The open inter-faculty English FORUM is returning* as:
You are most welcome to join the open inter-faculty English discussion forum LANGUAGE EDUCATIONAL INCIDENTS at university and beyond [Językowe zdarzenia edukacyjne] LANGUAGE AS A BASIS OF PERSONAL EDUCATIONAL INCIDENTS [Język jako podstawa osobistych zdarzeń edukacyjnych] The FORUM is a continuation of previously organized discussions on Successful Instruction organised jointly by the Institute of Education and English Philology. It remains instruction-oriented but its major focus is the use of language for educational purposes. The (live!) meetings will be held on a monthly basis. The FORUM is meant for both academics as well as students. Our next meeting will be held on 19 April 2013 (Friday) at 16.00(-17.30) in Room A201 at the Institute of Education (WNS UG) The April topic reads: The what and the how of what students say – Which matters more? The forum has four aims: - (theoretical): to reflect on the gap between the language of academics and that of students, - (practical): to collect literature and research concerning classroom applications of language, - (social): to foster exchange of knowledge and ideas across faculties and institute, - (promotional): to promote the use of English and recognition of language in educational settings. Forthcoming topic (in May ): Terminology important enough to impose on students – is there any? * Should you have any questions or suggestions about the forum, or wish to inform us that you’re coming and/or receive more information, feel free to write to [email protected].
