Prof. Dr habil. Rudolf Holze Lecture: Spectroelectrochemistry - Molecular probes at electrochemical interfaces. 27 Mai 2013, time 12.00 Faculty of Chemistry, A. Mickiewicz University, Poznañ Umultowska 89b Prof. Dr habil. Rudolf Holze (14.11.1954 in Hildesheim) is full professor of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry at Chemnitz University of Technology since 1993. He finished his studies of chemistry at Bonn University (1979) with a diploma thesis on new cathode materials for lithium batteries. His doctoral thesis (1983) focused on impedance measurements at porous electrodes for energy conversion systems. As a postdoctoral fellow (1983/1984) at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA, he studied transition metal complexes as electrocatalysts for fuel cells. At the University of Oldenburg, Germany, he completed his Habilitation on methods for spectroelectrochemistry (1989). Research interests of Prof. Holze include electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry (in situInfrared- and Raman spectroscopy at electrode surfaces), structure and dynamics of electrified interfaces, electrochemical systems for energy conversion and storage, advanced lithium ion batteries and electrochemical materials science, among other: intrinsically conducting polymers, self-assembled monolayers, corrosion of dental alloys. He has published several books and more than 300 research papers and reviews. Prof. Holze is full member of Academy of Sciences of Saxony. In editorial boards of various journals and as editor he is actively involved in scientific communication; this includes organization of conferences and workshops.
