The next Religious Education
(CCD) class will be held on Saturday morning, November 20, 2010. The CCD students are encouraged to participate in the “Annual Thanksgiving
Food Drive” by bringing to class one item of canned
or dry food. This contribution is voluntary.
We are still looking for one more catechist
because we have one very large 7th/ 8th
class we would like to break into two
smaller groups. We have books available
to guide you, and our catechetical staff is
always willing to help. We meet twice a month on Saturday morning for two hours. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share your faith. Please call the rectory 708652-0948, and leave your name and phone number.
The Christmas Wafer (Oplatki) sale.
They will available until December 19, 2010. Since
1973, the choir has provided the opportunity for
families to share in this lovely holiday tradition.

Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 21:5-19
“Jesus predicts the destruction of
the Temple in Jerusalem and warns
his followers that persecution will
come before the end time.”
Background on the Gospel
In the context of Luke, today's Gospel appears near the
end of Jesus' teaching in Jerusalem, just prior to the
events that will lead to his crucifixion. His warnings and
predictions are ominous but can be read in many ways.
To those who first heard Luke's Gospel, those may have
been words of encouragement. The destruction of the
Temple in Jerusalem by the Romans was history (70
A.D.); Luke's Gospel, Catholic scholars propose, was
written between 80 and 90 A.D. His audience was
probably Gentile Christians. Luke here tries to interpret
the fall of Jerusalem for them and to locate it in God's
plans for humankind (salvation history). At the same
time, Luke is suggesting to his audience that there will
be a considerable elapse of time before Jesus' final coming. Luke's listeners have likely seen much upheaval and
are anxious to know if these are the signs of Jesus' coming. Luke is urging greater patience.
In the second part of today's Gospel, Jesus warns that
his followers will face persecution for their beliefs. Luke
presents persecution as an opportunity for the followers
of Jesus for “It will lead to your giving testimony” (Luke 21:13). In persecution God's wisdom and
power will be shown in the example of followers of Jesus. Perseverance in the face of persecution will lead to
their salvation.
Here Jesus is assuring his followers that God is present
to all believers, even in times of trouble. Ultimately,
Jesus will witness to this with his own death. As disciples of Jesus, we try to follow his example, trusting in
God's mercy and protection, even when we are facing
difficulties.

The Internet has become the new
schoolyard for child molesters seeking
girls or boys to victimize. Internet
“chat rooms” provide a teenager with
an opportunity to engage in a “live” conversation with
friends from school or church, or with other teenagers from
around the world. A chat room is similar to an old-style party
line, except that the teens are typing. Law enforcement has
found that child molesters use chat rooms to gain easy and
safe access to teens. Because of the seemingly caring and
seductive talent of child molesters, teenagers should be
warned that when they are in a chat room, they should never
provide anyone with private information, personal information, and especially their specific physical location.

"Con su perseverancia, salvarán sus almas."
Algunos estaban hablando del templo, de la belleza de sus piedras y de las ofrendas que lo
adornaban. Jesús dijo: Vienen días en que de
todo esto que estáis viendo no quedará piedra
sobre piedra. ¡Todo sea destruido!
Preguntaron a Jesús: Maestro, ¿cuándo ocurrirán esas cosas? ¿Cuál será la señal de que están a punto de suceder?
Jesús contestó: Tened cuidado y no os dejéis
engañar. Porque vendrán muchos haciéndose
pasar por mí, y diciendo: “Yo soy” y “Ahora es el
momento”, pero no los sigáis. Y cuando oigáis
alarmas de guerras y revoluciones, no os asustéis, pues aunque todo eso tiene que ocurrir primero, aún no habrá llegado el fin.
Siguió diciéndoles: Una nación peleará contra
otra, y un país hará guerra contra otro, y habrá
grandes terremotos, hambres y enfermedades en
diferentes lugares, y en el cielo se verán cosas
espantosas y grandes señales. Pero antes de
eso os echarán mano y os perseguirán. Os llevarán a juicio en las sinagogas, os meterán en la
cárcel, y os conducirán ante reyes y gobernadores por causa mía. Así tendréis oportunidad de
dar testimonio de mí. Haceos el propósito de no
preparar de antemano vuestra defensa, porque
yo os daré palabras tan llenas de sabiduría que
ninguno de vuestros enemigos podrá resistiros ni
contradeciros en nada. Pero seréis traicionados
incluso por vuestros padres, hermanos, parientes
y amigos. Matarán a algunos de vosotros, y todo
el mundo os odiará por causa mía; pero no se
perderá ni un cabello de vuestra cabeza.

Invitamos cordialmente a participar en
la Novena de Virgen de Guadalupe. La
novena empezara el día 3 de diciembre
y va a terminar con la Fiesta de la Virgen de Guadalupe el día 12 de diciembre. Cada día de la novena vamos a
rezar el rosario y celebrar la Misa con
el sermón. Para esta novena fue invitado el P. Andrzej Koselak redentorista
de Argentina.

Gdy niektórzy mówili o świątyni, że jest przyozdobiona pięknymi kamieniami i darami, powiedział:
Przyjdzie czas, kiedy z tego, na co patrzycie, nie

zwalony. Zapytali Go: Nauczycielu, kiedy to nastąpi? I jaki będzie znak, gdy się to dziać zacznie?
Jezus odpowiedział: Strzeżcie się, żeby was nie
zwiedziono. Wielu bowiem przyjdzie pod moim
imieniem i będą mówić: Ja jestem oraz: Nadszedł
czas. Nie chodźcie za nimi. I nie trwóżcie się, gdy
posłyszycie o wojnach i przewrotach. To najpierw
musi się stać, ale nie zaraz nastąpi koniec. Wtedy
mówił do nich: Powstanie naród przeciw narodowi
i królestwo przeciw królestwu. Będą silne trzęsienia ziemi, a miejscami głód i zaraza; ukażą się
straszne zjawiska i wielkie znaki na niebie. Lecz
przed tym wszystkim podniosą na was ręce i będą
was prześladować. Wydadzą was do synagog i do
więzień oraz z powodu mojego imienia wlec was
będą do królów i namiestników. Będzie to dla was
sposobność do składania świadectwa. Postanówcie sobie w sercu nie obmyślać naprzód swej
obrony. Ja bowiem dam wam wymowę i mądrość,
której żaden z waszych prześladowców nie będzie
się mógł oprzeć ani się sprzeciwić. A wydawać
was będą nawet rodzice i bracia, krewni i przyjaciele i niektórych z was o śmierć przyprawią. I z
powodu mojego imienia będziecie w nienawiści u
wszystkich. Ale włos z głowy wam nie zginie.

Warunki dobrej spowiedzi!
Nawrócenie jest procesem wewnętrznym mającym swoje etapy.
Pierwszym krokiem zmierzającym
ku przemianie jest uznanie swojej
grzeszności i egoizmu. Dokonuje
się to w czasie rachunku sumienia. Jeśli mamy w
sobie miłość wzbudzoną przez łaskę, świadomość grzechów doprowadzi nas do ubolewania
nad tym, że znieważyliśmy Boga, że skrzywdziliśmy bliźnich. To ubolewanie nazywamy żalem za
grzechy. Cierpienie z powodu wyrządzonych Bogu i ludziom zniewag prowadzi do kolejnego etapu nawrócenia, którym będzie postanowienie poprawy, czyli decyzja wkroczenia na drogę miłości
do Boga i do ludzi. Wyznanie grzechów jest uzewnętrznieniem naszego nawrócenia się, jest
przyznaniem się do swoich błędów i wyrażeniem
skruchy. Oskarżenie siebie przed Bogiem i kapłanem w sakramencie pojednania wyraża chęć rozpoczęcia nowego życia, opartego na miłości do
Boga i braci. I wreszcie zadośćuczynienie stanowi kolejny etap nawrócenia: kto kocha, ten nie
przejdzie obojętnie obok wyrządzonych przez
siebie krzywd, ten zacznie wszystko naprawiać i
wynagradzać innym spowodowane zło.
W sakramencie pokuty spotykamy się z miłosiernym Bogiem. Dzieło pojednania jest owocem
działania trzech osób Trójcy Świętej: Ojca, Syna i
Ducha Świętego. W skruszonym i żałującym
grzeszniku dokonuje się, pod wpływem łaski Bożej, głęboka przemiana i nadprzyrodzone odrodzenie. Pogrążony w śmierci grzechowej człowiek odzyskuje dar życia Bożego, nazywany
usprawiedliwieniem lub łaską uświęcającą. To
przekształcenie nie dokonuje się jednak bez
świadomego i dobrowolnego współdziałania człowieka polegającego na ciągłym nawracaniu się.
Istotą tego nawrócenia - możliwego do zrealizowania dzięki ciągłemu uprzedzającemu i towarzyszącemu działaniu łaski Bożej - jest przejście z
grzechu, egoizmu, służenia wyłącznie sobie do
postawy szczerej miłości do Boga i do człowieka.
W miesiącu Listopadzie w każdą niedzielę
przed Mszą św. o godzinie 9:30AM jest
odmawiana Koronka do Bożego Miłosierdzia z Wypominkami za naszych zmarłych.
