• Attended the University of Washington 19491953, in which he gained a 2nd Team AllAmerica selection, 1st Team All-America
selection and NCAA Player of the Year in 1953
• Led the team to a final four appearance
averaging 34.8 points per game and was
named to the All-Tournament team
• Drafted by the Milwaukee Haws in 1953
• Played Center from 1953-58 for the Hawks, Baltimore Bullets, Boston
Celtics and the Fort Wayne (Detroit) Pistons
• Houbregs number 25 has been retired by the University of Washington
