Synergy of photovoltaic systems and distribution grids

The conference is organized in the frame of project PV GRID financed by the European
Commission Framework Program CIP Intelligent Energy Europe. The PV GRID project
objective is to reduce barriers hampering the large-scale integration of photovoltaic systems
in distribution grids across Europe. This goal is pursued through an analysis of barriers and
solutions and the formulation of regulatory and normative recommendations. This National
Forum will spotlight the status of administrative procedures for PV and the first findings of the
PV GRID project. The outcomes of the PV GRID project concerning the prioritization of
technical solutions available for enhancing photovoltaic generation (PV) hosting capacity in
distribution grids are presented.
The aim of the Polish Forum is to initiate dialogue and cooperation between the PV and the
power industry to achieve the best solutions for Poland. Photovoltaics and energy industry
have similar goals and the discussion could be very beneficial to confirm the synergy of
priorities and discuss potential fears and myths that may arise in connection with the
development of photovoltaics in Poland.
