Poland is a country that has many faces, where tradition joins modernity in harmonious and inspiring integrity. Among all remains from Polish
history we can find wonderful medieval castles and monasteries, lovely old-town tenement houses, picturesque huts kept in heritage parks, as
well as nature treasures such as aged oaks in primeval backwoods of Białowieża Primeval Forest. Polish countryside delights with its beauty
wayside shrines and wooden churches, as well as storks’ nest that can be visible very often close to houses. However, Poland is also a country of
internet, mobile phone nets and fast cars. Polish present times and its future mean modern offices, hotels, shopping malls, restaurants, theater
and concert halls and nigh life thriving in pubs and clubs that appear on and on.
In the vicinity of cosmopolitan culture and amusement centers such as Warsaw, Krakow, Wrocław or Gdańsk there are areas having unique
natural features, where you can escape from urban tumult. Mazury forests and lakes, mountain ranges of Karpaty, seaside dunes at Bałtyk create
picturesque mosaic of Polish landscapes. Those are reasons why Poland attracts so many foreign tourists.
Poland can astonish you… and it is worth to experience it.

A few scenes from Malopolska
Mountain landscapes
Kraków – Wieliczka – Krynica – Zakopane – Kraków
Within the range of 150 km from Krakow the landscape changes beyond recognition. During a few days it is possible to see calcareous
ridges of the Pieniny Mountains, have an adventure by sailing a raft through Dunajec gorge, look at the Tatra Mountains from the Jaworzyna top
in Krynica, and be delighted by Giewont, the best known top of the Tatra, towering over Zakopane.
Nature, tastes, folklore
Zakopane, Krynica, Szczawnica
The most precious feature of Małopolska folklore is the fact that it is so genuine. Traditions being fostered for ages are still alive here.
The original dress, language, architecture, cuisine help to see, among mountain landscapes, the individuality and beauty of Podhale, Spisz and
Orawa. Regional goods and dishes are pride of the local cuisine which takes its ingredients from flawless nature. The crown of each trip into
those picturesque regions should be a dinner in a regional inn, where the hospitable highlander ladies invite to famous oscypek, Polish cheese
specialty.
The Great Poles – John Paul II
Kraków – Wadowice – Kalwaria Zebrzydowska –Zakopane – Częstochowa
“…The Homeland is our earthly mother. Poland is our special mother…”
Those words said by John Paul II help to understand his love to places where he spent his childhood, where his youth views were shaping
and the outstanding personality was maturing. Trying to curry the burden of problems of the whole world he came back in his pilgrimages to his
beloved nooks, recalling cream cakes in his family Wadowice, the first rehearsals and his priest work with youths in Krakow, or walks by Tatra
paths. Those were sources where he took his power from.
Judaica
Kraków – Oświęcim: Auschwitz – Birkenau – Kraków
Krakow and its district – Kazimierz is a historic place of harmonious co-existence of two nations: Poles and Jews. During ages the specific
atmosphere has been borne here, the atmosphere of infiltrating two cultures. Here are still the monuments of architecture and other precious
monuments of Jewish religion. Therefore Kazimierz is still alive and is visited every year by tourists from all over the world who sing together
“Shalom” at the Jewish Culture Festival. In the face of tragic history of the nation, whose story is full of tribulations from the 2nd World War in
Auschwitz, in Płaszów behind ghetto walls and in other places of tortures, that word gains its specific meaning.
