’s footsteps.
Like the psalmist crying, “O Lord, I am your servant,” the three
disciples committed themselves to lives of incredible hardship
and indescribable joy. After that day on the mountain, they
never again wavered in their chosen vocation.
Though our tests may not be as severe as Abraham’s and our
peak experiences not as dramatic as the Transfiguration, we all
face the daily challenges of walking “before the Lord in the
land of the living.” As we follow our varied calls to love and
serve, let’s be comforted by Paul’s reminder to the Romans:
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
Today is the first Sunday of the month, therefore we will
pray the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy at 3:00pm combined with
singing of Gorzkie Zale.
We are in dire need of God’s goodness, love and mercy.
Please make every effort to set aside an hour of your time this
Sunday to join us in asking our Lord for his graces in our lives.

During this Lenten Season let us make an extra effort to participate in our weekly Novena and Devotion to our Patron. We
ask parishioners and friends who seek Divine assistance in their
personal and family life through the intercession of St. Joseph
to join us on Wednesday, March 4th at 7:00pm.
Our parish Lectors will take part in this Novena. Please note
your intentions to be read during devotions. Your offerings are
appreciated.

FIRST FRIDAY ADORATION
On Friday, March 6th, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
will begin after the 7:00am Mass and conclude at 3:00pm with
the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy followed by Benediction.
Adorers are asked to come at their scheduled time. Please note:
All members and parishioners are invited to join us at the
7:00am Mass which is designated for the deceased members of
the Sacred Heart Society. Mass in the Polish language will be
celebrated at 7:00pm.
WINTER WEATHER
During the last several weeks we experienced severe
weather conditions which was reflected in low attendance for
Divine Worship. I understand the situation, because God does
not mandate to endanger our lives.
The weather caused a daunting task of snow removal around
parish property for accessibility for those who chose to attend
Mass. Thank God that we were able to celebrate all Masses and
did not have to cancel any devotions. This was very costly, but
fortunately, we did not have to ask parishioners for a special
collection.
Understandably offerings were very low and we are about
$5,000 less than usual. Therefore, may I ask those who did not
return their envelopes on the given dates, would you kindly
place them in the collection basket at your earliest convenience
so we can meet our expenses.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY 2015
The Annual Partners in Charity Appeal in pew collection in
our parish will take place on March 7 & 8. This year’s theme is
“Faith in Action: United as the Family of God” .
We will have the opportunity to assist the charitable works,
education and ministerial mission of the Catholic Church
throughout the diocese by making a pledged gift during in-pew
solicitation. In doing so, we will join our diocesan family and
become partners in charity and partners with Christ. Our Basilica’s goal is $25,000, the same as last year.
LENTEN RETREATS
SAVE THE DATES: The English Lenten Retreat will commence on Sat., Mar., 7th at 4:00pm Mass and conclude on
Wed., Mar. 11th with the Novena and Devotion to our Patron.
The retreat master will be Rev. Jonathan Slavinskas, Associate
at St. Joseph Parish, Charlton .
The Polish Lenten Retreat beginning Sunday, Mar., 15th
through March 18th will be directed by Father Stanislaw
Dudek, a Franciscan Priest from New Britain, CT. Devotional
services will be held at 7:00pm on weekdays.
PIEROGI SALE– for your information we will again make
a limited amount pierogi (on site) to be ready for pick up on
Sat., Mar. 28th and Sun. Mar. 29th. See enclosed flyer for details.

THANK YOU
We are grateful for all parishioners and friends who joined us
for a scrumptious Roast Pork Dinner on Valentine’s Day. Despite the bad weather all diners were cheerful and upbeat and
feasted on a repast prepared by Clem Starosta, his grandsons,
Patrick and Adam with the assistance of our Basilica Parish
Council members, who sponsored this event. We appreciate the
dedication of these individuals who are always eager to assist in
promoting parish events. Special thanks to our parish bakers
who provided dessert for our pastry table.
Words of appreciation - we are beholden to our hard working parishioners John Hester and Dennis Wasielewski who have
spent many hours in refurbishing our After Care Room in our
schoolwith a fresh coat of paint, new flooring, coat hangers, an
activity case, etc. The students are delighted with the sparkling
appearance of the room with new furniture and new games.

POPE FRANCIS’ SECRET TO HAPPINESS
Develop healthy sense of leisure. We live in a secular
world that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many of us
deal with stressful job demands and other commitments.
Parents juggle work demands in addition to the busy schedules
of children involved in school, sports and other activities. Pope
Francis notes the real fear that the pleasures of art, literature,
playing with children and spending time with family members
are being lost in the business of daily life. Leisure activities
give our bodies and minds a chance to refresh and renew
themselves and give us a chance to reconnect with one another.
It is important to set aside time to turn off the television,
communicate with one another, read together, engage in playful
activities and eat dinner together as a family as well as explore
the arts, culture and nature.
FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO

Jeżeli Bóg z nami, któż przeciwko nam? (Rz 8, 31b)
Wiara jest drogą wewnętrznego przeobrażenia.
Abraham, decydując się na śmierć syna, mówi Bogu:
przekonałeś mnie do siebie podczas naszej wspólnej
wędrówki; ufam Ci, choć ogarnia mnie wielka ciemność
i nic nie rozumiem. Właśnie wiara zamienia mrok
w jasność. To doświadczenie wszystkich, którzy wędrowali po
pustyniach wiary: Abrahama, Mojżesza, Eliasza i całej rzeszy
świętych, znanych i nieznanych.
Druga kolekta dzisiejszej niedzieli jest przeznaczona
na Zobowiązania Diecezjalne.
Druga kolekta w przyszłą niedzielę będzie przeznaczona
na pokrycie wyższych kosztów utrzymania i energii.

KORONKA DO MIŁOSIERDZIA BOŻEGO
Dziś przypada pierwsza niedziela miesiąca marca. O godz. 15:00
zapraszamy na nabożeństwo Gorzkich Żali, które będzie odprawione
w połączeniu z Koronką do Miłosierdzia Bożego i błogosławieństwem
Najświętszym Sakramentem.
NABOŻEŃSTWA WIELKOPOSTNE
W wielkim poście naszą duchową łączność z Bogiem i pogłębienie
świadomości o Jego roli w naszym życiu możemy bardziej przeżyć w
czasie różnorodnych nabożeństw. W bazylice św. Józefa będą się one
odbywały według następującego planu:
Gorzkie Żale są odprawiane w każdą niedzielę po południu o 15:00.
Droga Krzyżowa jest odprawiana w każdy piątek. Po angielsku o
godz. 13:00 z uczniami naszej szkoły (parafianie i rodzice są mile
widziani), i o 19:00 w języku polskim.
Spowiedź – codziennie po Mszy św. o godz. 6:30, w każdy wtorek
do 19:00 do 20:00 oraz w soboty o 15:00.
Wielkopostna Msza dla dzieci. Msza św. o godz. 9:30 w każdą
niedzielę podczas Wielkiego Postu jest wyznaczony jako Msza rodzina
z udziałem dzieci. Wszystkie rodziny z dziećmi są zaproszone. Wielki
Post jest związany z osobistymi ofiarami i wyrzeczeniami,
wykonywaniem dobrych uczynków, podejmowaniem postanowień i
itp. Każde dziecko, które w ciągu tygodnia wykona dobry uczynek
może zapisać go na specjalnej karteczce i przynieść do kościoła, gdzie
zmieni je na kwiat, który później przyniesie w procesji z darami i
umieści u stóp krzyża, jako dar dla Jezusa.
NOWENNA DO ŚW. JÓZEFA
W czasie Wielkiego Postu postarajmy się włożyć dodatkowy
wysiłek, aby uczestniczyć w cotygodniowej Nowennie do św. Józefa.
Zapraszamy parafian i przyjaciół, którzy poszukują boskiej pomocy w
sprawach osobistych i rodzinnych za przyczyną naszego patrona.
W procesji z figurą św. Józefa będą szli Lektorzy. Zachęcamy do
przedstawiania Bogu swoich modlitewnych intencji i zapisywania ich
na specjalnych karteczkach znajdujących się w kaplicy Matki Bożej.
Bóg zapłać za składane przy tej okazji ofiary.
PIERWSZY PIĄTEK MIESIĄCA
W piątek, 6 marca, adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu rozpocznie
się po Mszy św. o godz. 7:00. O godz. 15:00 zapraszamy na Koronkę
do Miłosierdzia Bożego. Członkowie organizacji parafialnych są
proszeni o uczestnictwo w indywidualnych adoracjach o
zaplanowanym wcześniej czasie.
Msza św. w po polsku o godz. 19:00. Pól godziny przed Mszą
możliwość spowiedzi. Po Mszy św. zostanie odprawiona Droga
Krzyżowa.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Jak co roku, zapraszamy do włączenia się w diecezjalna akcję
charytatywna Partners in Charity. Zebrane środki zostaną
wykorzystywane w dziełach charytatywnych, edukacyjnych i
formacyjnych. Wspólnie możemy dokonać wielkich dzieł i wspomóc
tych, którzy znajdują się w potrzebie.
W tym roku zostaliśmy poproszeni o zebranie kwoty $25000. Bóg
zapłać za składane ofiary.
SEKRET SZCZĘŚCIA PAPIEŻA FRANCISZKA
Wypracować zdrowe poczucie przyjemności. Żyjemy w świeckim
świecie, który funkcjonuje 24 godziny na dobę, 7 dni w tygodniu.
Wielu z nas zmaga się ze stresem związanym z wymaganiami w pracy
i innymi zobowiązaniami. Rodzice muszą pogodzić pracę z napiętym
harmonogramem zajęć dzieci zaangażowanych w szkole, w drużyny
sportowe i wiele innych aktywności. Papież Franciszek zwraca uwagę
no to, że prawdziwe przyjemności życia płynące ze sztuki, literatury,
zabawy z dziećmi i spędzanie czas z członkami rodziny zostały

spędzanie czasu dają naszemu ciału i umysłowi okazję do odświeżenia
i odnowy, a także stwarza szansę na umacnianie wzajemnych więzi.
PODZIĘKOWANIA
Pragniemy serdecznie podziękować wszystkim, którzy włączyli się
w zorganizowanie kolacji z okazji Walentynek. Szczególne
podziękowanie kierujemy do pana Clem’a Starosa, oraz jego
wnuczków Patryka i Adama.
Dziękujemy panom Denis’owi Wasilewskiemu i John’owi Hester za
pracę przy odnowieniu pokoju, w którym dzieci z naszej szkoły
spędzają czas po zakończeniu zajęć lekcyjnych w oczekiwaniu na
rodziców. Oprócz wielu pomniejszych prac pokój został pomalowany,
odnowiona została podłoga i zamocowane dodatkowe wieszak na
kurtki.
Po raz kolejny kierujemy podziękowanie za pomoc w odśnieżaniu.
W ubiegła niedzielę swoją pomocną dłoń wyciągnął pan Wiesław
Denert, który wraz z panem Eugeniuszem Rudnickim, przez wiele
godzin odrzucali śnieg ze schodów i chodników wokół kościoła
i szkoły. Bóg zapłać Wam wszystkim!
BINGO
Zapraszamy parafian i przyjaciół do kafeterii Szkoły Świętego
Józefa, aby dołączyli do nas na BINGO w każdy piątkowy wieczór.
Gości przyjmujemy już od 17:00, gra rozpoczyna się o 18:45. W
piątek, 6 marca prosimy członków Rady Parafialnej do pomocy w

WIELKOPOSTNE OBIADY
W parafii św. Andrzeja Boboli w każdy piątek podczas Wielkiego
Postu dostępne będą w sali pod kościołem obiady do zjedzenia na
miejscu lub na wynos. Sala będzie otwarta w godz.: 11:30, 14:00
i 16:00-18:00. Obiady z pieczonej ryby, z pieczonym ziemniakiem,
surówką lub warzywami do tego dodatkowo kawy, herbaty lub napój

PIELGRZYMKA DO WŁOCH
Parafia św. Andrzeja Boboli organizuje dwunastodniową
pielgrzymkę do Włoch w dniach 20 września – 1 października 2015.
W planie zwiedzanie Rzymu, Asyżu, Florencji i siedmiu innych

RELIGIA
Katecheza – Zajęcia katechetyczne odbędą się w poniedziałek
2 marca o godz. 17:30. UWAGA! Każde dziecko, które w ciągu
tygodnia wykona dobry uczynek może zapisać go na specjalnej
karteczce i przynieść do kościoła, gdzie zmieni je na kwiat, który
później przyniesie w procesji z darami i umieści u stóp krzyża, jako
dar dla Jezusa.
Bierzmowanie – Najbliższe potkanie odbędzie się w niedzielę,
8 marca o godz. 8:15 na plebanii. Jest to spotkanie dodatkowe w
zamian za to, które nie odbyło się 22 lutego z powodu opadów śniegu.
R.C.I.A. - program dla tych, którzy chcą być ochrzczeni lub
powrócić do wspólnoty Kościoła Katolickiego będzie odbywać się w
