Toruń –
this established in 28th of December 1233 city is located by the Vistula
River. In 1997 thanks to its unique character, which is owed to the
historical monuments of the Old Town, Torun was registered on the list of
world heritage of the UNESCO.
Since the beginning of its existence Torun visibly marked its presence on
the European map. This is to be thanked to its natural geographical
conditions that allowed the main trade routes to cross in Torun.
700 years of its history developed the political, economic and cultural
position. A lot of historical monuments and interesting architectonical
object representing the achievements of the medieval ages builders stood
the test of time.
Torun is also famous for the legends and myths about its origin.
