.Religious Education
Practice for the reception of First Holy Communion
for students in the Religious Education Program
will take place on Tuesday , May 1, 2007 from
4PM to 6PM. The students are to meet in front of
the school (students only—no parents or small children.)
The last Religious Education Class (CCD) will be held on
Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 8am to 10am. Confirmation and
First Holy Communion certificates will be distributed to all
students who received these sacraments. IT IS MANDATORY THAT ALL TUITION AND CCD FEES ARE PAID UPTO-DATE FOR SERVICES RENDERED THROUGHOUT
THE YEAR!
The First Communion Mass for the children
that attend St. Mary of Czestochowa School
will take place on Saturday, May 5th at the
10AM Mass .
The CCD students will receive their First
Holy Communion at the 12:30PM Mass on
Saturday, May 5th.

May Crowning
All parishioners and friends of St. Mary’s parish are invited to participate in the May Crowning Ceremony on Monday, May 7th at 7:00pm.
The school children have prepared a prayerful
and beautiful ceremony to honor our Blessed
Mother as Queen of Heaven and earth.
Rosary Confraternity
The Annual Rosary Confraternity Dinner will
be held on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 1:00PM
at the Parish Social Center (50th and 31st
Street). The donation for the dinner is $15.00
per person. Members can pay their dues at the dinner. Also
donations of raffle prizes would be most appreciated. Please call

event.

Cardinal Francis George!
Cardinal Francis George will celebrate his 10th Anniversary as Cardinal of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Cardinal George was installed as Cardinal Archbishop on
May 7, 1997. One of the most important events is the Cardinal’s
Mass for his people on Saturday, May 12th at
5:15pm at the Holy Name Cathedral. You are encouraged to attend this special liturgy in honor our
Cardinal Archbishop. Please remember Cardinal
George in your prayers.

Today, Good Shepherd Sunday, is a special celebration
of World Day of Prayer for Vocations. The world-wide
Church honors all Christian vocations. We pray that our
church may be enriched by our commitment to remain
faithful to God’s call. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, guides
and protects us on our life journey. Your are invited to
participate in this faithfulness to God’s call for you.

I
In terms of eternity, how important is what
you are doing now? Maintaining this perspective can help you realize what’s important on your journey toward heaven.
Focusing on the splendid plans God has for us can help us not
get caught up in distractions or side roads that go nowhere. Consider, for example, what is in heaven and what is available here
on earth to speed us on our journey.
There, before the throne of God, he shelters us with his presence. Here, we know his presence at times when he shelters us
through a near miss in an auto accident or allows things to happen that prevent a fateful relationship from becoming more serious.
There, hunger and thirst are no more. Here, we can share what
we have by contributing to our local food cupboard or give a drink
of water to someone else in Jesus’ name.
There, the sun will not cause us to wither. Here, sitting a long
time in an uncomfortably warm waiting room teaches us patience
and hope.
There, the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be our shepherd.
Here, the Lamb guides us in the Eucharist and through the
Church.
There, God will wipe away every tear. Here, as we sit with a
friend or relative who is in the last stages of cancer, we can wipe
away his or her tears and minister Jesus’ love.
Heaven is our inheritance, thanks to the redemption Jesus won
for us. Every day that we live as sons and daughters brings us
one step closer to our true and final home. And everyday that we
live in the hope and expectation of that home, we are given countless opportunities to manifest the glory of heaven to those around
us. So let’s enjoy the trip, knowing that the destination is amazing!

El Aniversario
de Nuestro Cardinal George
Francis Cardinal George celebrará su
décimo aniversario como Cardenal de
la archidiócesis de Chicago. Cardinal
Francisco fue instalado como arzobispo cardinal el día 7 de mayo de 1997.
Con esta ocasión se celebrara la Masa
el sábado 12 de mayo a horas 5:15 P.M. en la Catedral.
Invitamos a todos que asisten a esta liturgia en honor
de nuestro Cardinal George. También recuerden a Cardinal George en sus rezos.
El día 3 de Mayo vamos a celebrar la
fiesta de San Felipe y San Santiago
Menor.
Cuando el Señor eligió a los 12 apóstoles, uno de los elegidos fue Felipe.
Santiago el Menor se le llama el Menor
para diferenciarlo del otro apóstol, Santiago el Mayor.
Este apóstol redactó uno de los escritos más agradables y provechosos de la S. Biblia. La que se llama "Carta de Santiago". La
frase más famosa de la Carta de Santiago es esta: "La fe sin
obras, está muerta".
Primera Comunión
Las pláticas para recibir Primera
Comunión se llevara a cabo el día
1 de Mayo de 2007 de 4:00PM a
6:00PM. La plática empezará en
la puerta principal de la esuela y
es solamente para los niños cuales
recibirán Primera Comunión (no padres, no familiares,
no otros niños)
La última clase de la religión se llevara a cabo el día 12
de mayo de 2007 a horas de 8:00AM a 10:00PM. En
esta reunión se repartirá los certificados de Primera Comunión y de Confirmación de los niños cuales recibieron estos sacramentos. Hasta este día deben complementar todos los pagos.
El día 5 de Mayo se llevara a cabo la Primera Comunión
de los niños de nuestra escuela a horas 10:00AM.
Los niños de las clases CCD recibirán por primera vez a

La Iglesia dedica a la Virgen María el mes de Mayo para conocer
mejor sus virtudes y amarla más.
Son muchas las virtudes de la
Virgen y podemos aprovechar
este mes para crecer en alguna de
ellas.
Se trata de que nos esforcemos
por vivir como hijos suyos. Esto
significa:
• Mirar a María como a una
madre: Platicarle todo lo que nos pasa: lo bueno y
lo malo. Saber acudir a ella en todo momento.
• Demostrarle nuestro cariño: Hacer lo que ella espera de nosotros y recordarla a lo largo del día.
• Confiar plenamente en ella: Todas las gracias que
Jesús nos da, pasan por las manos de María, y es
ella quien intercede ante su Hijo por nuestras dificultades.
• Imitar sus virtudes: Esta es la mejor manera de demostrarle nuestro amor.
• Rezar en familia las oraciones especialmente dedicadas a María, especialmente El Rosario.

Dnia 7 maja 1997 na pasterza archidiecezji Chicago został wybrany,
Cardinal Francis George. W tym roku
przypada 10-ta rocznica tego wyboru,
dlatego tez dnia 12 maja o godzinie
5:15 Cardinal Francis George odprawi Mszę św. w katedrze, na którą są
zaproszeni wszyscy wierni naszej parafii. Pamiętajmy też o naszym pasterzu w naszych modlitwach

W tradycji polskiej miesiąc
maj jest poświęcony Najświętszej Maryi Pannie. W
tym miesiącu składamy hołd
Bożej Rodzicielce odmawiając litanię loretańską do Matki Bożej jak też rozważając
tajemnice różańca świętego.
Zwróćmy uwagę by w tym
miesiącu czy to w sposób
prywatny czy też przez udział
w nabożeństwie w kościele
tej pięknej tradycji stało się
zadość i abyśmy potrafili żyć
tak jak żyła Maryja Matka Chrystusa.
Nabożeństwa Majowe w naszym kościele będą w
każdą niedzielę 15 minut przed Mszą św. Serdecznie
zachęcamy do licznego udziału w tych pięknych maryjnych nabożeństwach.

Z okazji Dnia Matki wszystkie
Msze święte 13-go maja będą odprawione w intencji matek żyjących i
zmarłych. Kopertkę z ofiarą i wypisanym imieniem matki można złożyć
do koszyka wraz z niedzielą kolektą.

Od wieków już w dniu 3-go maja
nasze myśli i serca skierowane są
na Jasną Górę, gdzie obchodzona
jest Uroczystość Najśw. Maryi
Panny Królowej Polski. W czasie
szwedzkiego potopu w 16-ym wieku ówczesny król, Jan Kazimierz miano Matkę Bożą
Królową Korony Polskiej. Ślubując Jej wierność całego narodu.
Matka Boża prowadziła i prowadzi nasz naród ku
jego przeznaczeniu poprzez wszystkie epoki chwały i
okresy narodowej niedoli.
3-ci maja to rocznica powstania konstytucji uchwalonej pod przewodnictwem Króla Stanisława Augusta.
Konstytucja 3 maja jest drugą na świcie, a pierwszą w
Europie nowoczesną konstytucją, regulującą organizację władz państwowych, a także prawa i obowiązki
obywateli.
W tym dniu 1791 r. nasi przodkowie uchwaloną ustawę zasadniczą przynieśli przed ołtarze dając wyraz
przeświadczeniu, że każde dzieło ludzkie winno odnosić się do Boga. Uczmy się od nich tej wielkiej miłości
Boga i Ojczyzny.

Parada 3-cio Majowa
Tradycyjnie już wspólnota polonijna Chicago uczestniczy w paradzie organizowanej z racji Święta 3-go Maja.
W tym roku parada odbędzie się w sobotę 5-go Maja
2007 o godzinie 11:30 AM na ulicy Columbus Dr. naprzeciw fontanny Buckingham w Chicago.
Serdecznie zapraszamy do licznego udziału w paradzie.
Zabierzmy ze sobą flagi biało-czerwone i może zwróćmy
uwagę na to by w miarę możliwości ubrać się w stroje
regionalne

z kościoła można nabyć nowy numer Tygodnika Katolickiego „Niedziela”. Znajdziemy tam bardzo ciekawe artykuły na temat życia kościoła w Polsce także naszej Archidiecezji. Czytając ten tygodnik a także inne publikacje
np. „Różaniec”, „Anioł stróż”, „Rodzina Radia Maryja”
pogłębiamy naszą wiarę oraz miłość do Boga i Kościoła.
