WIELKI TYDZIEŃ
To Ostatnie dni Wielkiego Postu od Niedzieli Palmowej
do wieczora Wielkiego Czwartku, a następnie Triduum
Paschalne.
During Holy Week, we commemorate the Passion of
Christ, Who died on Good Friday in preparation for the
sins of mankind, and rose on Easter Sunday to give new
life to all who believe.
PALM SUNDAY commemorates the triumphal
entrance of Christ into Jerusalem. The procession
begins in church with the blessing of palms and
reading of the Passion according to the Gospel of
Matthew. The faithful would hold the palms to recall
that same people who greeted Christ with shouts of
joy on Palm Sunday would call for His Death on Good
Friday.
HOLY THURSDAY commemorates the institution of
three pillars of the Catholic Faith: the Sacrament of
Holy Communion, the Priesthood and the Mass. The
priests of each diocese and their bishop consecrate
holy oils, which are used for the sacraments of
Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders and the
Anointing of the sick. The Mass of the Lord's Supper
is celebrated after sundown. It ends with the removal
of the Body of Christ from the tabernacle. The
Eucharist is carried in procession to another place
where it is kept overnight, to be distributed during
the commemoration of the Lord's Passion on Good
Friday
HOLY FRIDAY commemorates the Passion and death
of Jesus Christ. It is the one day of the year on which
Mass is not celebrated. The three part Good Friday
ceremony consists of the reading of the Passion from
Gospel of John, the Veneration of the Cross, and a
Communion service. The Eucharist consumed on
Good Friday was consecrated on Holy Thursday.
Good Friday is a day of strict fasting and abstinence.
HOLY SATURDAY commemorates the day when
Jesus Christ lay in the tomb after his death. It is also
known as Easter Eve and is the last day of Lent. Many
Christians attend an Easter vigil service on Holy
Saturday. Families prepare for Easter Sunday
celebrations on the Saturday before Easter. Children
decorate eggs that later are placed in Easter baskets.
EASTER SUNDAY we celebrate the Resurrection of
Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that day Jesus was
raised from the dead, three days after his death on
the cross.
NIEDZIELA PALMOWA rozpoczyna Wielki Tydzień,
w którym obchodzi się pamiątkę Męki śmierci i
Zmartwychwstania Chrystusa. W tym dniu święci się
palmy i organizuje procesję. Wszystkie Msze św. są
wspomnieniem uroczystego wjazdu Pana Jezusa do
Jerozolimy, a szczególnie przypomina o tym,
poświęcenie palm.
TRIDUUM PASCHALNE: WIELKI CZWARTEK Msze
Św. odprawia się kościołach katedralnych. Biskup
koncelebruje z kapłanami z diecezji uroczystą Mszę
św. z poświęceniem Krzyżma (oliwa zmieszana z
balsmem, używane w sakramencie bierzmowania i
sakramencie chrztu) i oleju chorych. We wszystkich
innych kościołach odprawia się tylko jedną Mszę św.
wieczorem. Nazywamy ją "Mszą Wieczerzy Pańskiej".
WIELKI PIĄTEK W tym dniu gromadzimy się na
sprawowaniu pamiątki męki i śmierci Jezusa
Chrystusa. Liturgia zaprasza do rozważania
biblijnego opisu męki Pańskiej, a następnie adoracji i
Polsce wierni przynoszą je w pięknie przystrojonych
koszykach. Nie powinno w nich zabraknąć baranka,
który symbolizuje Chrystusa. Każdy pokarm ma
swoje znaczenie : chrzan to znak męki Pana Jezusa,
która zamieniła się w słodycz, a symbolem tej
słodyczy jest masło. Jajka, symbolizują nowe życie
Zmartwychwstałego
Pana.
Przez
święcenie
pokarmów, Kościół błogosławi byt doczesny;
podkreśla dostojność ciała, które w tym dniu
osiągnęło nieśmiertelność.
WIGILIA PASCHALNA Noc paschalną rozjaśnia
zmartwychwstały Chrystus. Jest to najważniejsze
wydarzenie w dziejach świata i ludzkości. W niej
dokonało się przejście ze śmierci do nowego życia,
przez zmartwychwstanie. Cała liturgia, pełna jest
symboli
życia.
Uroczystym
ogłoszeniem
zmartwychwstania Chrystusa i wezwania całego
stworzenia
do
udziału
w
tryumfie
Zmartwychwstałego jest Procesja Rezurekcyjna.
NIEDZIELA WIELKANOCNA Rozpoczyna się Wigilią
Paschalną, czyli Mszą Św. Zmartwychwstania Pana,
sprawowaną w sobotę wieczorem lub w nocy.
