Our sacrificial giving made in gratitude to the Lord for
His sacrifice for us.
During Lent we will
have the beautiful
Lenten devotion,
Stations of the Cross.
We will celebrate The
Stations of the Cross
every Friday during
Lent at 7:00pm in
English in our chapel.
Please try to come and be with Jesus not only
at Easter, but also during Lent when we commemorate his suffering for you and me. Be
with Him and bring your children with you.
Lenten Fasting Regulations
Abstinence on all the Fridays of Lent, and on
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. No meat
may be eaten on days of abstinence.
Catholics 14 years and older are bound to abstain from meat. Invalids, pregnant and nursing mothers are exempt.
THE WAY OUT
Today’s readings launch us into Lent with the story
of salvation. How did we humans get where we are?
How do we get out? Genesis—through the Adam and
Eve narrative—explains that we got separated from
God and happiness through greed, selfishness,
arrogance. But, as Paul explained to the Romans, God
has not abandoned us, and never will. We get out
through the “new Adam,” Jesus Christ, through
whom the death of sin is conquered by the life of
“overflowing grace.” From the start, though, Jesus—
like Adam and Eve, like you and me—had to face
“the tempter.” Shown fame and wealth, he was tempted
to grab for it. But Jesus saw through such foolishness.
During Lent we will look at what the tempter spreads
before us daily, then try to make choices that put us
on the side of the angels.

GORZKIE ŻALE
będziemy odprawiać
w każdą niedzielę
Wielkiego Postu
zaraz po polskiej
Mszy Św. O godz.
10:15.
Gorzkie Żale to popularne w Polsce nabożeństwo
pasyjne, połączone z wystawieniem Najświętszego
Sakramentu i kazaniem pasyjnym. Pochodzi ono z
początków XVIII w. - po raz pierwszy odprawiono je
w 1707 r. Jego tekst zachował oryginalne, staropolskie
brzmienie.
Co ciekawe, struktura tego nabożeństwa opiera
się na strukturze dawnej Jutrzni. Składają się z trzech
części, rozpoczynają się Zachętą (lub Pobudką analogia
do
współczesnego
Wezwania)
i
wzbudzeniem intencji (czytanie).
