celebrated at 9:00 A.M in our church. At this time you can come
to pray and to Thank God for all the blessings you have received through His goodness and mercy.
If you would like to share some non-perishable food items to fill
our food pantry, please bring your donations to Mass on
Thanksgiving Day and place them on the steps in front of the
altar..
Helping hands to carry the food donations to the rectory after
the Mass will also be much appreciated.

this wafer at the Christmas
Eve supper holds a special
place in the heritage of Polish & Eastern European people.
The Choir will again make available large and small sizes
at the same prices—$2 for a large package of 4, and 75¢
each or 3/$2 for the small wafer. Look for a Choir member
the weekends of November 16/17 and 23/24. In December, we'll be in the vestibule on December 14/15 and

(Thirty-Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time), Cycle C
Luke 23:35-43
Jesus is crucified under the title King of the Jews.
Background on the Gospel Reading
Today as a Church, we conclude our liturgical year and celebrate the Feast of Christ the King. The Gospel we proclaim
shows the great mystery of our faith: In the moment of his crucifixion, Jesus is shown to be King and Savior of all.
Luke's Gospel has been loaded with surprises: the poor are rich,
sinners find salvation, the Kingdom of God is found in our midst.
Here we see the greatest surprise of all. We are confronted with
the crucified Jesus, whom faith tells us is King and Savior of all.
The irony is that the inscription placed on the cross, perhaps in
mockery, contains the profoundest of truth. As the leaders jeer,
the thief crucified by his side recognizes Jesus as Messiah and
King, and finds salvation.
Jesus is King, but not the kind of king we might have imagined or
expected. His kingship was hidden from many of his contemporaries, but those who had the eyes of faith were able to see. As
modern disciples of Jesus, we, too, struggle at times to recognize Jesus as King. Today's Gospel invites us to make our own
judgment. With eyes of faith, we, too, recognize that Jesus, the
crucified One, is indeed King and Savior of all.

las autoridades se burlaban de Jesús
diciendo: Salvó a otros; ¡que se salve
a sí mismo ahora, si de veras es el
Mesías de Dios y su escogido! Los
soldados también se burlaban de Jesús. Se acercaban a él y le daban a
beber vinagre, diciéndole: ¡Si eres el
Rey de los judíos, sálvate a ti mismo!
Y sobre su cabeza había un letrero que decía: “Éste es el Rey
de los judíos.”
Uno de los malhechores allí colgados le insultaba, diciéndole:
¡Si eres el Mesías, sálvate a ti mismo y sálvanos a nosotros!
Pero el otro reprendió a su compañero diciendo: ¿No temes a
Dios, tú que estás sufriendo el mismo castigo? Nosotros padecemos con toda razón, pues recibimos el justo pago de nuestros actos; pero éste no ha hecho nada malo. Luego añadió:
Jesús, acuérdate de mí cuando comiences a reinar. Jesús le
contestó: Te aseguro que hoy estarás conmigo en el paraíso.

Día de Dar Gracias - 28 de Noviembre
Habrá un a Misa el jueves 28 de Noviembre a las 9:00 AM
para celebrar el Día de Dar Gracias. Pedimos a todos Ustedes que traigan una lata de comida que no se eche a perder,
tales como: vegetales, frutas, arroz y frijoles leche en polvo.

Novena de Virgen de Guadalupe. La novena empezara el día 3 de diciembre y va a
terminar con la Fiesta de la Virgen de Guadalupe el día 12 de diciembre. Cada día de

Króla Wszechświata
Gdy ukrzyżowano Jezusa, lud stał i patrzył. Lecz członkowie Wysokiej Rady
drwiąco mówili: Innych wybawiał, niechże teraz siebie wybawi, jeśli On jest
Mesjaszem, Wybrańcem Bożym. Szydzili z Niego i żołnierze; podchodzili do Niego i podawali Mu ocet, mówiąc: Jeśli Ty jesteś królem żydowskim, wybaw sam siebie. Był także nad Nim napis w języku greckim, łacińskim i hebrajskim: To jest Król żydowski.
Jeden ze złoczyńców, których [tam] powieszono, urągał Mu:
Czy Ty nie jesteś Mesjaszem? Wybaw więc siebie i nas.
Lecz drugi, karcąc go, rzekł: Ty nawet Boga się nie boisz,
chociaż tę samą karę ponosisz? My przecież - sprawiedliwie,
odbieramy bowiem słuszną karę za nasze uczynki, ale On
nic złego nie uczynił. I dodał: Jezu, wspomnij na mnie, gdy
przyjdziesz do swego królestwa. Jezus mu odpowiedział:
Zaprawdę, powiadam ci: Dziś ze Mną będziesz w raju.

Uroczystość Jezusa Chrystusa Króla Wszechświata
Uroczystość Chrystusa Króla do liturgii wprowadził
papież Pius XI encykliką Quas Primas z 11 grudnia
1925 r. na zakończenie roku jubileuszowego. Nakazał
wtedy, aby we wszystkich kościołach tego dnia po
głównym nabożeństwie przed wystawionym Najświętszym Sakramentem odmówić litanię do Najświętszego Serca Pana
Jezusa oraz akt poświęcenia rodzaju ludzkiego Najświętszemu Sercu. Początkowo uroczystość obchodzono w ostatnią niedzielę października; reforma soborowa przeniosła jej termin na ostatnią niedzielę roku liturgicznego.
Uroczystość ta ma nam uświadomić, że Chrystus jest Królem całego
stworzenia - wszechświata. Jego panowanie nie wynika z jakichś
dokonań, z wybrania czy z wywalczenia tej godności. On jest Królem,
bo jest Bogiem-Człowiekiem, Stworzycielem i Odkupicielem. Z tego
właśnie tytułu ma absolutną władzę. Bóg nie tylko stworzył świat, ale
ciągle go stwarza i nim włada. Królestwo Jezusa jest czymś zupełnie
innym od wszystkich królestw ziemskich. Dotyczy ono wszystkich
narodów, wszystkich miejsc i wszystkich czasów. Ono już istnieje w
Kościele, choć jeszcze nie zostało do końca wypełnione. Dlatego
właśnie w codziennej modlitwie, którą zostawił nam sam Chrystus,
wołamy z nadzieją: Przyjdź królestwo Twoje!
Chociaż Chrystus nigdy nie nosił korony królewskiej, nie trzymał w
ręku berła i nie zasiadał na tronie królewskim, tytuł Króla najzupełniej
Mu się należy i to w zakresie, jakim nie dysponował żaden władca
świata.
Władcy ziemscy nabywają tytuł królewski przez dziedziczenie, nominację i podbój. Wszystkie trzy tytuły dają Chrystusowi pełne prawo
do korony i najwyższej władzy. Jako człowiek, w swej ludzkiej naturze, pochodził on przecież w prostej linii od króla Izraela, Dawida.
Wykazują to Ewangeliści, podając Jego rodowód (Mt 1, 5-16; Łk 3,
23-38). W narodzie wybranym ta prawda była tak pospolicie znana,
że powszechnie nazywano Go Synem Dawida (Mt 22, 41-46; Mk 12,
35-37; Łk 1, 27. 32; 20, 41-44; 2 Tm 2, 8; Ap 22, 16). Tak więc z krwi
i dziedziczenia Chrystus miał prawo do tytułu Króla.
Chrystus jest ponadto Synem Bożym, naturą równy Bogu, drugą
Osobą Trójcy Przenajświętszej. Jako taki jest Panem nieba i ziemi,
Panem najwyższym i absolutnym, z którym wszelkie królestwa ziemskie nie mogą się porównywać. Aby to powszechne władztwo Jezusa
podkreślić, liturgia dodała do tytułu "Król" dopełnienie
"Wszechświata".
Święto Dziękczynienia
W Stanach Zjednoczonych w najbliższy czwartek 28 listopada obchodzone jest Święto Dziękczynienia. Z tej okazji celebrowana będzie w
naszym kościele jedna uroczysta Msza św. o godz. 9-ej z
rana. Prosimy wszystkich o przyniesienie konserwowanej
żywności, którą będziemy składać przed ołtarzem przed złożeniem darów. Żywność ta później zostanie rozdzielona
ubogim. Biuro parafialne będzie zamknięte do poniedziałku.
Kolacja Wigilijna w naszej parafii odbędzie się w Niedziele 1 grudnia 2013 w Social Center przy 31st St. i
50th Ave., Cicero, IL. 60638. Świętowanie rozpoczniemy Mszą Święta o godzinie 11:00 rano.
