the following topics:
The social and demographic situation of older adults:
TThe topic addresses the diagnosis and evaluation of demographic situation of
seniors, social attitudes toward them, and their social standing.
Care and therapy offered to older adults:
The aim of this topic is to indicate the multifacetedness of senior care, that is
institution-based medical and social care and therapy as well as homecare.
Activation of seniors:
This topic will focus on the effectiveness of practical solutions in use and the
proposed plans for social and educational activation of seniors. The discussion
will tackle the problem of elderly functioning in a new dimension of their life being
a technology-connected based society.
The ultimate objective
Technology plays an increasing role in our everyday lives.
The main objective of this convention is to reaffirm the pivotal role of telehealth
and telecare technologies to radically transform the way health and care for
elderly people is delivered. These technologies provide health care and enable
elderly people to maintain their autonomy and allow them to live independently
for a longer period of time.
The centre stage of the convention will be taken by the RevoCom TeleCare
System that has been launched by the RevoApp company based in Koszalin with
its English partner RevoCom. The RevoCom terminal, designed and
manufactured by the Japanese company NAKAYO Inc., is a revolutionary
wellbeing monitoring device built into a video phone specially designed for
seniors who live alone at home. The system provides a comprehensive telecare
solution for the user and for care providers who can use it on daily basis to
monitor their elderly clients. The 7-inch touch screen and user-friendly interface
is designed for ease of navigation and easy access to terminal features. The
phone can also be detached from the docking station and used within Wi-Fi
network.
In their presentations, specialists in health, psychogerontology, geriatrics, and
sociology will discuss the ways and solutions for supporting people to have
greater choice, control, and confidence in their care and wellbeing. The presented
research results will help understand the problems faced by the elderly in
medical, psychological, and social aspects of life.
