EDF Polska with Fortum Power and Heat Oy and Instal
Kraków consortium establish a cooperation to reduce
the NOx emissions
EDF Polska S.A. with the consortium Fortum Power and Heat Oy / Instal Kraków S.A. have signed
two contracts to reduce the NOx emissions of two power plants based in Wrocław (Kogeneracja)
and Krakow. The scope of these two contracts includes engineering, procurement, delivery, erection
and commissioning of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) DeNOx solution.
The project will ensure that the NOx emissions from the two plants meet the environmental requirements
from the European Union as set forth in the Industrial Emissions Directive.
The scope of work includes the implementation of the SCR DeNOx solution on two boilers in the plant of
Wroclaw and two boilers in the plant of Krakow, in order to reduce the NOx emissions from the power plants
from 550-600 mg/Nm3 to less than 200 mg/Nm3.
These contracts are part of a EDF Group program in Poland aiming at improving the air quality and
modernising the existing production assets to ensure, in the long run, the security of the energy supply for
the cities of Wroclaw and Krakow.
The commissioning the SCR solutions is scheduled at the end of 2015.

electricity market and a 15% share of the network heat market, and employs 3,400 employees. The EDF
