Study Visit for Polish and Israeli Educators
Preliminary program
The study visit will take place between 15.09.2013 and 15.10.2013. The final dates will be determined later
based on applicants’ suggestions (see application form).
Day 0:
• Arrival of Israeli and Polish participants to Kraków
• Accommodation in a hotel
• Informal welcome
Day 1:
• Welcome at the Galicia Jewish Museum
• Visiting the Galicia Jewish Museum
• Guided tour of Kazimierz and Podgórze
• Visit at the Jewish Community Center JCC Kraków
Day 2:
• Guided tour of the Old Town and Wawel
• Lecture at the Galicia Jewish Museum: History of the Jews in Postwar Poland
• Presentation at the Galicia Jewish Museum: The Contemporary Jewish Community in Krakow
• Visit to the Institute of Jewish Studies at Jagiellonian University
• Lecture at the Galicia Jewish Museum: Jewish Heritage in Poland
Day 3:
• Jewish heritage tour: Bochnia, Brzesko, Tarnów, Zbylitowska Góra, Dąbrowa Tarnowska, Rzeszów,
Łańcut, Lubaczów, Bełżec, Zamość
• Accommodation in a hotel in Zamość
Day 4:
• Visiting the Zamość synagogue
• Visiting Lublin and Kazimierz Dolny
• Accommodation in a hotel in Kazimierz Dolny
Day 5:
• Departure to Warsaw
• A visit to the Museum of the History of Polish Jews and the Jewish Historical Institute
• Meeting with representatives of the Jewish Community in Warsaw
Day 6:
• Guided tour of Warsaw
• Meeting with representatives of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage
• Meeting with the Ambassador of Israel to Poland
• Meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister's Office
Day 7:
• Farewell
