Stewardship Note: “Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not tell you that
if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Many
of us say that we believe in God. We go to church on Sunday.
We volunteer for events at our parish. But when life gets hard,
the pressure is on, things aren’t going our way, do we really
believe, do we really put our trust in the Lord? When we live a
life of gratitude, being thankful for the gifts we have been
given, we really do see that God is providing all that we need.

LIFE FROM DEATH
Lent is about Easter and Easter is about life
after death. As we draw closer to Easter, the
Sunday readings become more and more explicit about this.
In a rather dry, matter-of-fact way, today’s
reading from St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans
teaches that our “mortal bodies” will be raised to life. But in a
far more gripping way, the Lord shouts at us through the
prophet Ezekiel, “O my people, I will open your graves . . . I
will put my spirit in you . . . I have promised, and I will do it.”
When Jesus saw the people weeping over the death of Lazarus,
he was troubled in spirit and moved by the deepest emotions.
Approaching the tomb, Jesus himself began to weep. He loved
Lazarus.
In fact, Jesus loved Lazarus so much that he snatched him
out of his tomb, back to life. That’s how God loves us.
The second collection this week is for Diocesan Obligations.
Next week’s second collection is designated for Higher
Utility and Energy Costs.
ST. JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN’S CLUB
We welcome the members of the St. Joseph Polish Women’s
Club to this Sunday’s Liturgy at 8:15am.
This parish organization has made significant contributions to
St. Joseph School throughout its over 60 years of existence.

DEVOTION AND NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH
Pope Francis reminds us that St. Joseph our Patron exercises
his role as protector because he is able to hear God’s voice and
be guided by his will. For this reason he is all the more sensitive to the persons entrusted to his safekeeping. In this way we
also learn how to respond to God’s call, readily and willingly
and also see the core of the Christian vocation which is Christ!
Let us protect Christ in our lives, so that we can protect others
so that we can protect creation.
On Wed., April 9th we invite the Lectors to assist in bringing
the St. Joseph statue into the sanctuary. We kindly ask parishioners and friends to join in this Novena to ask our patron’s
guidance in granting of personal favors.

MEETINGS
NEASC Accreditation Team - will be at St. Joseph School
on Sunday, Apr. 6th through Wed. Apr. 9th. The school has
been preparing for this event for the past 18 months.
St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club - will meet on Tues., April
8 at 7:00pm in the school cafeteria. This month’s program is
Self Defense for Women. Hostess for the evening is Sheila
Kusek, along with Arlene Gasparik, Sue Werbecki and Diane
Gajewski.

Holy Rosary Sodality - The Annual Stations of the Cross with
Mary will be held on Friday, April 11 at 7:00pm. Please join us for
this beautiful commemoration of Jesus’ path to Calvary through the
eyes of his mother, Mary. Children of Mary will participate with Sodality members.
PALM SUNDAY
Next Sunday, April 13th is Palm Sunday when we enter Holy
Week and reflect on the passion of Jesus Christ which leads to
the Resurrection on Easter Sunday. On Palm Sunday, we commemorate the Lord’s entrance into Jerusalem. A solemn procession with palms will take place in the Basilica before the
11:00am Mass with the participation of the Sacred Heart Society. During the Mass the Passion of Jesus Christ will be sung
by the choir.
We kindly invite parishioners to participate and relive this
beautiful solemnity.
SCHOOL NEWS
Diocesan Declamation Contest-was held on Sat., Mar. 29th
at St. Peter-Marian Jr.-Sr. High School in Worcester.
Fourteen 6th, 7th & 8th grade students of SJS participated.
In the Reading Event category, Gr. 8 students, Shauna Harney
and Pamela Kalinowski were awarded 1st place in Play Reading for their presentation of Dud Wars.
In the Memorized Event category, Bartosz Mamro and Justyn
Sudyka received 1st place in Gr. 7 Duo Interpretation for Therapy. Brandon Goguen and Taylor Strong received 3rd place in
Gr. 8 Duo Interpretation for A Grave Situation.
Also representing SJS were Gr. 6 students, Abigail Duval &
Jessica Gardner; Gr. 7 students, Noah Boudreau, Noah Desilet,

ST. JOSEPH GARDEN OF PEACE
It is springtime—which brings to us the task of cleaning the
resting place of our deceased loved ones. Please remove all
winter baskets, wreaths and decorations by Saturday, April
12th.
If you place new decorations, please make sure that they are
secure and will not be blown onto some else’s lot. Since we do
not have full-time personnel, we kindly ask you, our parishioners, for your assistance in tidying up the area of your family
gravesite.

41ST PARISH FESTIVAL
MARK YOUR CALENDAR-JUNE 13, 14 & 15 is fast approaching. The money raffle is a major attraction and most beneficial to our
school. Prizes total $4,000 and this year we have an Early Bird Special. When you return your tickets before May 1st you will be entered
to win a 2-night stay in Hyannis, MA from Sept. 30th to June 30, 2014,
all courtesy of parishioner Clem Starosta. Tickets have been mailed to
you and we kindly ask that you sell these to family and friends. More
tickets can be obtained at the rectory. Watch for many new and exciting events that the committee is planning.
We ask parishioners to contact our General Chairperson, Jenn

someone to be in charge of the Pastry Booth as Mrs. Reine Gorski, and
her family have retired after many years of dedicated service. We
thank the Gorski family for their commitment to our parish.

YOUTH GROUP
Sunday, Apr. 6th, Passion Play practice: 2:00—5:00pm
at Sacred Heart Church; 5:00pm Dinner at the Youth Center;

Everyone is invited to attend the Youth Group’s
interpretation of the Passion of our Lord on Good Friday, April
18th at 12pm at Sacred Heart Church.

June 23 - 27: “Camp Catholic” Vacation Bible School. The
VBS is for kids in gr. 1-5. Kids in gr. 6-12 are eligible to be

Annual Priesthood Discernment Retreat-will take place on Fri.,
Apr. 11th & Sat., Apr. 12th at the Immaculate Conception Retreat
Center, Putnam, CT. The retreat will begin with dinner at 6:00pm on
Fri. and conclude with dinner at 6:00pm on Sat. Between those hours,

Annual Daffodil Tea - is being hosted by the United Church of
Christ, Federated, 4 Church St., Webster on Sat., Apr. 12 at 12:30pm.

Bette Johnson-an alumnus of St. Joseph School will be at Booklovers Gourmet, East Main St., on Sat., April 12 from 2-4pm for a
book signing and talk about her novel “Admissions Lottery”.
40 Days for Life-ongoing campaign will run through April 13th
(Palm Sunday). A daily peaceful, public prayer vigil will be held each
day from 7am—7pm across the street from Planned Parenthood, 470

Healthcare Professionals Conference-The 10th Annual Divine
Mercy Medicine, Bioethics and Spirituality Conference will be held at
the College of the Holy Cross, Hogan Campus Center, Worcester on
May 7 & 8. The conference includes Bishop McManus and keynote

Droga Krzyżowa- w każdy piątek o godz. 13:30 w języku
angielskim wraz z uczniami naszej szkoły, o godz. 19:00
w języku polskim.
Spowiedź - każdego dnia po Mszy św. o godz. 06:30 oraz
w soboty o godz. 15:00, w każdy wtorek od godz. 19:00
do 20:00, oraz w niedzielę przed Mszą św. o godz. 11:00
oraz przed nabożeństwem Gorzkich Żali o godz. 14:30, a także
w piątki przed Drogą Krzyżową o godz. 18:30.
Dzisiejszej niedzieli nadaje ton liturgia
Zmartwychwstania; w niej zaś wybija się myśl
o Jezusie, zdroju życia zdolnym ożywiać nawet
umarłych. „Udzielę wam mego ducha po to,
byście ożyli” (Ez 37, 14). Proroctwo, które
czytamy u Ezechiela, odnosiło się bezpośrednio
do odnowienia moralnego i politycznego Izraela,
zdziesiątkowanego i wyniszczonego przez niewolę;
odnowienie przyrównane do zmartwychwstania miało stworzyć
z Izraela naród wolny, co też w istocie się stało po powrocie z
Babilonu. Lecz równocześnie zapowiada ono erę mesjańską
wyróżniającą się przez wskrzeszenie dusz i ciał, czego dokonał
Syn Boży. Wróży też ono koniec czasów, kiedy to nastąpi
zmartwychwstanie ciała.

ST. JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN’S CLUB
Dzisiejszej niedzieli, na Mszy św. o godz. 8:15 modlimy się z
członkiniami St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club. Kobiety te przez 50 lat
istnienia Klubu w znaczący sposób przyczyniają się do życia
i funkcjonowania naszej parafii. Po Mszy spotykamy się na
uroczystym śniadaniu, które będzie serwowane w szkolnej kafeterii.
Zapraszamy parafian do udziału w tej celebracji i otoczenia członków
Klubu życzliwą i modlitewną pamięcią.
NOWENNA DO ŚW. JÓZEFA
Papież Franciszek przypomina, że św. Józef, nasz Patron, jest bardzo
dobrym wspomożycielem, gdyż wsłuchuje się w niebie w głos Boga
i może działać zgodne z Jego wolą. Z tego powodu, jest on bardzo
wrażliwy i czuły dla tych, którzy powierzają się jego opiece. W ten
sposób również i my uczymy się jak odpowiadać na Boże wezwania
i zbliżać się do Chrystusa, który jest centrum naszego
chrześcijańskiego życia. Zachowujmy obecność Chrystusa w naszym
życiu, a przez to będziemy w stanie przekazywać Go innym
i ochraniać Jego królestwo.
W środę, 9 kwietnia będziemy oddawali cześć Bogu za przyczyną
św. Józefa wraz z lektorami, którzy poniosą figurę naszego Patrona
w procesji na rozpoczęcie i zakończenie celebracji. Zapraszamy
również parafian i przyjaciół naszej parafialnej rodziny do wspólnej
modlitwy o potrzebna nam na co dzień łaski i Bożą opiekę
PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Działalność charytatywna Kościoła opiera się w głównej mierze
na ofiarności wiernych. Dlatego jak co roku, również i obecnie
Diecezja poporosiła nas o wsparcie. Suma, o jaką zostaliśmy poroszeni
jest możliwa do zebrania tylko dzięki Waszej ofiarności
i zaangażowaniu. Jak dotąd zebraliśmy $13789 co stanowi niewiele
ponad połowę kwoty, o którą zostaliśmy poproszeni. Chętnych do
przyłączenia się do działalności charytatywnej w naszej diecezji
zapraszamy do składania ofiar pieniężnych w kancelarii parafialnej,
bądź do składania zobowiązań, które będą spełniane w ciągu roku.
Odpowiednie koperty znajdują się w ławkach. Bóg zapłać wszystkim
ofiarodawcom, którzy z dobrej woli i dobroci serca chcą pomóc
ludziom znajdującym się w potrzebie.
41 FESTIWAL PARAFIALNY
Tegoroczny festiwal odbędzie się w dniach 13, 14 i 15 czerwca.
Kupony na loterię pieniężną zostały wysłane do parafian w tym
tygodniu. Prosimy o zachęcenie do udziału w loteri również przyjaciół
i znajomych. Więcej kuponów można otrzymać na plebanii.
Spacial Gift Boot – Datki oraz fanty prosimy przynosić na plebanię.
Można też użyć specjalnej koperty z napisem „Special Gift Donation”
i włożyć ja do koszyka z kolektą. Na ofiarowanych rzeczach lub

HOME SCHOOL ASSOCIACION
Doroczna aukcja organizowana przez HSA odbędzie się w sobotę,
17 maja w godz. od 18:00 do 23:00 w PACC. Bilety są już w
sprzedaży w cenie $20 za osobę lub $35 za parę. Kolacja o godz.18:30,
licytacji na żywo o godz. 20:00.
Darowizny na rzecz aukcji mogą być składane do sekretariatu

RELIGIA

SPOTKANIA
NEASC Acreditation Team będzie obecny w naszej szkole
od dzisiejszej niedzieli do środy. Jest to już koniec procesu akredytacji,
który nasza szkoła podjęła 18 miesięcy temu.
St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club – spotkanie we wtorek, 8
Kwietnia o godz. 19:00 w szkolnej kafeterii. Tematem spotkania w
tym miesiącu będzie samoobrona dla kobiet. Spotkanie przygotowują
Sheila Kusek, Arlene Gasparik, Sue Werbecki oraz Diane Gajewski.
PODZIĘKOWANIE
St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club dziękuje wszystkim, którzy
pomagali w czasie Vendor Event and Bake Sale w ubiegłym tygodniu.
Następujące osoby zwyciężyły w loterii: pierwsza nagroda - Pat
Mangan; druga nagroda – Cathy Damian; trzeci nagroda – Kathleen
Kitka. Gratulujemy
St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club planuje wycieczkę autobusową
do Mohegan Sun. w piątek, 25 kwietnia. Koszt wycieczki $20 za
osobę, która zawiera 15 dolarów na posiłek i 15 dolarów na napiwek
dla kierowcy autobusu. Autobus odjeżdża z Webster o godz. 18:00
powrót zaplanowany jest koło północy. Czeki z opłatą prosimy
wypisywać na Jane Wilk. Aby uzyskać więcej informacji prosimy o

Holy Rosary Sodality zaprasza na coroczną „Drogę Krzyżową z
Maryją”, która zostanie odprawiona w piątek, 11 kwienia o godz.
19:00. Z tego powodu, wyjątkowo, droga krzyżowa będzie odprawiona
w języku angielskim. Zapraszamy do udziału w tym przepięknym
nabożeństwie i przeżycia cierpień Jezusa widzianych oczyma Jego
Matki.
NIEDZIELA PALMOWA
Najbliższa niedziela jest już ostatnią niedzielą Wielkiego Postu.
Niedziela Palmowa jest początkiem przeżywania Wielkiego Tygodnia
i otwiera bezpośrednie przygotowanie do Świąt Zmartwychwstanie
Pańskiego. W Niedzielę Palmową wspominamy uroczysty wiazd
Jezusa do Jerozolimy. W naszej parafii uroczysta procesja z palmami
odbędzie się przed Mszą o godz. 11:00. Serdeczeni zapraszamy na
spólne przeżywanie tej pięknej uroczystości.
WIADOMOŚCI SZKOLNE
Diecezjalny Konkurs Recytatorski odbył się w sobotę 29 marca
w St. Peter-Marian Jr.-Sr. High School w Worcester. W konkursie
uczestniczyli uczniowie z klas 6,7 i 8. W konkursie czytania pierwsze
miejsce zajęły: Sauna Harley i Pamela Kalinowski. W kategorii
recytowania z pamięci pierwsze miejsce zajęli: Bartosz Mamro oraz
Justyn Sudyka. W kategorii interpretacji trzecią nagrodę zdobyli
Brandon Goguen i Taylor Strong. Gratulijemy!
A oto pozostali uczniowie, którzy reprezentowali naszą szkołę:
Abigaile Duval, Jessica Gardnem, Noah Boudreau, Noah Desil,
Hannah Iozzo, Nicole Kulpa, Shane Parker oraz Tomasz Mamro.
CMENTARZ PARAFIALNY
Nadeszła nareszcie upragniona wiosna. Wraz ze zniknięciem śniegu
i rozmarzaniem gruntu, a także z budzącą się do życia roślinnością,
czas pomyśleć o porządkach na naszym parafialnym cmentarzu.
Prosimy o usuniecie wszystkich zimowych dekoracji, które znajdują
się przy grobach, a które mogą przeszkadzać np. w koszeniu trawy.
Dekoracje, które nie zostaną zabrane do 12 kwietnia będą usunięte
przez pracowników cmentarza. Prosimy jednocześnie, aby
umieszczane przy grobach dekoracje nie zajmowały dożo miejsca
i były trwale umieszczone, tak by nie ziewał ich wiatr. Na cmentarzu
nie ma pracownika zatrudnionego na cały etat, dlatego też prosimy
parafian o wyrozumiałość i w miarę możliwości o pomoc
w utrzymaniu grobów bliskich zmarłych w czystości i porządku,
a przez to równeż i schludnego wyglądu całego cmentarza. Dzięujemy!
