MARIA CZECHOWSKA-KRÓLICKA, Music University Prof. Prof. BARBARA EWA WERNER Prof. EUGENIUSZ SĄSIADEK Dr OLGA KSENICZ Mgr ANNA BERNACKA _____________________________________________________________ REGULATIONS OF THE 6TH HALINA HALSKA-FIJAŁKOWSKA INTERNATIONAL VOCAL COMPETITION IN WROCŁAW Wrocław, 9-12 March 2013 1. The Competition organizers wish to honour eminent Artist HALINA HALSKA-FIJAŁKOWSKA (1919-1966). The Competition is also aimed at: promoting and cultivating the image of eminent Polish singer Halina Halska-Fijałkowska, promoting young talented artist singers, practically preparing young singers for international careers, popularising Polish culture around the world, promoting the Region and Province of Lower Silesia, exchanging experience on the international scale. 2. The Competition will be held in Wrocław, Poland, from 9 to 12 March 2013. Stage I and stage II auditions will be held at the Theatre Hall (Sala Teatralna) of the Academy of Music in Wrocław. The Prizewinners’ Concert, with the accompaniment of an orchestra, will take place on 12 March 2013 at 7.00 pm at the Wrocław Opera House. 3. The Competition may be entered by Polish singers, students and graduates of academies of music, persons privately learning to sing as well as students of foreign higher education institutions, subject to the following age restrictions: a) women born after 9 March 1982, b) men born after 9 March 1979. 4. The closing date for submitting entries – exclusively on forms printed out on a computer printer, accompanied by a proof of payment and a photo (preferably black-and-white and in the ID card format) – 20 February 2013. Entries should be sent to the address of the Academy of Music in Wrocław, with the comment: “Prof. E. Czermak – H. Halska Vocal Competition” (Akademia Muzyczna im. K. Lipińskiego, Pl. The entry fee to be paid by Competition entrants: PLN 250 ( 65 € ) The entry will not be refunded should the entrant decide not to participate in the Competition. The fee should be paid by transfer into the following bank account: Towarzystwo Miłośników Muzyki Wokalnej im. H. The order in which the entrants will perform during stage I of the Competition will be determined by a draw during the Inaugural Concert on the first day of the Competition, i.e. on 9 March 2013 at 6.00 pm. The order established for stage I will also apply to stage II. 7. The participants’ competition performances will be evaluated by the JURY appointed by the main Competition organizer. 8. Three prizes and one distinction are planned to be granted. The prize amounts will be announced after the list of entrants has been compiled. The best soprano voice may be awarded a Grand Prix. The Jury reserves the right to distribute the prizes differently. 9. Out-of-town entrants will participate in the Competition at their own cost or at the cost to the school which sends them. All travelling costs are to be paid by entrants themselves. 10. Entrants desiring to perform with their own pianist are expected to cover the costs of their travel and accommodation. The organizers will arrange a Competition accompanist for each entrant. 11. Operatic arias must be performed in the original language and key. 12. Any changes to the Competition programme must be reported by 1 March 2013. 13. Competition participants and accompanists may not raise any fee-related claims in respect of their performances during the Prizewinners’ Concert or any radio or TV recordings made at any time during the Competition. 14. The established duration of Competition performances may not be exceeded. The Jury may interrupt a performance if the participant has used up his or her time limit. 15. 15 participants with the highest score obtained in stage I of the Competition will be admitted to stage II. 16. Competition PROGRAMME: Stage I a) Any operatic aria (for a soprano voice an aria from the repertoire of H. Halska-Fijałkowska may be selected) b) A Polish song Maximum duration: 8 minutes Stage II a) Two operatic arias of different composers from the operas listed below b) Any song Maximum duration: 15 minutes 17. The Prizewinners’ Concert will be performed with the participation of the Lower Silesian Opera orchestra. Therefore, here is the list of the preferred operas (stage II): G. Bizet Carmen G.
