Development of the transmission infrastructure in Lasów
Description of the investment
Within the investment plan of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. it has developed the transmission infrastructure in Lasów on the Polish - German border, which will enable
increased gas imports from the western direction by approximately 0.5 bcm per year to a total capacity of approximately 1.5 bcm per year.
During theextension of the transmission networkin the region (Lasów and Dolny Śląsk) the 100 km of new gas pipelines, including Dziwiszów - Jeleniów and
Taczalin-Radakowice-Gałów sections, was established.
Benefits
The modernised transmission system in Dolny Śląsk region will enable gas transmission from the Lasów point to customers in the region and will raise the
effectiveness of cooperation with the Underground Gas Storage (UGS) in Wierzchowice.
The new gas pipeline in the future will enable utilisation of gas surpluses from Germany and will secure the connection of the Wierzchowice UGS with the
Dolny and Górny Śląsk agglomerations.
The performance of the project will enable the increase of energy security, improvement of reliability and elasticity of the operations of the entire transmission
system in the Dolny Śląsk and Opole region. It will also help in preparing the system to transport gas in the direction of Germany in the event of the appropriate
market conditions arising or in emergency situations.
Communes which have gas pipelines running through their territory at Polish side, obtain additional funding in the form of a property tax paid
annually by the investor in the amount of 2% of the investment value located in the given commune. This is a sum that regularly contribute to the
commune's budget and that can be allocated for the needs of the residents and local communities.
