How to get Travelling by PLANE: John Paul II International Airport in Balice is located about 11 km from the city centre. From the airport you can get to the city centre by public bus, shuttle train or taxi (approx.30 min.). BUS: the municipal bus lines: 208, 292 and the night bus 902 run directly between the airport and the city centre. Travelling time is about 35-40 minutes. You may purchase a ticket from a newsagent’s in the passenger terminal (PLN 2.60) or from the driver (with the extra fare PLN 0.50). The bus stop is located directly in the front of the passenger terminal. For the hotels: "ALFA", "ANTICA" and "POLONEZ" (see the City map1 and AGH map) bus No 208 - get off at the bus stop "Kawiory". Then walk about 5 min to the hotels. bus No 292 - get off at the bus stop "AGH". Then walk about 15 min to the hotels. night bus No 902 - get off at the bus stop "Cracovia". Then walk about 20 minutes to the hotels. For "Jordan Guest Rooms” (see the City map2 ) bus No 208 and 292 - get off at the bus stop "Politechnika". Then walk about 10 min to the hotel or take a tram from "Dworzec Główny" – one stop to "Basztowa - LOT" and then walk 100 m to the hotel. night bus No 902 - get off at the bus stop "Basztowa-LOT" and then walk 100m to the hotel. TRAIN: Alternatively, a shuttle train service links the airport with Kraków Główny – the main railway station in the city centre (the timetables available here). On average, trains run every 30 min. between 4 a.m. and midnight. The journey takes about 15 min. A single ticket costs PLN 6.00, you can purchase it on board. The Krakow-Balice Airport Station is located approx. 200 m from the passenger terminal, you can get there on foot (about 5-minute walk) or take a free shuttle bus service - this is a threeminute trip from the airport terminal building. From the railway station to the hotels: "ALFA", "ANTICA" and "POLONEZ" (see the City map3 and AGH map) - bus No 179 - get off at the bus stop "AGH". Then walk 10 minutes to the hotels. From the railway station to "Jordan Guest Rooms" - take any tram from "Dworzec Główny" – one stop to "Basztowa - LOT" and then walk 100 m to the hotel. TAXI: Getting to the centre by taxi should cost PLN 50-70 (and PLN 100-140 night fare), depending on the distance (and the honesty of the driver- you can ask him about the price before getting into the car). The taxi stand is situated by the passenger terminal. You may also phone one of Krakow's taxi calling centres (+4812 609 400 400 or +4812 422 22 22) and they will send the nearest cab available. If you haven’t managed to exchange euros, a taxi fare from the airport to the hotel should be between 15 – 20 euros; but before you take a taxi, ask a driver if s/he will accept euros (in most cases they should). An exchange rate is 1 euro = 3 ÷ 3.20 PLN. Travelling by TRAIN: The main railway station "Kraków Główny" is located in the city centre. Then walk approximately 15 minutes through park (Krakowski Park) and them along Czarnowiejska street to the D-5 building.
