Students present language skills at B1 level
By the end of the course the student will be able to:
- apply the rules of how present, past and future tenses are used
- use present, past and future tenses fluently
- translate sentences from student’s mother tongue to English
- paraphrase sentences using a variety of grammar forms and
structures
- make questions
- use indirect questions
- use question tags

Obligatory course contents:
- present tenses (present simple, present continuous, present perfect simple, present perfect
continuous)
- present tenses in contrast: present simple / present continuous, present perfect simple /
present perfect continuous
- past tenses (past simple, past cont., past perfect simple, past perfect cont., used to / would)
- past tenses in contrast: past simple / past continuous, past simple /past perfect, past simple /
present perfect
- future structures (future simple / cont., future perfect simple / cont., going to, present cont.)
- grammar tenses in contrast
- direct questions: subject and object questions
- negative questions
- indirect questions
- question tags
Optional course contents dependent on students' choice:
- exercises based on translation
- exercises based on paraphrasing using the structures discussed: open transformations, key
word transformations
