The concept the spine connecting Bad Muskau and
Weisswasser is key for Pueckler-Land tourism
development. The spine concept includes redesign
of several important areas along the main route, and
the introduction of a range of new facilities.
On the south western edge of Bad-Muskau, new
parking area and bus stations are located near the
terminus of the narrow gauge railroad. The plan
increases connection and potential for the future
reuse of the old railway station just south of the hub.
These plans would serve both to encourage tourists
to use public transportation in the region, and to
keep automobile traffic out of the center of Bad
Muskau.
The main route to the area from Berlin, Route B115/
B156, intersects with the spine midway between Bad
Muskau and Weisswasser. A redesigned intersection
and a tourist information center are central to a
planting strategy that creates a visual guide.
Where the spine parallels the narrow gauge railway,
trees are planted between the routes for visual
separation. Views from the railway in the opposite
direction into the Faltenbogen landscape are created.
Seeing different scenes at different speeds on the
same route is a key consideration of the design.
Where the spine crosses the region’s moraine belt,
an array of petrified trees is placed in a man-made
pond. This landscape art expresses the history of
the moraine belt and encourages visitors to explore
the region. A geology museum is located among the
lakes in the moraine belt.

Finally, the public areas of the commercial district in
Weisswasser are revitalized, to convey an image of
a prosperous town to visitors and potential investors.
Das Konzept zur Verbindung von Bad Muskau und
Weißwasser ist der Schlüssel für die touristische
Entwicklung des Fürst-Pückler-Landes. Es beinhaltet
die Neugestaltung verschiedener, wichtiger Gebiete
entlang der Hauptverbindungsstrasse und die
Schaffung neuer Einrichtungen.
Am Rand von Bad Muskau, an der Endstation der
Schmal-spurbahn, entstehen Parkplatzflächen und
Bushaltestellen. Die Verbindung wird verbessert und
das Potential zur Neunutzung des alten Bahnhofs
erhöht. Touristen werden ermutigt, die öffentlichen
Verkehrsmittel der Region zu nutzen und damit das
Zentrum Bad Muskau’s vom PKW-Verkehr zu entlasten.
Die B115/B156 nach Berlin kreuzt auf halbem Weg
mit der Verbindungsachse Bad Muskau - Weiswasser. Die Neugestaltung der Kreuzung und ein
Touristen-Informationszentrum sind zentraler
Bestandteil zur touristischen Vermarktung und
visuellen Erschließung des Gebietes.
Zwischen den Trassen von Verbindungsstraße und
Schmalspurbahn sollen Bäume gepflanzt werden, um
eine visuelle Abgrenzung zu schaffen. Blicke in
Richtung Faltenbogenlandschaft sollen freigehalten
werden, um verschiedene Szenen in unterschiedlichen
Geschwindigkeiten auf der selben Strecke zu vermitteln.
Im Kreuzungsbereich von Verbindungsstraße und
Moränengürtel, befinden sich steinerne Bäume in
einem künstlichen Teich, welche die Geschichte der
Moränenlandschaft ausdrücken und den Besucher
zur Erkundung der Region ermutigen sollen. Inmitten
der Seen wird ein geologisches Museum vorgeschlagen.

Weißwasser ma kluczowy charakter dla rozwoju
turystyki w Parku Krajobrazowym Księcia Pücklera.
Na południowo-zachodnim krańcu Bad Muskau,
niedaleko końcowej stacji kolejki wąskotorowej,
znajdą się nowe parkingi i przystanki autobusowe.
Przewiduje się zwiększenie potencjału użytkowania
starego dworca. Koncepcja ma spełniać dwie funkcje
– zachęcić turystów do korzystania z regionalnych
środków komunikacji publicznej, a także odciążyć
ruch samochodowy w centrum Bad Muskau.
Szosa B115/B156 prowadząca do Berlina krzyżuje się
mniej więcej w połowie drogi z osią łączącą Bad
Muskau z Weißwasser. Nowe oblicze tego skrzyżowania z centrum informacji turystycznej jest centralnym elementem strategicznym działań zmierzających do turystycznego urynkowienia i poprawienia
dostępności regionu.
Na odcinku, gdzie droga łącząca biegnie wzdłuż linii
kolejki wąskotorowej, powstanie pas drzew jako
wizualne odgrodzenie obu tras.
W miejscu, gdzie droga przecina pas morenowy,
stanie grupa kamiennych drzew w sztucznym stawku. Ta instalacja artystyczna ma być wyrazem historii
krajobrazu morenowego oraz elementem zachęcającym do poznania regionu. Pośród jezior morenowych stanie muzeum geologiczne.
I wreszcie ożywione mają zostać strefy publiczne w
Weißwasser – dziedzina handlu i usług, które na
turystów oraz ewentualnych inwestorów działać mają
jak wizytówka rozwijającego się miasta.
