TEMAT: Tools for Transfection of Cultured Mammalian Cells
Abstract: In its most basic definition, nucleic acid transfection involves non-viral delivery of
exogenous DNA or RNA into the cell. Since transfection is an integral component of many
research projects, selecting the appropriate reagent and methodology has become a key
factor to experimental success. To this end, a series of TransIT® Transfection Reagents
and an Ingenio® Electroporation platform are presented for transfection of DNA,
mRNA and/or siRNA into any cell. Comparative studies highlighting the various options
will provide the best solution for transfection of standard cell lines, primary and
hard-to-transfect cells.
