“You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with
all your soul, and with all your mind.”(Mt. 22:37)
LOVE SHOWN IN ACTION
Do you receive the word of God with joy as
the Thessalonians did? Their faith showed in
their actions. They became models for other
believers.
The first reading tells us to put our faith into
action. This passage is part of a long list of ordinances God
commanded the Israelites to observe. God will judge us by how
we treat our neighbors. God will hear the cries of any whom we
neglect or mistreat and will come to their defense.
In today’s Gospel the Pharisees put the question of God’s law
to Jesus. “Which commandment of the law is the greatest?”(Matthew 22:36) How could he possibly choose from all
the detailed commandments the Jews observed? He was sure to
offend somebody by his answer! Of course, Jesus went right to
the heart of the matter. Love is the greatest commandment:
love of God and love of neighbor. Everything else is based on
this.
ROSARY DEVOTIONS
Please come to our Basilica and join us for our October traditional Rosary Devotions Monday through Friday at 7:00pm and
on Sunday after 11:00am Mass
On Monday, Oct. 27th, the students of religious education
will participate in the Living Rosary devotion at 5:30pm. The
7:00 pm devotion will not be held on this day.
The flowers placed in front of the Blessed Mother altar on
October 25th are in honor of Frances Petrin’s 101st birthday
given by her grandchildren and great grandchildren

MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
Participation in the Eucharistic sacrifice on All Souls Day has
been for centuries an integral part of our devotional life. Therefore on Sunday, November 2nd, we will all come to church for
the Annual Mass of Remembrance at 5pm to pray for our
departed loved ones. We invite especially those family members whose loved ones passed away this year, to offer for them
the most effective prayer, the Eucharistic sacrifice. The Bereavement Committee will provide the usual assistance at Mass.
HAM AND BEAN SUPPER RECAP
The Parish Council reports that the Ham and Bean Supper
was a successful event. The income totaled $625 and expenses
were $255.48. The profit was $369.52. Thank you to all who
supported this supper. A special thank you to Clem Starosta and
his team for donating their labor and expertise in providing this
delicious meal.

DEVOTION AND NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH
We invite parishioners and friends to come to our Basilica
for our weekly Devotion and Novena to our Patron. This week
the members of Parish Council will assist in carrying St. Joseph’s statue from the Our Lady of Czestochowa Chapel and
placing it in the sanctuary.
St. Joseph was a man of quiet strength, integrity and fidelity.
Let us come together to ask St. Joseph for the grace to grow in
these virtues and the wisdom to pass them along to our future
generation.
We ask that you kindly note your needs on the petition slips
available in the Chapel. Your requests will be read during the
service. Thank you for your offerings.
OFFICE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
On Monday, Oct. 27th, the students with their parents will
meet in church to participate in the Living Rosary devotion at
5:30pm.
Confirmation - schedule has been mailed to students who
have registered. It is the obligation of parents that their children receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. First session will
be on Sun., Nov. 2 at 8:15am in the rectory. If you have not as

CEMETERY PROCESSION
The annual cemetery procession will take place on October
26th at 2:00pm. We kindly request that all organizations with
their banners and medals meet at the cross for the devotion

votive lights customary for this occasion will be available before the procession at the cemetery garage.
If your deceased family member is buried in a different place,
you might want to light a candle, say a prayer, and put the candle at the foot of the cross.
SAINT JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN’S CLUB
Back by popular demand — A Splash of Panache Vendor
Event returns, sponsored by the St. Joseph Polish Women’s
Club of Webster, MA. It promises to be an event you won’t
want to miss!
The event will be held on Sunday November 9th at Point
Breeze Restaurant from 1pm to 5pm. Tickets are $20, which
includes hot and cold appetizers and a beautifully decorated gift
bag filled with wonderful donated items from our members and
vendors.
The attendance raffle will be (4) tickets to “A Christmas
Carol” and after-party tickets at a restaurant, courtesy of Hanover Theatre. There will be a Special Gifts Raffle, Lottery Raffle, and over 40 vendors on hand for your shopping pleasure.

ALL SOULS DAY
All Souls Day with its devotional and liturgical practices
brings the reality of life eternal into our consciousness. The
prayers at the cemetery and the Mass on All Souls Day, as well
as forty Masses throughout the year, are for the repose of the
souls mentioned in the Wypominki envelopes. The names you
submit in the envelopes will be read and prayed for before each
Mass on All Souls Day. We kindly ask that you print the
names clearly and return the envelopes with your offering before October 31st.
All Christians believe in three last things: death, judgment,
heaven and hell. Purgatory is usually not mentioned because
Purgatory is like a remedial class for the souls destined for
heaven. They have been judged worthy to inherit eternal life in
heaven but not right away. They still need a purification. The
most important help we can offer for the souls in Purgatory is
the sacrifice of Jesus Christ-the Holy Mass.
Also, our prayers and acts of charity on behalf of our loved
ones, is a helpful practice for the souls in Purgatory. Perhaps
somebody from our family who entered eternity is waiting for
our help.
On All Souls Day we can obtain a plenary indulgence once a
day for a particular soul and a partial indulgence as many times
as you visit the cemetery or Basilica, pray for the intention of
the Holy Father and receive the Eucharist or sacrament of Penance if needed. Indulgences can be obtained for the whole week
and likewise the Rosary will be said in church for the deceased
on Monday, Nov. 3rd, Tuesday, Nov. 4th and Thursday, Nov.
6th at 7pm.
CONGRATULATIONS, FR. RYSZARD
On Sunday, Oct 19th at the Forty Hours devotion at 4 pm, the
installation of the new pastor at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish in Worcester took place. Fr. Ted Stachura retired, and Fr.
Ryszard Polek former assistant at St. Joseph Basilica was appointed as new pastor. Fr. Ryszard outlined his immediate
goals, which include increasing enrollment at St. Mary’s
School, introducing technology, and the renovation of the rectory. His faithful parishioners responded generously to his appeal by registering children to St. Mary’s School, volunteering
their time in renovating the rectory, putting in new oak floors,
donating furniture, and generous monetary donations.
We wish Fr. Ryszard Polek many blessings of God and cooperation of his people to achieve his goals.

SJS Bike-A-Thon For Fitness and Health—This fundraiser
brought in a sum of money in excess of $2,000 from the
participants. SJS will be donating a check in excess of $1,000
each to Harrington Health Care toward their new emergency
room next week and toward the development of the new
Richard A. Nowak Gymnasium.
October is National Breast Cancer Month– SJS Had a “Pink
Out Day” on Oct. 15th.. Participating students donated a sum of
$300 which will be presented to Harrington Health Care at a
special presentation next week.
ST. MARY’S HIGH SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COLLECTION
The Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Council 12980 has for
the past 9 years raised money during this time of year to help
feed those who need help. Last year we raised enough to feed

TRZYDZIESTA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA

„Będziesz miłował Pana Boga swego całym swoim sercem, całą swoją
duszą i całym swoim umysłem.” (Mt 22, 37)
„Niech się weseli serce szukających Pana” –
głosi antyfona na wejście. Weselcie się wy,
którzy Go szukacie, albowiem szukając, już Go
znaleźliście. Pan bowiem jest łaskawy
i litościwy, słyszy nasze nawet najbardziej
ukryte tęsknoty. Wybiega nam naprzeciw po
każdej, nawet najlichszej kładce, jaką zechcemy do Niego
przerzucić nad przepaścią naszej samotności i grzechu. Dziś
oczekuje nas przy swoim stole, by pokrzepić i uleczyć nasze
serca i uczynić je naczyniami miłosierdzia, z których każdy
będzie mógł zaczerpnąć i napić się do woli. Aby ci, którzy się
z nami spotkają, doświadczyli, że Bóg jest miłością.

NABOŻEŃSTWO RÓŻAŃCOWE
W miesiącu październiku zapraszamy wszystkich do odmawiania
Różańca. W naszej Bazylice nabożeństwa różańcowe odbywają się
codziennie od poniedziałku do piątku o godz. 19:00 oraz w niedziele
po Mszy św. o godz. 11:00. Tych, którzy nie mogą dołączyć się
do wspólnej modlitwy zachęcamy do odmawiania Różańca
indywidualnie bądź w gronie rodzinnym.
W najbliższy poniedziałek Nabożeństwo Różańcowe wyjątkowo
o godz. 17:30 wraz z dziećmi uczęszczającymi na katechizację.
PROCESJA NA CMENTARZU
Dziś po południa na naszym parafialnym cmentarzu o godz. 14:00
odbędzie się doroczna procesja połączona z modlitwą za zmarłych.
Uprzejmie prosimy, aby wszystkie organizacje parafialne wzięły
udział w tej procesji niosąc swoje sztandary i odznaczenia.
Zapraszamy również tych, którzy nie należą do naszej parafii lub mają
bliskich zmarłych pochowanych na odległych cmentarzach, aby
przyłączyli się do na i w ten sposób uhonorowali swoich najbliższych
i ich pamięć. Procesja rozpoczyna się przy krzyżu. Przed procesją
będzie można zaopatrzyć się znicze, które będą dostępne w biurze
cmentarza.
Znicze ku pamięci zmarłych, którzy nie są pochowani na naszym
cmentarzu będzie można ustawiać u stup krzyża.
DZIEŃ ZADUSZNY
Obchody Uroczystości Wszystkich Świętych, poprzez odprawiane
modlitwy i obrzędy przywołują do świadomości rzeczywistość życia
wiecznego. W tym uroczystym dniu wszystkie Msze św. jak również
pięćdziesiąt Mszy św. w ciągu całego roku będą sprawowane
w intencji Naszych bliskich zmarłych, których imiona zostaną
zapisane na specjalnych wypominkowych kopertach. Imiona zmarłych
będą czytane w trakcie Mszy św. w Dzień Zaduszny. Bardzo prosimy
o BARDZO CZYTELNE zapisywanie imion.
Wszyscy chrześcijanie wierzą w trzy rzeczy ostateczne: śmierć, sąd i
niebo albo piekło. Czyściec nie jest zwykle wymieniony pośród nich,
ponieważ jest to tylko miejsce pobytu czasowego dla tych, którzy
muszą oczyścić się zanim wejdą do nieba. Zostali uznani za godnych,
aby osiągnąć życie wieczne w niebie, ale nie od razu. Nadal potrzebują
czyszczenia. Możemy im pomóc w tym oczyszczeniu ofiarując za ich
dusze Mszy św., które poprzez swoją naturę są zakorzenienie w
zbawczej męce Chrystusa.
W Dzień Zaduszny możemy uzyskać odpust zupełny raz dziennie dla
jednej duszy oraz odpust cząstkowy za każdym razem kiedy nabożnie
odwiedzimy cmentarz lub Bazylikę i pomodlimy sią w intencji Ojca
Świętego oraz przyjmiemy Komunie św. a także w razie potrzeby
przystąpimy do spowiedzi. Odpusty można uzyskać przez cały tydzień
oktawy Wszystkich Świętych.
W naszej parafii będziemy również odmawiać różaniec za zmarłych
w następujące dni: poniedziałek, wtorek oraz czwartek o godz. 19:00.
GRATULACJE DLA KSIĘDZA RYSZARDA
W niedzielę, 19 października, w czasie Nabożeństwa
Czterdziestogodzinnego, odbyła się instalacja nowego proboszcza
w parafii Matki Boskiej Częstochowskiej w Worcester. Nowy
proboszczem, na miejsce odchodzącego na emeryturę ks. Tadeusza
Stachury, został dotychczasowy wikariusz, ks. Ryszard Polek.
Ks. Ryszard przedstawił swoje priorytety duszpasterskie, które
obejmują zwiększenie do szkoły, wprowadzanie nowych technologii
do procesu edukacji oraz remont plebanii. Jego wierni parafianie
odpowiedzieli wielkodusznie do jego apel zapisując swoje dzieci do
parafialnej szkoły, poświęcając swój czas i środki na remont plebanii,
układając dębowe podłogi oraz ofiarowując meble i datki pieniężne.
Życzymy ks. Ryszardowi Polek wielu błogosławieństw od Boga i
wspaniałej współpracy z parafianami.
RELIGIA
Katecheza - W poniedziałek 27 października spotykamy się w
kościele o godz. 17:30 na nabożeństwie Żywego Różańca.
Bardzo prosimy, aby w powyższe dni przywozić dzieci prosto do
kościoła. Do udziału w spotkaniach zapraszamy również rodziców.
Bierzmowanie – Program spotkań dla kandydatów do Sakramentu
Bierzmowania został rozesłany do kandydatów. Pierwsze spotkanie
odbędzie się w niedzielę 2 listopada o godz. 8:15 na plebanii.
Obowiązkiem każdego rodzica jest zadbanie, aby ich dzieci przyjęły

Uwaga! - W ten weekend, po wszystkich Mszach św., członkinie
SJPWC będą sprzedawały bilety na Splash of Panache Vendor
Event, który odbędzie się w niedzielę, 9 listopada w godz. od 13:00 do
17:00 w Point Breeze Restaurant. Cena jednego biletu: 20 dolarów.
Każdy uczestnik otrzyma przy wejściu upominek. Będzie można
również nabyć kupony na loterię w cenie 10 dolarów.
MSZA ZA ZMARŁYCH
Doroczna Msza za zmarłych, naszych bliskich i parafian, którzy
zmarli w ostatnim roku, zostanie odprawiona w niedzielę 2 listopada o
godz. 17:00. Serdecznie zapraszamy całą wspólnotę parafialną
Bazyliki św. Józefa, zwłaszcza zaś członków rodzin, których bliscy
odeszli w tym roku do wieczności.

Miesiąc listopad oferuje nam możliwość refleksji nad życiem
wiecznym. Wszyscy mamy nadzieję na wieczne zbawienie i wieczną

ZABAWA ANDRZEJKOWA
Polska Szkoła Sobotnia w Webster serdecznie zaprasza na zabawę
andrzejkową w sobotę, 22 listopada, 2014 roku od 6:30 pm do
12:30am w PACC przy 37 Harris St. w Webster. Do tańca grał będzie
bardzo popularny w Polsce Adam Chrola i „Vademecum”. W cenę
biletu $35 od osoby wliczony jest obiad, deser i super zabawa. Po
