1. The Church under the invocation of St. Michael – the complex of the former Benedictine Convent, built in the 17th century, it has preserved its baroque forms unchanged. 2. The Church under the invocation of St. Joseph – the complex of the former Reformati Order built in the 17th century. 3. Brama Opatowska (The Opatowska Gate) – built in the 14th – 16th centuries – one of the best preserved town gates in Poland. Close by there are remains of the mediaeval city walls, including the so-called “Needle’s Eye” (24). 4. The complex of the former Holy Ghost’s Hospital – founded in 1292, erected in the 14th century, rebuilt in the 19th century – is numbered among the oldest hospital buildings in Poland. 5. The former Synagogue – built in the 17th/18th centuries – at present the seat of the State Archives. 6. The Olesnicki Family’s Town-house – in its present form – dates from the 18th century, baroque. Other middle class town-houses (9), erected in the 15th century and later, have preserved many architectonic details within their walls, which bear witness to the rich historic past of these buildings. 7. The Underground Tourist Route – consists of underground merchant cellars from the 15th – 17th centuries, stretching under the town-houses situated in the Market Square, about 500 m long. The deepest level is at 12m. 8. The Town Hall – built in the 14th century, expanded on in the 16th century (the attic), one of the most beautiful Renaissance town halls in Poland. 15. The Cathedral – built in the 14th century, Gothic, has preserved its original spatial arrangement and the rich carved decorations inside. The interiors date from the 15th – 17th centuries (Byzantine-Russian frescos, rococo altars, paintings and sculptures). Nearby, the capitulary buildings – the Bishop’s Palace (11), the Suffragan See (14), the Curacy (16), the House for Retired Priests (12) and the Belfry (13). 16. The remains of the second monastery of the Dominican Friars at the nonexisting St. Maria Magdalene Church – the 17th/19th centuries. 17. The House of Dlugosz, built in 1476 by the foundation of the famous historian – one of the best-preserved Gothic dwelling-houses. Collegium Gostomianum – built at the beginning of the 17th century, in the late Renaissance style, it has preserved its original architectonic shape and function of a school. 20. The Granary, built in the 17th century, rebuilt in the 19th century – the only preserved granary of Sandomierz. 21. The Castle – built in the 14th century at the place of the former stronghold, rebuilt later, is in its present form a manifestation of historical transformations. At present it houses the Regional Museum. 22. The monastery complex of the Dominican Friars at St. Jacob Church – built in 1226, late Romanesque, it has preserved the typical spatial arrangement of a monastery building and the rich plastic decorations made of moulded and glazed brick. 23.
