any transition it can appear daunting to them as the exam gets closer. We need to provide them with the right set of skills to
tackle the specific tasks that they are going to face. Sometimes just knowing what is tested and focusing on the weaker areas
like Reading and Stosowanie Środków Językowych, in a fun and exciting way, can make all the difference.
Using Next Move, a course from Pearson, this session will aim to give teachers all the necessary tools to ensure that this
transition goes as smoothly as possible. Harnessing those traditional activities that we all know work in the classroom with a
fresh approach to tackling the skills that students struggle with, or just find boring – like the translation & transformation
task types, we’ll look at some exam strategies that can help move your students on to success. It is guaranteed you will
leave this session with highly usable set of practical activities that will enhance the linguistic skills of your students.

Do we teach English or do we teach Exams? Sometimes that’s a grey area, students aren’t sure how to process information or
manipulate lexical meaning to fit a particular part of the Matura, especially that the format of the exam changes from 2015.
Well, sometimes we need to focus on that faster, give clearer connections between the language and the exam and show them
why what we're doing in class today matters for the future.
Using material from Matura Focus, a new course from Pearson that does just that, we’ll brush up on the structure of the old
exam and tackle our teaching techniques in view of the new matura format in 2015. We will also focus on some of the areas
that students particularly struggle with. We’ll look at some practical activities that can help improve students’
performance and look at some ideas that will push them to get better results.
