Sacrament Of The Sick:
Sick Calls or other Emergency Calls should be made to the
rectory at any time. Arrangements can also be made for regular
visitations at home or hospital for Holy Communion and/or
Confession. We urge you to keep us aware of parishioners who
are ill in the hospital or at home.
Marriages:
Please make arrangements at least one year in advance.
Couples are urged to solemnize their vows at a Nuptial Mass.
Baptisms:
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated each month on the First
Sunday (in English) and on the Third Sunday (in Polish). A
required Baptismal Program for Parents is conducted at 1:00 pm
on the second Sunday of the month in Polish and on the last
Sunday in English.
Novenas:
Every Tuesday Evening to Saint Anne following the 7:00 pm Mass.
Every Thursday Evening to Divine Mercy following the 7:00 pm

this milestone.

of Mt. Carmel Parish

deep personal spirituality of the Archbishop,
I thought he would really appreciate a
Spiritual Bouquet of Masses and Rosaries.
If you would like to offer a Mass or Rosary for

50 - 50 news
The Yearly Super 50/50 is one of the major fund
raisers for our parish.
The parish relies on the Picnic and the Super 50/50
to make up for the deficit in our budget.
This year we have re-designed the 50/50.
It is in the form of a “Dark Horse”
There will be 3 winners. The first receives 35 %
of the prize money.
The second: 10%. The third : 5%.
Fifty percent of the money taken in will be
designated for the winners.
Needless to say, the more people in it; the greater
the prizes!

3 października 2011 mija 10. rocznica
powołania na stolicę archidiecezji
naszego arcybiskupa, John Joseph Myers.
Wdzięczni Bogu za10 lat posługi Arcybiskupa,
pomyślałem, że Matka Boża Szkaplerzna,
patronka naszej parafii może wyprosić
szczególne łaski. Znając głęboką duchowości
Arcybiskupa, pomyślałam, że wspaniałym
prezentem będzie Msza św i modlitwy w
intencji Arcybiskupa.
Jeśli chcesz włączyć się w to piekne dzieło,
podpisz się do 25 września na odpowiednim
arkuszu przy wejściach do kościoła. Specjalna
kartka z bukietem naszych duchowych darów
zostanie wysłana do Ks. Arcybiskupa przed
03 października.

W dzisiejszą niedzielę, obchodzimy 10. rocznicę
tragedii z 11 września 2001 r. Po Mszy Św. o
godzinie 12:15 w naszym kościele rozpocznie się
Adoracja Najświętszego Sakramentu. Adoracja
zakończy się specjalnym nabożeństwem o
godzinie 3:00 PM.
Uroczystość dla Miasta Bayonne odbędzie się o
godzinie 7:00 PM w Waterfront Park.
KATECHIZACJA
Tegoroczną katechezę rozpoczynamy 11 września
2011 r. Zajęcia odbywać się będą w budynku

Święto Podwyższenia
Krzyża Świętego
Dzień 14 września jest szczególną okazją do refleksji i
zatrzymania się przy krzyżu. Dlaczego akurat w tym
czasie? Historia tego święta sięga pierwszych wieków
chrześcijaństwa, jej początek związany jest z
odnalezieniem krzyża, na którym umarł Jezus. Jedna z
legend głosi, że krzyż, ukryty z obawy przed
zniszczeniem przez Żydów czy Rzymian, został
odnaleziony przez żonę cesarza Klaudiusza, Petronikę,
nawróconą dzięki nauczaniu św. Piotra. Inna, bardziej
znana dzisiaj legenda przypisuje odnalezienie krzyża
św. Helenie, matce cesarza Konstantyna Wielkiego.
Właśnie ta legenda podaje również, że pielgrzymi
przebywający w Jerozolimie podczas odnalezienia
krzyża, z radości, że widzą tak cenną relikwię, brali
udział w obnoszeniu krzyża po świątyni i podnoszeniu
go w czterech jej miejscach dla uczczenia przez lud.
To był początek podwyższenia krzyża świętego, ale
zwyczaj ten został jeszcze umocniony przez cesarza
bizantyjskiego Herakliusza, który odzyskał Relikwię
Krzyża zrabowaną przez Persów i osobiście wniósł ją
do Jerozolimy. Było to tzw. powtórne podwyższenie
krzyża, którego pamiątkę obchodzi się co roku 14
września. Do Soboru Watykańskiego II święto
odnalezienia krzyża było obchodzone osobno, w maju,
ale dzisiaj pozostało tylko wrześniowe święto, które
łączy te dwa wspomnienia. W liturgii święto jest
obecne od IV wieku. Obchodzi je zarówno Kościół
Katolicki jak i Prawosławny.
