Every summer I go to my grandmother’s house in the country. It’s
a beautiful place. It’s quieter and cleaner than our city. There are
only six houses and a little shop, but there are some children the
same age as me there, so we have a great time together.

It’s my Gran’s 75th birthday today. She’s the oldest person in my
family and the fittest one, too. She lives alone in a village house and
does everything around it herself. She also rides a bike every day
to do her shopping, and sometimes rides a horse. She’s really cool!

Jack is my best friend. He’s a dog that I got from my grandma. He’s
very intelligent and friendly. He loves playing with a ball, so we
often go to the forest with my family and play with Jack together
there. Jack is lucky that we live in a village and he’s got lots of space
to run about.

Hi Steve,
Are you back home from your holiday?
As you know, I’m on holiday in Poland with my parents. We planned a camping holiday,
but it rained all the time, so after two days at the campsite, we moved to a hotel.
Yesterday, we visited Cracow. The first thing that we did was go to the Wawel Castle
to see the Crown Jewels. Then, we walked to the beautiful Main Square. After lunch,
we went to a fantastic water park and had lots of fun! On the way back, we stopped at
a restaurant. My parents had ‘pierogi’ (small dumplings). I wanted to have a pizza, but they
didn’t have any, so I had a traditional Polish soup called ‘żurek’. It was really delicious!
