W 1997 roku zdobyl I nagrodç na konkursie kompozytorskim,. Vox Basìlicae Calisiensis, w Kaliszu za utw6r na ch6r
a capella. R6wnieZ w 2002 roku zdobyl I nagrodç na Konkursie Kompozytorskim w Mikolowie za Koncert na organy,
orkiestrç smyczkomt, dwie trll_bki i ~- W 2004 roku zdobyl m nagrodç na Miçdzynarodowym Konkursie
Kompozytorskim ., Muzyka Ogrodowa" w Krakowie.
W swym dorobku kompozytorskim posiada utwory symfonicme, kameralne, fortepianowe, organowe,
ch6ralne oraz pieSni.
Opr6cx tego dokonat transkrypcji na organy utwor6w innych kompozytor6w, oraz wielu opracowail kol~owych w tym
pieSni liturgicznych wykonywanycb w Rzymie z okazji urodzin i 25-cio lecia Pontyfikatu Ojca Swi~go Jana Pawla
przez
NarodoW\ Orkiestrç Symfonic7.rui Polskiego Radia z Katowic i Ch6r Polskiego Radia z Krakowa. Komponowal muzykç

Was bom in 1960 in Tychy. After taking
Music in Krak6w. He graduated from the Academy of Music with degrees in Musical Education 1984, Composition under
Prof. Marek Stachowski ( pupil of Krzysztof Pender-ecki ) 1989 and Organ under Prof. Miroslawa Semeniuk-Podraza with
distinction 1989. In 1988 he took improvisation classes from Jan Jongepier in the Netherlands and took part in the Summer
Organ Academy in Haarlem under Hans Haselbock and Anders Bondeman. .
In 1997 be received first prize at 'the "Vox Basilicae Calissiensis" Composing Competition in K.alisz for an a cappella
choir piece. Also in 2002 he was awarded another first prize at the Composing C0mpetition in Mikol6w for the Concerto
for Organ, string orchestra, two trumpets and percussion. In 2004 he received the third prize at the lntemational Composing
Competition "Muzyka Ogrodowa"(Garden Music) in Krak6w. Among bis acbevements as composer are symphonic pieces,
chamber pieces, piano and organ works, pieces for choir aild songs. He has transcribed compositions for organ and is the
author of many liturgical music transaiptions including song performed in Rome at occasions such as the Pope John Paul
Il's birthday, the Anniversary of the Pope's Pontificate by the Polish Radio Katowice Symphony Orchestra and the Krak6w
Radio Choir.
His works include pieces of liturgical music and songs for choir and orchestra com.posed for the Archepiscopal lngress of
Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz. As well as for the Pope Benedict XVI's pilgrimage to Poland in 2006 ( Holy Mass at the
Krak6w Blonia ). His particular interest is the symphony orchestra with its unexploredpotential within the conventional use of
instruments. He is also interested in film score music. His compositions bave been used in Jerzy Ridan's · documentary films
"Imiç moje Kinga"(''My name is Kinga") and "Pielgrzymi" ("Pilgrims").Botor teaches piano and organ improvisation at
Academy of Music in Krak6w. His concerts took piace in Poland, Germany, Netherlands and the Mexico. Featuring also Botor's
own compositions and improvisations. Among his recitals bave been concerts consisting of only improvised pieces.
Henryk Jan Botor belongs to the Polish Composers Association.
