KINDERGARTEN JANUARY NEWS
Our twenty-four kindergarteners have been very
busy. We ended 2014 by doing a wonderful job at our
Christmas concert. We also had a great Christmas
party and had a surprise visit by Santa Mickey
Mouse.
We ended the year with many students getting our
classroom award – a high five. You can earn a high
five for many different things. Here are some of the
ways: for doing something extra like bringing in box
tops, attending family Mass, coming to school for
open house, participating in any all school events like
food drives or bake sales and doing special things in
class for your peers. When a student earns ten high
fives they get a special treat. Many students have gotten their treats for several series of ten High Fives
and are working on their next set. Our goal is for
each student to get at least one High Five each month.
Reading is very important to us. We are participating
in both the Pizza Hut Book-It program through
March, 2015, and the Six Flags at Great America
Reading that runs from the end of December to February, 2015. Over the Thanksgiving and Christmas
vacations the students brought home books from our
classroom library to help them with these reading
programs.
During December some of the things we did was to
write about what we were dreaming of for Christmas.
We also thought about and drew pictures and wrote a
sentence about what we would put in a stocking for
Jesus for Christmas. We learned about “Little Christmas” and some customs of different groups.
Some of the things we will learn in January are to
count to 100 by ones, twos, fives and tens. We will
start to work on measuring things and learning the
different instruments we can use for measuring items.
We will work hard on number recognition – how the
number is displayed in pictures, and in both forms of
the written number (i.e.10 and ten). We will mark our
100th day of school in February and have a day of
“100 Days” celebration.
We have worked on learning about cause and effect,
what a sentence looks like, learning main ideas and details. We have compared various stories and learned
how many stories can be a lot alike. We also learned
how things can be the same or different. We are learning that many authors can talk about the same subjects
(like animals) but can present them in a different way.
St. William
We are working on learning about our different feelings and how Jesus also had these feelings. We are
learning about our five senses and how we can use
each one for different things and how they also work
together.
It is hard to believe how fast time is going. We are
more than half way done with the school year. We
have seen our students really grow in all areas – mentally, spiritually and physically. They are ready for
bigger challenges and we will do our best to provide
them with as many opportunities possible to help
them continue their growth.

PIELGRZYMKA DO GRECJI
Wraz z biurem podróży Blue Amber Travel
zapraszamy na 10-dniową pielgrzymkę „Śladami
Świętego Pawła po Grecji”, pod duchowym
przewodnictwem O. Stanisława Czarneckiego SJ,
z Parafii św. Williama, w dniach 19-29 kwietnia
2015 roku.
Nasze pielgrzymowanie rozpoczniemy od Aten,
gdzie św. Paweł wygłosił słynne „kazanie o
nieznanym Bogu”. Po Atenach udamy się do
antycznego Koryntu, gdzie św. Paweł założył jedną
ze wspólnot chrześcijańskich. Z Koryntu pojedziemy
ktoś pragnie dołączyć do naszej grupy to prosimy o
niezwłoczne zgłoszenie się do Blue Amber Travel,
tel. 847/630-3777 lub do ks. Stanisława
Czarneckiego, tel. 773/637-6565 w.112. Serdecznie
zapraszamy na pielgrzymi szlak ze Św. Pawłem Apostołem Narodów!
Obecność Słowa Bożego w moim życiu czyli
Spotkania
Biblijne
liturgii?
Wszystkich chętnych zapraszamy
na żywy dialog ze Słowem Bożym
Spotkania
odbywają się w środy, po Mszy św. (godz. 19.00)
w Parafii Św. Williama
Program spotkań:
Wprowadzenie historyczno – egzegetyczne,
dzielenie się Słowem Bożym, modlitwa, śpiew
astępne spotkanie: środa, 28 stycznia
Serdecznie zapraszamy!
