Analityczne i numeryczne modelowanie procesu nieustalonej generacji ciepła w elementach tarciowych układów hamulcowych Monografia zawiera analizę pól temperatury, generowanych na skutek tarcia w układach hamulcowych typu nakładka-tarcza. 235 Analytical and numerical modelling of process of transient heat generation in friction components of brake systems The monograph contains the analysis of temperature fields, generated due to friction in pad-disc brake systems. To evaluate distributions of temperature in such elements, analytical or numerical solutions of the corresponding thermal problems of friction are used – boundary-value heat conduction problems, in which the temperature fields of the pad and the disc are coupled through the boundary conditions on the contact surfaces. The methods of obtaining of such solutions for the cases of one-dimensional, axisymmetric, and three-dimensional distributions of transient temperature were developed. The presented solutions include the change in the slip speed and contact pressure during a single- and a multiple braking, convective heat transfer with the surrounding air, dependencies of thermophysical properties of materials as well as the coefficients of friction and intensity of thermomechanical wear on the temperature. As a result of the carried out numerical analysis an influence on the temperature of the important input parameters to which belong the initial velocity of a vehicle, the nature of its change during braking, time of the increase in contact pressure to nominal value, thermophysical properties of materials and the coefficients of: heat partition between the pad and the disc, contact thermal conductivity, convective heat transfer was found. Obtained in the monograph results may improve selection of the friction materials of brake systems of machines, increase the efficiency, longevity and safety of work. The presented solutions do not deplete the problems of temperature calculations in friction elements of brake systems. There was not for instance a question of finding a flash temperature, thermal stresses initiated by the non-uniformity of temperature distributions, thermoelastic instability, etc. 236
