To fill the dale with visions bright and tidings glad to say:
That Christ is born of Mary, the promised day is neared,
The dawn of hope and saving grace has now at last appeared.
3. “Salvation” sang the angels loud to shepherds at their fold.
Tonight the Lord did send His Son, as prophets had foretold
As He weeps in the manger so on the cross He’ll die;
