Medicus On-Line System implemented in Bielański Hospital
Impulsy (a company from the ATM Systemy Informatyczne Capital Group) in the end of the
year completed the implementation of the Medicus On -Line computer system in the
Bielański Hospital in Warsaw. The system was implemented with the aim of facilitating the
operation of this institution. The solution works with eWUŚ system. The gross value of the
contract exceeded PLN 3 million.
The
system’s
implementation
included
equipping
the
hospital
with
functionalities
for patient
registration, management of shift schedules, preparation of medical documentation and commissioning
tests. Apart from basic functionalities, the hospital was equip ped with special modules, such as hospital
infections, electronic archive, operating theatre, pharmacy or diagnostic laboratory. Moreover, Medicus
On-Line enables other functions such as managing contract settlements, determination of Diagnosis
Related Groups (JGP) and running medical statistics.
The implemented solution introduces electronic identification of patients admitted to the hospital by
automatically printing bands with a unique patient number. This number allows for a quick verification
of the patient’s data during his or her stay in the hospital, for example when blood samples are taken
or other diagnostic tests are conducted in different laboratories. The system is also equipped with
an analytic module that enables the hospital management tea m to carry out effective cost analysis.
The system is compatible with the requirements of mobile devices and works on any internet browser.
The C ompany will provide post-implementation support services for the period of three years.
In accordance with the regulations in force, Medicus On-Line supports the module of automatic patient
verification in the eWUŚ system (the electronic system for the verification of patients’ rights,
1/3
introduced on January 1st, 2013). The verification process takes place at night-time, between 2 and
5 a.m. The verification procedure adopted is aimed at improving the work of people responsible for
patient registration by informing them about the status of a patient’s medical insurance at the time of
admitting the person to the hospital.
Bielański Hospital and one of the Warsaw medical centers at Jagiellońska street were mentioned by
Michał Boni, the Minister of Administration and Digitalization, in his open letter to the newspaper
Gazeta Wyborcza on January 3rd, 2013 as examples of proper operation of the eWUŚ system.
“We treat the implementation in Bielański Hospital as a model. Not only due to the fact that the
implementation was practically seamless, but also for the reason that the system cooperates well with
eWUŚ, and therefore we can be sure that the solutions in our offer are not only functional, but also
well adapted to the legal requirements of the health care sector. This is a good sign for the future of
our company, especially as a new regulation will come into fo rce in August 2014, making an electronic
version of medical documentation obligatory,” said Marek Niewiadomski, President of the Management
Board of Impulsy Sp. z o.o.
Apart from the implementation in Bielański Hospital, in 2012 the company Impulsy implem ented the
Medicus On-Line system in the Independent Public Trust of Health C are Institutions in Mińsk
Mazowiecki and in the Warsaw-Białołęka Independent Public Health C are Institution, among others.
The company also developed system extension for the Warsa w-Ursynów Independent Public
Ambulatory C are Unit.
