Outline Description
Large, monochrome, stone statue on a triangular, sculpted base that
protrudes from the corner of the building.
Property Description
This statue was sculpted by Marco Montebello. It replaced an older statue
dating to 1745 that was destoyed during the war. The present statue was
made thanks to the efforts of the Franciscan Brother Egidio Mallia. It was
inaugurated and blessed by the Franciscan Provincial Fr. Agostino Portelli on
June 4, 1970. This statue shows the saint in the most usual post-Trdentine
representation with a book and a lily, together with the infant Jesus.
