Press conference concerning the predefined Project Reducing social
inequalities in health
On 26. March 2014 an inauguration press conference concerning the pre-defined Project Reducing social inequalities in health took place in Ministry of
Health. Representatives of the government administration, the National Health Fund and local self-governments, as well as media representatives such
as: PAP (Polish Press Agency), Gazeta Lekarska and Rynek Zdrowia took part in this event.
The participants were welcomed by Ms Sylwia Lis – Director of Department of Health Insurance and Manager of the Project.
As the first speaker Mr Michał Kępowicz, Director of Department of European Funds, presented a general information about the Programme PL 13,
consisting from the pre-defined Project and pilot projects.
After the introduction by Mr Kępowicz Mr Michał Marek from the Department of Health Insurance took the floor to give a broad outline of the Projects
background, objectives, activities and expected results.
As the last speaker Professor Bogdan Wojtyniak, representing the National Institute of Public Health, took the floor. He explained the concept of social
inequalities in Health, gave an overview of international and Polish research in this area and presented possible actions aimed at reducing social
inequalities in health.
