OUR PRAYER FOR UNITY
Last Sunday, we heard the final words Jesus
spoke before his ascension into heaven, words
recorded by Saint Mark. Today we listen to a
portion of what has become known as Jesus’
“final discourse” from John’s Gospel. Once
again, the Lord’s words contain a commissioning
of his disciples for ministry to the world. One important part of
this discourse is Jesus’ prayer for unity: “Keep them in your
name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as
we are one.” As the Easter season comes to an end, a season
that has seen us deepening our awareness of the Paschal Mystery, it is fitting that today we hear this prayer for unity among
the Lord’s followers. Let us celebrate the unity we have with
other Christians and work together to heed the Lord’s great
commission to bring the Good News to our weary world.
The flowers in front of the Blessed Mother Altar for Our
Lady of Fatima were given in memory of Lucy A. Malboeuf
by her son Roland.
Second collection this week is for the financial assistance
to the people of Nepal who were affected by
another earthquake this past week.
Therefore, the need is urgent for necessities of life.
HOLY ROSARY SODALITY
On Sunday, May 17th we welcome all the members of the
Holy Rosary Sodality to their Annual Communion Mass at
8:15am Liturgy. This Sodality has been in existence for over
125 years and promotes devotion to Blessed Mother by praying
the rosary and provides support to the Church.
SATURDAY POLISH SCHOOL GRADUATION
We will celebrate the graduation of the Saturday Polish
School Class on Sunday, May 17th at the 11:00am Liturgy.
Students have been attending the Saturday School for about
nine years and learned language, culture, meaning of traditions,
history and religion. The administration of the school is comprised mainly of students’ parents and are grateful for the donations received so that the students could attend the Saturday
School. Congratulations to all the graduates:

FORTY HOURS DEVOTION/MAY 17 - 18 - 19
The traditional Forty Hours Devotion will be celebrated at
our Basilica on Sunday, May 17th will begin at 11:00am Mass
after the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. These Liturgical
days coincide with the Peregranatio of the Triptych of ST.John
Paul II which will be introduced into our Basilica by the
Knights of Columbus at 9:30am Mass.
Sun., May 17 at 4:00pm Stearns’ Vespers and Homily.
Mon., May 18 after 6:30am Mass, Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament and adoration all day until devotions at 7:00pm for
which we invite young people and adults of our parish.
Tues., May 19 after 7:00am Mass, Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament and adoration all day until conclusion of Forty
Hours with Litany to All Saints and Eucharistic Procession.
We invite the First Communion Class to take part dressed in
their formal attire, the Children of Mary, Altar Servers, parish
organizations with their identifying medals and banners, all
parish ministries, Knights of Columbus and our school children
in their “Sunday Best” to gather with visiting clergy.
As disciples of Jesus Christ it is our serious obligation to
bring others to Christ. Eucharistic Devotions during Forty
Hours offers us the opportunity to bring to the Church those
who need so much and have so little. We ask that all parishioners join us.
MEETINGS
Pa/rish Council - will meet in the school on Monday, May 18
at 6:00pm. We ask all members to be present as many issues
are on the table for discussion.
ST. JOHN PAUL II BIRTHDAY
May 18th is the birthday of our late Holy Father, St. John
Paul II. We use this occasion to pray to God for needed graces
through his intercession. On Sunday, after 9:30am Mass we
have the privilege to venerate the Relic of Pope John Paul II.
The Triptych of John Paul II flanked by Our Lady of Czestochowa and the Divine Mercy reflects his spirituality and total
trust in the Divine Mercy and Our Blessed Mother.
The Triptych will be displayed in the Sanctuary until May
22nd to provide the opportunity of our faithful to deepen their
spiritual life.
A cast of students from grades 5-8 from St. Joseph Schoolunder the directorship of Mr. Sylvester will perform “Godspell
Jr.” at the Town Hall on June 11 & 12th from 7:30—9:00pm.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students (K thru 14) and Sr.
citizens; children under 4 - free of charge.
DEVOTION AND NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH
On Wednesday, May 20th we invite parishioners and friends
to join us for our weekly Devotion to our Patron at 7:00pm.
We should promise to honor him every day by some special
act of devotion and place ourselves under his daily protection.
The Knights of Columbus will carry our Patron’s statue into the
Sanctuary.
Please fill out the intention cards placed in the Chapel with
your needs and expectations to be read during the Novena.

PARTNERS IN CHARITY
We are grateful to all parishioners who have responded to
our Annual Partners in Charity Appeal. We have reached 87%
of our goal through your generosity.
People of Central Massachusetts turn to us as the family of
God in so many ways for healing, teaching and feeding. This

POPE FRANCIS’ SECRET TO HAPPINESS
Work for Peace - We are called to stand up for peace: “The
call for peace must be shouted. Peace sometimes gives the
impression of being quiet, but it is never quiet; peace is always
proactive.” Pope Francis says. We may not be able to bring
about peace on a global scale, but we can pray for world peace.
We can also work for peace in our homes, neighborhoods,
schools and places of employment. When we take a stand
against violence in any form, we become peacemakers. Jesus
calls peacemakers “blessed” and gives them the distinction of
being “children of God”.

„Umiłowani, jeśli Bóg tak nas umiłował, to i my winniśmy się wzajemnie miłować.” (1J 4, 11)
Uwierzyć Jezusowi znaczy przyznać pierwszeństwo Bogu, dojść do jednomyślności i liczyć na Niego we
wszystkim. Bezinteresowność i hojność w czynieniu miłosierdzia modlitwą i czynem, czyli znaki żywej wiary,
budują niebo na ziemi. W wypełnianiu tej podstawowej misji Kościoła służą pomocą dary i charyzmaty Ducha
Świętego. Posługa modlitwy o uzdrowienie i uwolnienie, której towarzyszą znaki, jest dowodem na to, że tu i teraz
jest obecny Zmartwychwstały. Czy otwieram się na dary i charyzmaty Ducha? W jaki sposób służę charyzmatami?
Dzisiejsza druga kolekta jest przeznaczona na pomoc ofiarom trzęsienia ziemi w Nepalu.

URODZINY ŚW. JANA PAWŁA II
Jutro, 18 maja przypadają urodziny św. Jana Pawła II.
Korzystając z tej okazji już dziś będziemy prosić Boga
o potrzebne nam łaski za przyczyną naszego wielkiego
świętego. Na Mszy św. o godz. 9:30 przywitamy Tryptyk
z wizerunkiem św. Jana Pawła II w otoczeniu obrazu
Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej z jednej strony i św. Siostry
Faustyny Kowalskiej z drugiej. Obrazy te podkreślają
duchową drogę Papieża, który był całkowicie oddany
Maryi i poświęcony krzewieniu tajemnicy Bożego
Miłosierdzia. Będziemy mieli również możliwość
adoracji relikwii znajdujących się w naszej świątyni.
Tryptyk będzie znajdował się w Bazylice do 22 Maja
tak by szczególna obecność Jana Pawła II w jego relikwii
i wizerunku zachęcała nas do pogłębiania naszego życia
duchowego, tak jak On to robił w czasie swojego
pontyfikatu.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Serdecznie dziękujemy wszystkim parafianom, którzy
swoimi ofiarami wsparli tegoroczna zbiórkę charytatywną
Partners in Charity. Do tej pory zebraliśmy około 87%
sumy o jaką zostaliśmy poproszeni. Zbiórka cały czas jest
w toku i każdy, kto chce się dołączyć może tego dokonać
za pomocą kopert znajdujących się w ławkach.
Pamiętajmy, ze dzięki naszym ofiarom, choćby
najmniejszym, pomagamy potrzebującym rodzinom w
naszej diecezji.
NABOŻEŃSTWO CZTERDZIESTOGODZINNE
Tradycyjne Nabożeństwo Czterdziestogodzinne ku czci
Najświętszego Sakramentu rozpoczniemy w tym roku
od przyjęcia Tryptyku Jana Pawła II na Mszy św. o godz. 9:30,
który zostanie wprowadzony do Bazyliki w uroczystej procesji
prowadzonej przez Rycerzy Kolumba z naszej parafii.
Wszystkich parafian zapraszamy do wykorzystania tej
niesamowitej okazji, aby zbliżyć się do Boga i oddać mu cześć
w Najświętszym Sakramencie, jak również odnowić
i wzmocnić swoją osobista relację z Bogiem poprzez czas
spędzony na osobistej modlitwie i wspólnotowych
nabożeństwach.

FESTIWAL
Spotkanie odpowiedzialnych za organizowanie festiwalu
odbędzie się w środę, 20 maja o godz. 18:30. Wszystkich
zainteresowanych serdecznie zapraszamy i prosimy o obecność.
POLSKA SZKOŁA SOBOTNIA.
Wczoraj podczas uroczystej akademii, dziewięciu uczniów kl. VIII zakończyło swoją edukację w naszej sobotniej szkole. Koledzy
i koleżanki z młodszych klas serdecznie ich pożegnali krótkim programem artystycznym. Absolwenci otrzymali świadectwa
ukończenia szkoły oraz drobne upominki. Po południu odbyło się dla nich specjalne przyjęcie w PAV przy Ray St., na które
zaproszeni byli nasi księża, wszyscy nauczyciele oraz rodzice i rodzeństwa absolwentów. Kolacja została przygotowana przez
rodziców. Część nieoficjalną uczniowie otworzyli pięknie tańcząc tradycyjnego polskiego Poloneza.
Na dzisiejszej Eucharystii mamy zaszczyt gościć tych nowo upieczonych absolwentów, w których intencji drugi kapłan
koncelebruje Mszę św. Są to: Zuzanna Basta, Patrik Denert, Bartosz Mamro, Monika Mosio, Patryk Piwowarczyk, Jakub
Podskarbi, Maciej Racki, Alicja Stachowicz i Justyn Sudyka. Większość z nich uczęszczała do naszej szkoły od przedszkola, czyli
przez 10 lat! Serdecznie im gratulujemy wytrwałości, chęci do nauki, wysokich stopni oraz sukcesów na konkursach. Gratulujemy
również ich rodzicom dalekowzroczności i wizji na to, aby podtrzymywać i umacniać polskość na obczyźnie. Życzymy im, aby Pan
Bóg błogosławił im we wszystkich przedsięwzięciach, a szczególnie obdarzył darem miłości do kraju przodków, aby sami kiedyś
umieli tę miłość przekazać z kolei swoim dzieciom i wnukom.
Wszystkim parafianom i przyjaciołom, którzy sumiennie wspierali i wspierają naszą sobotnią szkołę składam serdeczne Bóg
zapłać za dobroć serc oraz pomoc finansową, bez której nie moglibyśmy prowadzić naszej szkoły, a tym samym nie
przeżywalibyśmy dzisiaj tego radosnego wydarzenia, które jest wynikiem naszej wspólnej troski i pracy. Jakże piękny jest to dar dla
Ojca św. Jana Pawła II, którego urodziny dzisiaj wspominamy, a który prosił emigrantów „aby pielęgnowali polskie dziedzictwo i
nie wyrywali korzeni, z których wyrośli”. Ofiarujemy Jego opiece tych dziewięciu młodych ludzi, którzy wspierani zachętami
swoich rodziców, w każdą sobotę, zamiast spędzać czas na swawolach, sumiennie przychodzili do szkoły uczyć się języka, kultury,
tradycji oraz historii i geografii Polski. Pierwsi polscy emigranci odpowiadając na potrzebę serca zbudowali ten nasz polski kościół,

wykształciła już w sumie dwudziestu pięciu absolwentów.
Jeszcze raz serdecznie wszystkim dziekujemy za wsparcie, a Absolwentom życzymy, aby bez względu na to, gdzie ich kiedyś los
