A SPECIAL CELEBRATION!........Because St. Mary
of Czestochowa School, as
we all knew it for decades, will
cease to exist in June of 2009
a special ceremony is being
planned. Please save the date
of WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2009 at 7PM. to participate in a formal Mass of Celebration for the 100+ years that the school
served our parish and community.
After the Mass all will be invited to take a final walk through the
school classrooms, the library, etc. Refreshments will be served
in Makuch Hall. All alumni, faculty—past and present, children,
parents, parishioners and friends are invited. Please spread the
word about this special celebration!
This is a very difficult time for all involved, and we ask your
prayers for the children and their parents and especially for the
faculty and staff who are greatly affected by the closing of the
school. We look to God’s Providence to guide us now and in the
days ahead.
We extend a heartfelt Thank You to everyone that supported
our parish school over the years, with your time, talent and
treasure! May God reward and bless you!

“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit there are different forms of service but the same Lord there are different workings but
the same God who produces all of them in everyone.¨(1 Corinthians 12:4-6)
By giving each of us different gifts, God made sure that the Church would
have the combination of talent and treasure that was needed to do His
work. However, what happens if one of us does not bring our contribution to
God’s altar? God’s plan is not fulfilled. Some important work is left undone.

Pentecost Sunday:
By the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on
the day of Pentecost, Christ’s paschal
mystery was brought to its completion,
the Holy Trinity was fully revealed, and
the Church was made manifest to the
world. St. Thomas Aquinas says that
the Holy Spirit interiorly perfects our
spirit, communicating to it a new dynamism so that it refrains from evil for
love. With the Holy Spirit within us “it is
quite natural for people who had been absorbed by the things of
this world to become entirely other-worldly in outlook, and for
cowards to become people of great courage.” (Saint Cyril of
Alexandria)
All of our registered parishioners should have
received our 2009 Parish Raffle Book and the information sheet explaining details about the raffle.
The first Early Bird Raffle drawing was held on
Sunday, May 24th at the 12:30 PM Mass and winner of the Nintendo DS Lite was Franciszek Banachowski of Chicago, IL. Congratulations Mr. Banachowski!
The next Early Bird raffle drawing will be held on Sunday June 21st
(Fathers’ Day). The prize will be an MP3 Car Stereo.
Other Early Bird raffle drawings will be held on Sunday, July 12 for
a GPS (10:30AM Mass) and on Sunday, August 8th for an IPOD
Nano (4PM Spanish Mass).
In order to be eligible for the Early Bird raffles, you must sell all 20
raffle tickets and payment of $100 for them must be received before
the Early Bird drawings. The cover of the raffle book is used for the
drawing.
Additional raffle books can be obtained at the rectory office.
The grand prizes of $3,000; a 47” LCD TV; a Personal Computer; a
Nintendo WII and Bicycles will be raffled at the Carnival on Sunday,
August 23rd, 2009 around 8PM.
Father’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday,
June 21st. If you would like to remember your
father, grandfathers, godfather or anyone who
fulfilled the role of father in your life, with a spiritual gift, please remember to pick up aFather’s
Day Remembrance envelope today. It can be found at all
church entrances. Please complete the information on the envelope, enclose your offering and place it in the collection basket
when you come to Mass. The intentions of all Masses celebrated in our church on Fathers’ Day will be offered for all living
and deceased fathers mentioned on the Spiritual Gift envelopes.
You are invited…….The annual Rosary Confraternity Dinner will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at
the St. Mary’s Social Center from 1PM to 5PM.

Dear Parishioners,
Every year it is becoming more apparent,
in the Archdiocese of Chicago, that there is a
shortage of priests to serve in the parishes.
Today, it is not uncommon for one priest to
administer to two parishes.
We have been very fortunate to have three
full-time priests serving our parish for the past four years. However, Bishop Thomas Paprocki has met with me to request that
the Redemptorist Community of St. Mary of Czestochowa share
one of their priests, to begin a Spanish ministry, at St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Parish in Chicago,IL.
Beginning on July 1, 2009, our parish will share Fr. Darek
Pabiś with St. Stanislaus Parish. Fr. Darek has agreed to serve
both, our parish and Stanislaus Parish, on a part-time basis. St.
Stanislaus Parish will also share one half of the salary and onehalf of the health insurance costs for Fr. Darek. This income will
help our parish to reduce some of its budget costs as requested
by the Archdiocese.
Therefore, Fr. Radek and Fr. Waldemar will be the only fulltime priests to serve in our parish. Fr. Darek will assume only
part-time responsibilities.
This change in our priest personnel will necessitate a change
in our present Mass schedule, since Fr. Darek will have to celebrate a Mass in Spanish at 1:30PM every Sunday at St. Stanislaus.
Beginning July 1, 2009 the Saturday Mass schedule will be as
follows:
► The 8AM morning Mass on Saturdays will be cancelled with
the exception of the 1st Saturday of each month. An 8AM
Mass will be celebrated every 1st Saturday and the 1st Saturday Holy Hour will continue to be prayed after the Mass.
► The Saturday evening Mass in English will continue to be
celebrated at 5PM. After the 5PM Mass, Baptisms in the
Spanish language will be administered on the 1st and 3rd
Saturdays and on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, baptisms in
the English language will be administered.
► A 6:30PM Mass in the Polish language will be celebrated
every Saturday. (The Sunday 7PM Mass will be cancelled).
Sunday Mass Schedule:
► 8:30 AM—Mass in the English language.
► 10:00 AM—Mass in the Polish language (Baptisms will take
place after this Mass in the Polish language.)
► 12 PM—Mass in the Spanish Language
► 4PM—Mass in the Spanish Language
We are confident that our parishioners will be understanding
and will accept the new Mass schedule. We, your priests will
continue to serve our parishioners to the best of our ability. May

después de la fiesta pascual,
cincuenta días de espera que se
hacía cada vez más intensa a
partir, sobre todo, del día de la
Ascensión. Ha sido un período
de preparación al gran acontecimiento de la venida del Paráclito. El día de Pentecostés,
se rememora ese momento en que se inicia la gran singladura de conducir a todos los hombres a la vida eterna,
actualizar en cada uno los méritos de la Redención.
La Misa de Agradecimiento
Nuestra Escuela está finalizando su actividad educativa.
Invitamos a todos los que en ella estudiaban o educaban
a sus hijos para la misa durante la cual vamos agradecer
a Dios por todos estos largos
anos del trabajo formativo. La
misa se celebrará el 3 de junio
(miércoles) a las 7 PM.

La comida Mexicana
El próximo domingo (7 de junio) después
de la misa a las 12:30 habrá posibilidad de
compartir la comida mexicana. La venta
se realizara en la plaza detrás del templo.
Toda la ganancia estará destinada para el
mantenimiento de nuestra Parroquia.
El Día de los Padres — 21 de Junio
Recordamos que hay oportunidad de obtener a
las puertas de nuestra iglesia los sobres para pedir la misa por tu Papá. La misa es el mejor regalo que se puede ofrecer al Papá, vivo o difunto.
El día 31 de mayo tiene su aniversario de Ordenación Sacerdotal P. Waldemar Wielądek.

El cambio del horario de las Misas
Cada año se vuelve mas aparente, en las Arquidiócesis de
Chicago, que hay una escasez
de sacerdotes para servir las
parroquias. Hoy en día no es
raro que un sacerdote administre a dos parroquias.
Hemos sido muy afortunados
al tener tres sacerdotes sirviendo tiempo completo los
últimos cuatro años en nuestra
parroquia. Sin embargo, El
Obispo Thomas Paprocki solicitó que la Comunidad Redentorista comparta a uno de sus
sacerdotes, para empezar un ministro Español, en la parroquia St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr.
Empezando el primero de Julio del 2009, nuestra parroquia
compartirá P. Darío con la parroquia St. Stanislaus. La
parroquia de St. Stanislaus también compartirá la mitad del
costo del salario y de su seguro de salud. Este ingreso ayudará a nuestra parroquia a bajar su presupuesto tal y como
fue solicitado por la Arquidiócesis.
P. Radek, nuestro pastor, y P. Waldemar serán los únicos
sacerdotes trabajando tiempo completo para servir nuestra
parroquia. P. Darío solo tomara responsabilidades de medio
tiempo.
Por lo tanto, debido al cambio con nuestros sacerdotes será
necesario hacer un ajuste en nuestro horario de Misas.
El cambio del horario entra en vigencia a partir del
1 de julio del 2009.
Horario de misa en sábado:
•
La Misa de las 8.00 AM será cancelada con la excepción del primer sábado de cada mes (con la hora santa
después de la misa).
•
La Misa de la tarde seguirá siendo celebrada a las 5
PM. Después de la misa serán celebrados los bautizos; (el
primer y tercer sábado en Español y el segundo y cuarto
sábado de cada mes en Ingles).
•
La Misa en Polaco será celebrada cada sábado a las
6:30 PM..

Dla naszej Szkoły jest to ostatni rok
działalności edukacyjnowychowawczej. Dlatego pragniemy

Zmiany w sobotnio-niedzielnym programie liturgicznym
Każdego roku w Archidiecezji Chicagowskiej staje się coraz
bardziej widoczny braki księży. Nie dziwi więc fakt, że w wielu wypadkach jeden ksiądz jest zmuszony przez sytuacje do
obsługi dwóch parafii.
Jako Parafia byliśmy przez
ostatnie cztery lata uprzywilejowani przez fakt, ze
trzech księży pełniło posługę w naszej trzyjęzycznej wspólnocie. Jednak
jakiś czas temu Ks. Biskup
Tomasz Paprocki poprosił
Wspólnotę Redemptorystów o jednego księdza do zainicjowanie duszpasterstwa hiszpańskojęzycznego w Parafii św. Stanisława, biskupa i męczennika.
Odpowiadając na ta prośbę, od 1 lipca 2009, do tej posługi
zostaje oddelegowany o. Darek. Parafia św. Stanisława będzie
płacić połowę jego pensji jaki również w połowie będzie pokrywać koszty jego ubezpieczenia zdrowotnego. Pomoże to
nam zredukować koszty utrzymania naszej parafii i w ten sposób odpowiedzieć konkretnym działaniem na wyzwania związane z obecnym kryzysem ekonomicznym, który nie omija
również wspólnoty Kościoła. Na pełnym etacie w naszej Parafii będą zatrudnieni tylko Proboszcz – o. Radek i o. Waldemar.
Ojciec Darek będzie zatrudniony na pół etatu.
Mając na uwadze konieczności zharmonizowania programu
sobotnio-niedzielnych celebracji liturgicznych w naszej parafii
z tymi w języku hiszpańskim, które będą się odbywać w Parafii św. Stanisława, biskupa i męczennika zostaliśmy zmuszeni
do dokonania korekt. Przedstawiamy zatem zmiany w programie sobotnio-niedzielnych celebracji liturgicznych w naszej
Parafii.
Program ten wchodzi w życie z dniem 1 lipca 2009:

Nie będzie już więcej sobotniej mszy świętej o godzinie 8 rano
(za wyjątkiem I Soboty Miesiąca i Godziny Świętej celebrowanej zaraz po niej)
5.00 PM – msza święta (w języku angielskim) a po niej chrzty
(w j. angielskim – 2 i 4 sobota miesiąca oraz w j. hiszpańskim
– 1 i 3 sobota miesiąca)
6.30 PM – msza święta (w języku polskim)
Niedziela
8.30 AM – Msza święta (język angielski)
10.00 AM - Msza święta (język polski) i chrzty w języku polskim po jej zakończeniu.
12.00 PM - Msza święta (język hiszpański)

Proszę zwrócić uwagę, ze niedzielna msza świętą w języku
polskim z godziny 7.00 PM została przeniesiona na 6.30 PM w
sobotę.
Mamy nadzieje, ze zmiany te zostaną przyjęte przez Was w
duchu zrozumienia. My, jako duszpasterze, pragniemy zapewnić, ze będziemy służyć Wam tak jak potrafimy najlepiej.
