EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION
OF THE LORD
SEEKING
On Easter Sunday, early in the morning we were
accustomed to hear the bells. People everywhere
were rushing to Church for the Resurrection Mass. The joyful
peal of the Easter bells inspired reflection.
Contemporary man does not care much for processions and
celebrations and yet as every person, regardless of time and
age, is yearning for joy, happiness and eternal salvation. On
Easter Sunday we celebrate the historical fact of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This reality despite our shortcomings,
unworthiness and sins provides us new hope and meaning of
our life. We participate in Easter Sunday Mass with renewed
faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and a new vision of our
own eternal destiny. Yet many people of the 21st century put
their trust into trivial frivolous ideas which in the end leads to
nowhere
Whatever it is that we seek, let us be inspired by the disciple
whom Jesus loved who, when he saw the wrappings of cloth
inside the empty tomb, “saw and believed.”
You may drop your parish obligation to the Diocese envelope
in the collection with your weekly envelope..

EASTER GREETINGS
Easter Sunday is a day of faith, joy and rejoicing. The Resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of our faith and the most
extra-ordinary happening in human history. There is no other
day that compares with Easter Sunday. It is indeed the Day of
the Lord. All our hopes happiness emanates from what happened on the first Easter morning. Every Sunday of the year
we gather together for Divine Worship and recall Easter Sunday. On this unprecedented day we wish to all our parishioners
a joyful, peaceful and happy Easter Sunday.

EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE COLLECTION
The second collection this weekend is for Educational Excellence at St. Joseph School. Most of our parishioners were educated and formed their character at our school. Needless to say,
they carry many fond memories of this educational institution
which made such an impact on their entire life. During the
Easter season there are many alumni who come home from
various states to celebrate with their families. Whether you are
a graduate of St. Joseph School, a visitor or a parishioner we
trust that the quality of education of children is the highest priority in your charitable giving. The students of our school depend on your assistance, need your support and count on your
commitment and generosity. The second collection will be
taken by the students of St. Joseph School.
NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
We ask parishioners and friends to join us on April 8th at
7:00pm for the Novena and Devotion to our Patron. At this
joyous time of the year we may thank St. Joseph for all favors
received and at the same time ask him for special needed
graces. You may jot down your intentions on the paper provided to be read during the devotion.
Members of The Knights of Columbus are asked to assist in
bringing the statue of St. Joseph into the sanctuary.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
A nine-day Novena to the Divine Mercy began on Good Friday at 6:30pm services and prayed each morning thereafter at
the 6:30am Mass. It will conclude with services on April 12th
at 3:00pm with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, singing of
the Chaplet and Benediction.
ANOINTING SERVICE
The sacrament of the sick will be administered in our Basilica
next Sunday, April 12th at 2:30pm The Sacred Heart Society
members will be on hand to assist with the elderly and disabled.
We encourage parishioners to bring their loved ones for this
special sacramental opportunity

I am grateful for all of our industrious and dedicated volunteers who because of their tremendous energy last Wednesday
and Thursday we were able to hold another successful pierogi
sale. We had experienced “pinchers’ who together with many
new faces worked together for the good of our parish. God

CEMETERY UPDATE
As we slowly recover from our extra-ordinary ferocious winter, I would like to thank you for your patience as we try to recoup our St. Joseph Garden of Peace to its usual Spring environment. There is damage in several places done by service
vehicles or other means. As conditions improve we will restore
the lawn damaged areas with loam. In the next few weeks as
temperatures rise we will continue to “spruce up” these holy
grounds.
SCHOOL NEWS
Massachusetts State Geography Bee Finals - Our 8th grade
student, Bartosz Mamro participated in the finals of our annual
state geography bee. Bartosz won the SJS geography bee the
past three years. This year’s win made him eligible to continue
to compete by taking a written geography test scored by the
National Geographic Bee Committee. The 100 highest scoring
students then go on to the preliminary rounds of the State Competition which includes eight rounds of questions. Ten of the
best scorers go on to the Final round. Bartosz was one of 19
students with a perfect score and qualified for the top ten finalists and completed four more rounds. He was one of only two
students from Worcester County private and public school who
qualified for the finals. Congratulations to Bartosz for representing our school and bringing us such a distinguished
honor!
Alex Gardner - was inducted into the Worcester State University Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma. This is the College Freshman
National Honor Society, which recognizes College Freshman
with a GPA of 3.5-4.0 during their first semester in college.
Alex earned a GPA of 3.87. He is a graduate of St. Joseph
School, class of 2010 and is pursuing a degree in Visual & Performing Arts with a concentration in Theater and Music, focusing on vocal performance.
Alex is the son of Cindi Gardner also an aluma of SJS.
Congratulations to Alex for a job well done and good luck in
his future endeavors.
Mark your calendar-The Annual St. Joseph School Auction will
be held on Sat., Apr. 11th at the 200 Sportsman’s Club. Donations of
items for the Theme Baskets, services or monetary gifts are accepted at
the school office.
This year’s theme is your, Favorite Sport’s Team. We invite you to
join us dressed in your team’s logo t-shirt. Tickets are $20pp for roast
beef and stuffed chicken breast dinner with veggies, cheese and
cabbage pierogi and dessert. Doors open at 5:00pm and dinner will be
served at 6:00pm. By supporting St. Joseph School you make a
difference in the life of a child who can grow educationally and
spiritually in values and closeness to God. We thank you for your

NIEDZIELA WIELKANOCNA

„Nie umrę, lecz będę żył, i głosił dzieła Pańskie.” (Ps 117, 17)
Niedziela Wielkanocna to przede wszystkim dzień
poszukiwań. Pierwotna wspólnota chrześcijańska
zgromadzona wokół Apostołów poszukuje znaczenia i
misji Chrystusa. Św. Paweł do ochrzczonych Kolosan
mówi, aby poszukiwali czego co w górze. Maria
Magdalena idzie do grobu, aby tam odnaleźć ciało
Pana i namaścić je. My tez przychodzimy w Niedzielę
Wielkanocna do kościoła w poszukiwaniu wielu rzeczy. Dla
niektórych jest to wyprawa dokonywana raz do roku w
poszukiwaniu łączności z fundamentami wiary chrześcijańskiej.
Dla innych jest to kulminacyjny dzień wielkopostnych zmagań i
poświęceń czy pokuty. Dal nowo ochrzczonych jest to pierwszy
dzień nowego życia wypełnionego nadzieją. Czegokolwiek
poszukujemy, inspirujmy się postawą ucznia, który zobaczywszy
pusty grób i materiał, w który było zawinięte ciało Jezusa
„zobaczył i uwierzył”.
ŻYCZENIA
Wielkanoc to czas wiary i radości. Zmartwychwstanie
Jezusa jest filarem naszej wiary i najbardziej wyjątkowym
wydarzeniem w historii ludzkości. Żaden inny dzień w roku
nie może porównać się z Niedzielą Wielkanocną. Jest to w
istocie Dzień Pański. Na tym, co wydarzyło się w
Wielkanocny poranek opierają się nasze wszystkie nadzieje.
Kiedy zbieramy się w ciągu roku na niedzielnej Eucharystii,
przywołujemy na pamięć wydarzenia właśnie tego poranka.
W tym, jakże wyjątkowym dniu życzymy wszystkim
parafianom radosnych i przepełnionych pokojem Świąt
Wielkiej Nocy.

ZBIÓRKA NA SZKOLĘ
Dzisiejsza druga zbiórka jest przeznaczona na wsparcie
procesu edukacyjnego w naszej szkole. Wielu z naszych
parafian, to byli uczniowie szkoły św. Józefa. Lata spędzone w
jej murach z pewnością wycisnęły niezatarte znamię na
kształcie ich życia i pozostawiły wiele wspaniałych
wspomnień, do których chętnie się po latach powraca. W czasie
Świąt do naszej parafii przybywa wielu absolwentów z różnych
zakątków kraju, aby świętować razem z bliskimi. Zawracamy
się w tym uroczysty czasie do absolwentów, ale również i do
gości, o wsparcie dla tych, którzy obecnie korzystają z
dobrodziejstw naszej szkoły. Zwracamy się do wszystkich, dla
których edukacja religijna młodych pokoleń ma ogromna wagę.
Prosimy o pomoc w zapewnieniu naszym uczniom jak
najlepszego poziomu wykształcenia opartego na wartościach
chrześcijańskich. Za wszystkie ofiary złożone na rzecz naszej
szkoły podczas drugiej kolekty w Dzień Wielkanocny,
składamy w imieniu uczniów i Szkoły św. Józefa Serdeczne
Bóg Zapłać.
NIEDZIELA BOŻEGO MIŁOSIERDZIA
Nowenna do Miłosierdzia Bożego rozpocznę się w Wielki
Piątek, dziewięć dni przed Niedzielą Miłosierdzia, która jest
obchodzona zawsze tydzień po Wielkanocy. Nowennę
będziemy odmawiali codziennie do niedzieli 12 kwietnia. W
Niedzielę Miłosierdzia zgromadzimy się na godzinę 14:30 na
nabożeństwie Namaszczenia Chorych. A następnie przed
Najświętszym Sakramentem odmówimy Koronkę do
Miłosierdzia Bożego.
NAMASZCZENIE CHORYCH
Sakrament Namaszczenia Chorych jest przeznaczony dla
tych, którzy zmagają się z dolegliwościami duszy i ciała. Nie
jest on przeznaczony jedynie dla tych, którzy zbliżają się do
końca swojego ziemskiego życia. Można go przyjmować
wielokrotnie. W najbliższą niedzielę zapraszamy wszystkich,
którzy pragną prosić Boga o wsparcie w swoich słabościach.
Nabożeństwo Namaszczenia Chorych odbędzie się o godz.
14:30. Bardzo prosimy o pomoc w dotarciu do kościoła
osobom, które mają problem w poruszaniu się. Na miejscu
wsparciem i pomocą będą służyli członkowie Sacred Heart
Society.

WIADOMOŚCI SZKOLNE
Stanowy Finał Olimpiady Geogrephy Bee. Uczeń naszej
szkoły, Bartosz Mamro, trzykrotny zwycięzca Geography Bee
na poziomie szkolnym, zajął szóste miejsce w etapie stanowym
i był w gronie zwycięzców jednym z dwóch uczniów ze szkół
Worcester County. Gratulujemy!
Innym uczniem, godnym pochwały, jest Alex Grdner,
absolwent naszej szkoły, który za osiągniecia w nauce został
uhonorowany przez Worcester State University Chapter of Phi
Eta Sigma. Alex ukończył nasza szkołę w 2010 i kontynuuje
studia na kierunku artystycznym. Gratulujemy wyróżnienia!
FESTIWAL
Special Gifts Booth już teraz przyjmuje ofiary i prezenty
na najbliższy festiwal, który odbędzie się w dniach 19 -21
czerwca. Przedmioty można przynosić na plebanię, a datki
pieniężne można przynosić zarówno na plebanię jak też składać
do koszyka z kolektą. Prosimy o podawanie swoich danych
kontaktowych na kopertach i podpisywanie kopert „Special
Gifts Booth Donation”. Datki będą przyjmowane do 13
kwietnia.
AUKCJA
Coroczna aukcja na rzecz szkoły odbędzie się w sobotę, 11
kwietnia w 200 Sportsmen Club. Aktualnie zbieramy
przedmioty, które będzie można licytować na aukcji. Jeśli
znacie osobę lub firmę, która mogłaby ofiarować duży fant typu
telewizor lub grill lub też weekendowy pobyt w jakimś miejscu
bardzo prosimy o kontakt. Wspierając naszą szkołę stwarzacie
dla dzieci możliwość wzrastania intelektualnego i duchowego
w atmosferze wartości bliskich Bogu. Datki pieniężne i fanty
można przynosić lub przesyłać do szkoły z dopiskiem
„Aukcja”.
CMENTARZ
Zima powoli ustępuje miejsca upragnionej wiośnie. Na
naszym cmentarzu również pomału powraca normalny
porządek. Bardzo dziękujemy wszystkim parafianom za
cierpliwość w znoszeniu kaprysów uciążliwej zimy, która
również dotkliwie utrudniała funkcjonowanie naszego
cmentarza. Wraz z ustępowaniem śniegu i rozmarzaniem ziemi
będziemy starali się na bieżąco usuwać skutki zimowych
zniszczeń. Miejmy nadzieję, że już niebawem nasz cmentarz
będzie wyglądał jak prawdziwy „Ogród Pokoju”.
